I can only guess that it's 3/4's the size of the smallest memory card.

Is it weird that I'm actually more excited by the Montezuma Blitz update? That game owns me.

Although if AC3 Vita has that delightful AC multiplayer they've honed over the past two iterations, I'll still be in day one.

AC3 on Vita = instant buy. I haven't played since the first game and I'm trying to take a step back on how much console gaming I do/games I buy. The portability and power of the Vita is extremely pleasing as I transition to a couch/bed gamer.

Wow, syn, that sounds extremely manly.

Guacamelee! is coming to PS3 and Vita:
Hello good-looking, internet-savvy PlayStation.Blog readers. Now that you’ve been buttered up a bit, DrinkBox Studios is excited to announce that our new Mexican-themed co-op-multiplayer dimension-swapping Metroid-vania beat-em-up platformer, titled Guacamelee!, will be released through the PlayStation Pub Fund program!

If you have never heard of Guacamelee! the best thing to do is to open your mind, relax, and watch the below trailer:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CRsdiEICFI

I know what you are probably thinking…“What is this ‘Pub Fund’? And what does this mean for ME?”

Well it simply means that you can expect Guacamelee! to exclusively launch on the PlayStation®Network for both the PlayStation®3 and the PlayStation®Vita. That’s a lot of ®’s! You can also expect the game to take advantage of the special features offered by each of the platforms (details of these to come later – stay tuned).

Set in a world inspired by Mexican culture, Guacamelee! features a down-on-his-luck agave farmer named Juan Aguacate, who sets out to save the world when El Presidente’s Daughter is kidnapped by an Evil Charro Skeleton. The story takes place in and around a small village in Mexico, and has the player travelling through “The World of the Living” and “The World of the Dead” on his quest to rescue the girl he loves.

We’ll be showing the game next week at E3 running on both the PS3 and the PS Vita. And for up-to-date development news, make sure to follow us on Twitter @DrinkboxStudios, and check out our blog here. Also, feel free to shoot us any questions you have in the comments below, and we will try to answer them the best we can!

Finally, we leave you with a chicken.

That. Size of the "demo" screws over a lot people with the smaller cards. And then there's the issue with bandwidth.
They should have made a condensed demo like all other first party titles have received.

Alawar Entertainement and SPL seemed to have taken all that to heart and have patched the hell out of the game. The list is way to long to mention but I will give the highlights:

Trophies
New Tutorial
Gems for winning a Tournament
Leveling is easier
Time to get hearts varies on level
Quicker ways to remove bonuses and totems

Warner Brothers is rebooting Spy Hunter for Vita:
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announces Spy Hunter, a reboot of the legendary combat driving series, specially developed for PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS by TT Fusion. The game will be available this fall.

On the eve of the franchise's 30th anniversary since the original Spy Hunter was released to arcades in 1983, the new Spy Hunter races forward on its most thrilling and dangerous ride yet. The player once again takes on the role of the "Agent," the driver of the high-tech G-6155 Interceptor supercar, armed extensively with advanced weaponry, and ready to take on a global terrorist organization set on world domination.

"Spy Hunter's classic gameplay has been upgraded to give PlayStation Vita and 3DS players a new, adrenaline-charged experience," said Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President, Production and Development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. "Gamers now have more choice in the transformation and customization with greater hand controls, brilliant graphics and enhanced action cameras."

The Interceptor seamlessly transforms from supercar to off-road assault vehicle to speed boat, allowing players to go where they like within the game's branching mission tracks. Players can choose to outfit and upgrade the Interceptor's many weapons and high tech gadgets as they like throughout the course of the game. And for the first time, the Agent will have additional support in the form of an unmanned aerial support drone, allowing players to plan their destruction when assaulting enemy agent strongholds. Spy Hunter also features thrilling crash choreography and a camera system that follows the action in slow motion to let players savor the destruction they created.
At least their reboot doesn't involve getting out of the car.

haven't spent too much on digital games yet anyways. But I am PS+ so I hope this rumor is true.

By the way, if you're interested in any of the SNK Minis or PSP games that have a PS+ discount, you should grab them this week since the discount is ending on Tuesday.

That is one big update and it seems pretty much completely good. Shame that it's EU only at the moment. Oh well. Instead I will harness my patience and chi by playing the Legacy of Golf 18 hole challenge in HSG tonight. Oh wait... that inspires murderous rage, not patience and chi.
By the way, if you're interested in any of the SNK Minis or PSP games that have a PS+ discount, you should grab them this week since the discount is ending on Tuesday.
I have a bunch if SNK PSP games and minis, and they look and play great on the Vita. Especially the Metal Slug and Samurai Shodown games, and Shock Troopers. I also have Ikari Warriors, Victory Road, TNK III, and some other older SNK classics, which are great as well; though it would have been nice to map the weapon pointing to the 2nd analog nub on the Vita for those older games that had rotating joysticks (Ikari, etc).

But the Metal Slug games are among my favorite Neo Geo games of all time; I have most of them in home cartride and MVS formats too. Fantastic games!
It doesn't work with the PSP emulation settings that allow other PSP games to use both sticks properly?
Ikari Warriors, Guerilla War, and other older SNK shooters used a rotating joystick to have your character aim his weapon at enemies. The PSP version by default maps the "R" and "L" shoulder buttons to rotate weapon right and left. Unfortunately, the PSP emulator for Vita only lets you map the right joystick to the d-pad directional buttons, or the square, triangle, circle, and X buttons. It doesn't let you map the "R" button to the right analog:right direction, or the "L" button to the right analog:left direction.

I played around with some options and haven't found a good way to work it, though I tried to remap "shoot" and "grenade" to the "R" and "L" shoulder buttons, and then remap the "rotate right" to circle button, "rotate left" to square button. So far though these haven't worked well; would be nice if the emulator included R & L in the remap function somehow.

If you can map them to circle and square, then mapping the face buttons to the right stick would let you play it with both sticks. It wouldn't be true dual-stick controls, but that's the fault of the original games.

You must have a bootleg Vita if you have A, B, and Y buttons. ;)

LOL I saw that and fixed it right after my original post, getting confused between systems! I think I did try exactly what you said, and for some strange reason though the right and left directions worked OK for rotating the weapon, my character kept throwing grenades if I ever bumped the stick up. Even though I'd remapped the grenade button to left shoulder. Very strange.

http://www.joystiq.com/2012/06/02/rumor-assassins-creed-3-liberation-headed-to-vita/

Looks like the new Game Informer has information on the Assassin's Creed game:
We may have just learned a little bit more about that Assassin's Creed game Ubisoft announced for the Vita last August. The game, Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation, is said to take place in New Orleans and "across the Gulf of Mexico" during the end of the French/Indian War, according to neoGAF user ImLibo, who supposedly received the July issue of Game Informer ahead of time.

These two tweeted pictures appear to corroborate the thread's claims that the game will star a female French assassin of African descent named Aveline. The thread also mentions a multiplayer mode "specifically tailored to the Vita experience," as well as alligators and the ability to "explore the entirety of New Orleans without loading a new area."

Sine Mora has been announced for Vita:
Sine Mora may very well have redefined the shmup genre with loads of character and exquisite presentation, and now it’s spreading its wings to PlayStation®Vita, so more players can experience the combined genius of Digital Reality and Grasshopper Manufacture’s digital opus. Arriving soon, Sine Mora is set to blow minds yet again for an entirely new audience.

“When you’ve got a great game on your hands, there’s nothing you want to do more than share it with everyone,” said Balázs Horváth, director of publishing at Digital Reality. “We had a fantastic launch with Microsoft exclusively on Xbox LIVE Arcade, and we’re really excited to continue that on the Vita.”

Exclusive to this new version is a guest character from Japanese cult studio G.rev, responsible for many shoot’em up classics like Border Down, Strania or Under Defeat. Vita owners will be able to select a new hero, Wilhelmine Muller, coming directly from the fantastic world of Under Defeat. Of course, the presence of Wilhelmine also means a brand new special weapon and new chronomes, available only on Vita!

Co-developed by Grasshopper Manufacture and Digital Reality, Sine Mora is a dieselpunk shoot 'em up that provides a unique take on the genre, where time is the ultimate factor. Mixing classic shooter sensibilities with next-gen presentation, Sine Mora defines itself as a gorgeous shmup that appeals to both hardcore and casual gamers alike. Found on Xbox Live Arcade and coming soon to PlayStation®Vita, Sine Mora features over 60 combinations of planes, characters and time manipulation devices to complete every beautifully-crafted stage with scaling difficulty. All of this is set to an epic score of soaring heights composed by Akira Yamaoka (acclaimed for his works on Shadows of the Damned and the Silent Hill series) and with set pieces from boss battles designed by the legendary anime director Mahiro Maeda (Final Fantasy: Unlimited, The Animatrix segment "The Second Renaissance Parts I and II", and the animation sequence in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Vol. 1).

For more information about Sine Mora, please visit the official website: http://sinemoragame.com, the Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/sinemoragame or follow us on Twitter: http://twitter.com/SINE_MORA.

Hey Everyone!

Look, E3 is here, and we know there’s all kinds of hot news coming at you from everywhere. So over here at Queasy HQ, we’ve decided to kick things off a little early with pretty much the biggest announcement we’re allowed to give you right now: Sound Shapes is coming to PSN on August 7th. That’s… like… a few weeks away! Are you breathing into a paper bag right now to avoid hyperventilating? We are, which is making it kind of hard to type. And if you’re not, you should be, because we’re also taking this opportunity to sneak out the fact that Sound Shapes is, day-and-date, also coming to PS3.

Yes. That thing you have under your TV, or maybe beside it (or possibly on top, but that sounds kind of dangerous, man!). And no, we haven’t been looking in your windows; we’ve been too busy making Sound Shapes and pricing it at $14.99 for BOTH VERSIONS. Buy it on PS Vita or PS3, and enjoy it on either system! We know. We’re freaking out too!

Through the magic of crossplay, you’ll be able to share content between the two systems without even having to really think about it. It’s all thanks to the “cloud” which floats above us like a benevolent data god. Save your campaign data up in the cloud, and download and resume on either platform. Maybe you’ll start creating a song at home on the PS3, but then decide that it’s not really the place to compose your latest masterpiece! Just download it to your PS Vita and make some beats on the bus. Then get off the bus several stops late, in a part of town you don’t know that well, and make some beats there! Then get another bus home, probably.

Oh, and the community is completely shared, so if a friend only has a PS3, or you only have a PS Vita (or any permutation of that) they can still see the levels you’ve made on the other system. And you can therefore see ALL the levels everyone has made and uploaded. Which will hopefully be a ton of levels. We’re really looking forward to what you guys do.

In fact, let’s talk about this a bit: You might be aware that we’ve been collaborating with visual artists and musicians for our campaign levels, and most recently revealed that our pals Superbrothers and Jim Guthrie provided the art and music for Corporeal, a four-song concept album that explores the way in which music can free us from the corporate machine… if it doesn’t crush us first.

It’s been a lot of fun working with those guys and we’re really happy with the way the levels have turned out. They mix up the gameplay and offer a classic Jim Guthrie soundscape that’s a fun contrast to other campaigns. And while the levels themselves are cool, it’s super fun to play with all of the music and graphics in the editor–everything, and we mean everything, from the campaign records can be mixed and mashed up with other records to create your own tunes and levels.

Anyway, here’s a video we made in Jim’s basement where he attempts to clear the levels in his own album (spoiler: he dies). There is also a demo of how the loop-based music system works for remixing campaign tracks in the editor mode. Also featured: One of Jim’s, like, 18 cats. He likes cats.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRdSrdVOA-U

Is it too late to change the album title to “Chicken Dinner?” The answer is yes. Yes, it is too late.

If you’re coming to E3, we hope you come by and check out Sound Shapes. We’ll have both PS Vita and PS3 on the floor with content from four of our campaign records and we’ll be showing the cross functionality between the two versions. If you can’t make it to E3, that’s okay because if you didn’t notice the game is out on August 7th. Just spend that time regulating your breathing with a paper bag and you’ll be fine.

Alright, back to it. ALMOST DONE! (Seriously, we are almost done making the game.)

Want to see the PS3 version of Sound Shapes in action? Be sure to tune into our E3 2012 livestream — we’ll be showing it off live at 5:30pm Pacific Time during the countdown to PlayStation’s E3 press conference!

That's really surprising, but anything to make the 3g model look less ridiculous is good by me. Counting down to the Sony presser! Hopefully Ubi will announce that leaked Rayman sequel (seen on Wii-U) for Vita as I loves me some Rayman.

Some more info on Liberation:
Today at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Ubisoft announced that Assassin’s Creed® III Liberation will be released on October 30 exclusively for the PlayStation®Vita handheld entertainment system, bringing the full Assassin’s Creed experience to a handheld device for the first time.

Assassin’s Creed III Liberation includes key pillars of the franchise that fans of the series know and love, including combat, free-roaming navigation and a rich story full of intrigue and twists, delivering a true Assassin’s Creed experience to the PS Vita system.

Gamers play as the series’ first female protagonist, Aveline. A woman of conviction, Aveline is fighting for freedom in 18th-century New Orleans – a city on the brink of a rebellion as the Spanish Empire imposes its new rule.

Assassin’s Creed III Liberation also features PS®Vita-specific controls, making the most of the system’s touchscreen and rear touch pad, cameras and gyroscope. These include distinctive combat, character interaction, deciphering and traversal controls – all delivering an immersive handheld Assassin’s Creed experience. Assassin’s Creed III Liberation will also bring a unique multiplayer experience to the series exclusively tailored for the PS Vita system.

“The release of Assassin’s Creed III Liberation will be the series' most ambitious handheld offering to date,” said Geoffroy Sardin, chief EMEA sales and marketing officer at Ubisoft/Tony Key, US senior vice-president of sales and marketing at Ubisoft. “Combining the console-like experience with features exclusive to PS Vita system, Assassin’s Creed III Liberation will be a leading example of what gamers should expect from a handheld experience."

PlayStation® fans who pick up both Assassin’s Creed III Liberation for the PS Vita system and Assassin’s Creed III for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system will receive exclusive content, including an in-game version of Connor’s tomahawk, an exclusive character skin, a multiplayer character and a complete upgrade of all ammunition pouches.

PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale will be coming to Vita with cross-play support:
In the weeks that have followed the PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale reveal, we’ve been asking you all to stay tuned for more exciting announcements. Well it’s finally time to deliver! We’re very pleased to announce that in addition to coming to the PS3, PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale will also be available on the PS Vita with full Cross Play support! Equally exciting is that Nathan Drake of the famed UNCHARTED series and Big Daddy from the amazing Bioshock universe join us as the latest additions to the PlayStation All Stars roster!

The pick-up and play nature of PlayStation All Stars and the portable power of the PS Vita seem to be made for each other, so bringing the two together was a no-brainer. With Cross Play support, owners of the PS3 and PS Vita versions will be able to play against each other seamlessly, via both local and online play. Both versions of the game feature identical gameplay at a blazing-fast 60 frames-per-second, offering the complete PlayStation All-Stars experience. PlayStation All- Stars PS Vita takes advantage of many of the unique Vita features, including “near” functionality and both front touchscreen and rear touchpad support.

Equally exciting of course is the announcement of two new characters: UNCHARTED’s Nathan Drake and BioShock’s Big Daddy. Nathan Drake is a true PlayStation star known to never miss an opportunity for adventure, making him a perfect addition to our roster. Big Daddy’s introduction may come as a surprise, but we think he’s a character that typifies the celebration that is PlayStation All-Stars. This deep sea giant packs a serious punch when he’s angry, offering a fun play style that’s fresh and exciting.

E3 week is always an exciting time, and we’re really excited to be sharing this news with you all. If you make it out to E3, sure to stop by the Sony booth to check out PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Vita featuring Cross Play, as well as our two new characters, Nathan Drake and Big Daddy. And of course, stay tuned for more feature announcements leading up to PlayStation All Star’s release this Holiday season.

I'm really hoping that this is the GOOD version of Need For Speed: Most Wanted coming to the PS Vita, and not the awful PSP-exclusive version that was complete garbage. I loved the original Most Wanted game, as it was one of my favorite games for my original Xbox when I owned one.
