Again though, they sell for $20 each NEW at MSRP/retail price and when do we as CAG's REALLY pay retail? Never. Well, maybe those rare times when you think a game is gonna be as good as the prior installments in the series(I'm looking at you, GTAIV) and then the dev goes and fucks up the great control scheme and goes for 'realism' and all of that other useless shit.

But yeah, me....pay retail? fuck no. That's why I'm on CAG. As for PS3 owners wanting God Of War on BR, all they gotta do is wait for March of next year and they'll have a new GOW game on BR. Why settle for old shit when you can play something new?

But whatever....I'm done. I'll buy the collection, once it hits $5 @ Kmart or Sears. Till then, it doesn't exist to me.
Since 3.0, my Blu's, DVDs and games don't AutoStart when I put the disc inside the console even though I have that option as ON. Any suggestions?
Anyone? ;)
Why not play the old God of Wars while you wait for the new God of War?
I don't have a PS2 currently and I don't actually own them at this point. But I've owned them at least twice each and I probably will again once I can find them and a PS2 cheap or the compilation version for $5-10.

Translation - you'll end up with the compilation the 1st week it comes out, then come on here to complain about it for some reason.

It wasn't really a personal question, just the question that opposes your "Why settle for old shit when you can play something new?" point.

OK

Well, I'll leave this debate up to those who may still be on the fence, but I know where I stand and while not everyone may agree with it, we're all allowed to have differing opinions, right?

No! Kidding aside, I wouldn't mind seeing Sony release smaller updates/patches for the firmware rather than having to download a large file each time. Hopefully they patch the firmware to allow this in the near future.

Wow. Something we agree on. It's a miracle. LOL Seriously though, the huge files are a bit time consuming and a pain in the ass if you just popped on to play a game, since I don't pay attention to the PS blog at all and I only find out about possible new FW updates from this thread when it gets bumped in my subscriptions list.

I'll always take few big updates versus lot of small ones annoying the hell out of me when I want to play online. Your idea works well if most of the PS3 owners play single player games, but tends to suck for heavy online gamers like myself.

You are never allowed to bitch about BC again. You just contradicted half your previous statements in this entire thread

How so? Because I said I would buy the God Of War compilation, though only on clearance for $5 or $10 at most?

Honestly, I doubt I'd really use BC that much, but it'd definitely be a nice thing to have.

So yeah.. Sony definitely seems to have screwed something up with USB devices. I'm copying a 141 MB video to an external drive, and it's at about 23% after > 20 mins. Heaven forbid I decide to move a video off my PS3 HDD...

You should try again, that happened to me once then never happened again. It was really weird
Anyone? ;)
I dunno. I don't have auto start enabled. But it might be a glitch. I have the "what's new" option in the settings menu turned off, and it doesn't really seem to do anything to turn anything off. It's bizarre. I guess our problems will get fixed in 3.1.

My USB keyboard didn't want to work with my Rock Band USB hub earlier. I had to unplug it and and then plug it back in to get it to start working again. I had ZERO problems with it before the update, just like my headset, so there definitely ARE problems with USB devices since this update. Go Sony.:applause:

Do any of you possibly have a hard drive plugged in? I have this problem too with my usb keyboard. If the hard drive shuts down "inactive too long" the thing shuts down and I can't use my keyboard. This is when the system is first turned on. You either have to keep it unplugged when not in use, or constantly turning it back on. It's a weird thing to note.

I hate to tell you this but your drive is either dying or your flash media is dying. I had this problem once too. Thankfully the flash drive was only a day old so I was able to get a refund. But yeah it sucks. I'd test it on a pc too to make sure it isn't dying.

Actually no, the only thing I have plugged in besides the keyboard is my USB headset and I've been having issues with that going on and off as well since the update.

I seriously doubt if both items could be going. I really do think it's the update that did something to some of the USB functionality of the PS3.

@ Iamthecheapestgamer: I've had some wierd issues with my rockband usb hub as well since FW3.0 Similar to what you've mentioned things not working period or not after a certain amout of time. I've got the 80gig from the MGS4 bundle if that matters.

I have a brand new, literally 2 week old PS3 slim that I'm having the USB issues with. I just hope that these issues are brought to Sony's attention and fixed, as well as the game freezing issues(mainly Uncharted from what I've been seeing thus far).

Because half your posts in here are whining for BC like this is the sony support forum or something. And then you go and say "why play old shit"....Why bitch about not being able to play old games?

Because it was one of Sony's big selling points for the PS3 originally. Then it was the FIRST thing they removed. Why put it in if they're going to just remove it anyway? Just like rumble, which was because of the lawsuit, yet now they released the Dual Shock 3.

Amazing how many things they've said and gone back on thus far. I'm not trying to argue this crap anymore though, since I know the BC is gone for good. fuck 'em. If I do somehow end up wanting any of these rehash/re-releases though, they're being bought USED or on clearance for $5-10 and NO MORE.

Why bitch and whine about it, if it's something that you don't even care about? It's seems you like to bitch and whine for the sake of bitching and whining..

Was I bitching about BC anymore? No. I said if they still had it, I would probably only use it sparingly. So how is that 'bitching and whining'? Is it because I'm pointing out something that Sony said that they've now gone back on and thus shortchanged newer PS3 owners on and that I've made it seem as if it's not as infallible as some of you obviously think?

Personally, I don't even care at this point, since I'm pretty much not the target audience for the PS3(videophiles, people with HDtvs, people who don't mind shelling out for nickel and dime shit that should've been in games to begin with when they first launched).

But I own one....get used to it.

I wont speak for others but Its annoying to me seeing your lame rants plastered all over this thread.

Sony doesnt work for you. If you need to get through to them go to http://blog.us.playstation.com/ At least your rants will be seen by someone who can do something about it, instead of making us CAGs sift through all your bullshit posts to get to the real informative posts in here.

Actually, if you took the time to take off your Sony Kool Aid glasses for 2 seconds, you'd see that I've been mentioning(like others) that I've been having issues with USB related products that I was using without any issues on my PS3 prior to FW 3.0.

It's you and a select group who feel you have to come in and take an off remark or so that I might make(like the 'I'd barely use the BC' one)about Sony's prior decisions regarding the PS3 and blow it up into a fuckin' federal case.

Don't like my posts, put me on your ignore list, simple as that. But I'm not gonna sit by and say 'zomg Sony is the fuckin' best company EVAR' like the rest of the drones who gotta comment whenever someone says something against Sony.

That's cool that you own one. I do too!;) The reason I said bitching and whining is because no one here really cares about your contradicting opinions, it would be different if you once in a while made a post stating your unhappy about something, but I swear that 80% of your posts are you complaining about SOMETHING Sony has done to wrong you personally. Don't get me wrong it's fine to criticize but that ALL YOU DO! It's annoying to the rest of us!

Like Smiggity said you clog up these threads and most of the time I go to check it hoping to see info about the update or info on an incoming update, instead I find mainly your posts whining about what Sony has taken out/added features that you don't care about to piss you off, just get a facebook/twitter page that way you can rant there and save us the space here.

You act like it is black and white when comes to these companies fanboys/haters, I like to believe it's more of a grey area. We don't care about you attacking Sony because of we love Sony sooo much, it's more of it's annoying to have to read time after time. After if you are having so USB issues with your PS3 TELL fuckING SONY! Not us! They would be the main one to help you.

Weird. I guess they JUST put it up, since I was able to get into GTA IV earlier. Just had a freezing issue with GTAIV while online, but I'm going back into the game for now. I'll probably download this later tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks for the heads up, King Broly.

It amazes me that they are able to launch these things into the wild without publishing at least something resembling a changelog first. That's supposed to be pretty much mandatory in the world of commercial software--and firmware counts, I think!--but we're frequently supposed to just download and be surprised with these things.

I agree with this guy from Kotaku .

aside from the update slowing down games or freezeing them ( causing me to abort my second playthrough of bioshock) the only other thing i dont like about it is all the extra psn store icons. one is freaking plenty. now i wonder when they will fix the freezing issue.
It messes up Bioshock too? Man, I was just about to start that one... guess I'll have to wait for a fix. SONY!!!
yep i noticed it after id done the update and wasnt sure if my ps3 was acting up or not but when i went to the sony website theres other people having the same problems with bioshock and other games.
I wish they would include a changelog. Does the 360 provide one when they update?
Not that I've ever seen.

Man, it must be so friggen hard managing a console. You just put out one slightly crappy update and it can mess up most of the games. But, that is Sony's fault for releasing them so fast. Even though 360 takes a helluvah time to get any update, they usually don't break anything else.

I don't get how you go about testing a firmware update though. Must be a pain in the ass.

I haven't updated my PS3 yet and I probably won't any time soon. My console bricked after the 2.00 update and I'm just worried it might happen again with 3.00. It does suck that I can't go online to download demos or buy any games from PSN but I want to spend my money on games, not a possible repair bill. They need to test these suckers out before they put it out there.

The Sony boards are terrible. It's always a bunch of kids talking.
