Bump for thread prevention.
I also thought I'd toss what happened tonight in here. Saturday I went to a Gamestop and left my Edge card there (thought he had kept it behind the counter, but I may have very well left it on the counter for whatever reason) I hadn't picked it up prior to tonight. The GS I go to on the way home has a bunch of cool GB games, so I grab those. The associate is unable to add the Edge discount to my entire order for whatever reason (although he told me I would get my Edge card just fine) and I don't notice this until I'm in the car heading down the road. I figure I'll go pick up the Edge card and get an adjustment there.
Now, me and an associate at this Gamestop have a bit of a history. A while back, when Halo 3 was trading in for 49 bucks after this crazy tradein promo, I tried to trade in a disc only copy. It was mint condition, but he was charging me refurb fees because it didn't have a case or a manual. Then, on the day I forgot my Edge card I also asked that a Gamecube game's case that I was buying be switched out with another Gamecube game's case. The game I was buying had the plastic part of the case ripped off, and I thought I was justified. He kind of rolled his eyes at me during that.
But, anyway, I came in tonight to get an adjustment from another clerk in the store. It was taking long since I bought like ten GB games, but everything was fine except for the copy of Mass Effect I bought. Keep in mind prior to the adjustment I had asked if he needed another 20% off coupon for the Mass Effect and he told me no. Of course, Mass Effect came up 26.99 and I asked if he needed another coupon. He again said, "No." I told him the total was off, and he finally agreed.
My nemesis came over and looked at the transaction and volunteered to look for a coupon to use (?!) He came back and didn't find one. I asked if he needed a coupon because I may have an extra. He said no and added a generic 20% promo to the order. This threw off the total by a bit since it wasn't a true 30% off-- the Edge took off of the 20% total instead of the full price of the game. I brought this to my attention and he kept disagreeing. I said, "A full 30 percent off would be nine dollars off. I think it's a little off since you overode--" He interrupted and said, "It wasn't an override, I added a 20% promo."
SAME
ING DIFFERENCE, YOU HAD NO COUPON SO YOU CHANGED THE NORMAL PRICE OF THE GAME FOR ME. I THINK THAT CONSITUTES AN OVERRIDE, BUT WE CAN ASK MY FIRST GRADE TEACHER IF YOU'D LIKE.
Anyway... I told him, in a more direct fashion, that I had an extra coupon and I'd like to just use that. He said, "You have it on you?" Like I had caused this whole situation and the natural thing to assume is when someone brings up having an extra coupon, in the context of resolving an issue immediately, that it must not be on them, and at home or at work or any other place. I gave him the coupon and he shook his head "Fifty cent difference." Yep, you're right, fifty cent difference that I would have had if you didn't keep my Edge card behind the counter, or if the other Gamestop had used my Edge discount like they said they did. I thanked the other guy, who seemed pretty nice throughout all of it (though I'm sure he's chuckling with his cohort about me arguing for two minutes about fifty cents) and tried to thank my nemesis as unlocked the door, but he didn't respond.

him, I'll argue with him all the time if I'm right about something.
Anyway, before someone jumps on me for overreacting-- I'm not pissed, I just don't happen to like this Gamestop guy. He's one of those thirty-something Gamestop guys that's cocky and arrogant. Mother Gamestop has employeed far too many of those.
