The official Rayman: Raving Rabbids thread

Ah thats a little better then. Might pick this up...I'll see how long and good Trauma center is, as well as the monkey ball main mode. Not to mention Red Steel...bah I dont know what I'm doing yet xD
I like the game, but it seems to be getting old-- I'm on day four. Will there be greater mini games to come?
Not really. They start repeating. Fortunately they must have done a focus group and known which ones people wanted more of. As the "plunger shoot" and "dance" games come up pretty often, which are the two most fun, IMO.
Ok, so you've played both and you recommend Rayman over SMB? I'm going back to FYE soon to return it in exchange for Rayman, but also to pick up another Wiimote and Nunchuck.
Yeah I have them both. Rayman is just more fun. The mini games have a great variety and I see myself playing it for a long time. Now this being said I am way better at Rayman. Monkey Ball is very difficult for my girlfriend and I. The game isn't nearly as fun as SMB2 on the Cube. Thats just my opinion. I'm sure some people love SMB Wii.
For the outhouse game, I found this little nugget (no pun intended) on the GameFAQs board last night:

"Aim at the crotch, and do a single shake down on the nunchuck."

That's right, hit 'em where it counts! I tried it dozens of times before, but once I tried it like that, I lasted about 1:10, 20 seconds past the goal time.
I need to try that. That minigame is killing me.

Would have been an awesome multiplayer game at my Wii party if I had been able to unlock more stuff. I think that's my one complaint so far. Having to unlock every game to have it playable in multiplayer is rather lame.

Finished the whole main game and just started in on the score attack stuff - probably took about 10 hours to do the story mode, as someone said before. I agree that so far I'm having a lot more fun with these minigames than I am with Monkey Ball, but I haven't honestly put that much time into that one yet. Mostly because I was having so much fun with the rabbids!

As for the outhouse game, I haven't tried the crotch shot, but I did have luck always aiming at the door at the level of the top wooden cross bar on the door and the point where that cross bar meets the hinge (or would meet if you could see the hinge clearly). Especially when the door was already open, I found aiming at this point to be pretty successful.

I think both Super Monkey Ball and Rayman are worthy titles to buy. I really wouldn't pick one over the other. However, Super Monkey Ball takes a little while to really get addicted and with Rayman its quick to have fun with. Super Monkey Ball's mini games are rather lacking but the main game is great and very challenging. Rayman is, of course, composed of mini games so they are detailed and more polished. I bought Super Monkey Ball at launch and rented Rayman from Gamefly. I'm probably going to buy Rayman though, $45 from Gamefly to keep it.

Thank God I finally beat the outhouse level. You'll notice that if you have the hand near the top or bottom of the doors, it will use a different motion, which seems to work better.

Woohoo, finally hit 100% on story mode today!

It's so annoying that you have to beat all of those minigames to unlock them for mulitplayer mode. >_<

I hate that damn Bunnies Can't Slide game. HATE IT!

But now it's finally a true party game. :)

I went and bought this game after hearing such high praise about it and honestly, I'm quite disappointed. The mini-games are fun the first time around but its so repetitive. Plus the fact that most of the games last a few seconds- a minute.
Blah.

Plus, how the heck is this going to work on ps2/xbox? i don't see it happening.

All the other versions of this game are platformers. This is a semi-Wii exclusive. Shares the title with the other games, but different game.

Sorry for the bump up, but I just came from a friend's house and for some reason I couldn't add 3 more controllers for multiplayer. After the 1st selects his character, I have the option of "adding one" but it gives me a message saying that no other remotes are detected and I'd have to pass the remote around in order for others to play.

So how do you set up multiplayer so you have more than 1 remote active?

Hmmm - I dunno, but we had no problem doing 2 player. It might be that the remote has to be on and detected first. In fact, I think this happened once - it was just a matter of pressing 'A' on the second one and getting it to sync up with the Wii. Once it was on with the second light on, it worked fine. If it sees more than one it will let you add them.

That is definitely correct. I had the same problem on Wii sports one time, and just went back to the menu and tried again after we made sure all the controller lights were on and had no problems.

No problems here doing 4 player. Just sync 'em up. :)

Just finished the solo play yesterday. 100%. The last two that gave me problems were the brain marble mazes.

Now on to the score mode.

Still not happening. I held down the 1 &2 buttons during the add a player screen and the remotes won't sync, lights just kept flashing till they shut off. Batteries are new and again no problems syncing with wii sports.

Also, I was in a hurry so I didn't have the chance to try but, did I need to press the sync button under the battery cover?

This game seems like a pick-up-and-play type of game... would I be assuming correctly?

Looks like something to hold me off until WarioWare. :D

As far as pick up and play, Rayman and Wii sports should tide you over. Additionally with Rayman you play the single player to unlock new mini games or play through your favorite ones that you've already unlocked.

Once or twice I'd have an issue where the remotes wouldnt sync. Just unplug it and plug it back in and see if that fixes it.

Splendid. Wii Sports is already great for that, and I play Zelda when I know I have a good hour+ to sit down and play.

Thanks.

I've had a blast playing Rayman 1 'game' day for every 'real' day and I've had a great time with that. I have two days left in the game, and then I'll take a look at the score mode. People might say that it's a short game, but when you don't have more than a few hours on any given day to put into gaming, it's nice to extend the life of a game that way.

I just beat this game and I'm wondering if there are multiple endings to the game. The ending I saw had:

Rayman going back to the picnic site and then getting stuck in one of the Rabbid holes. Then the credits roll, and after that some sheep come back and sniff Rayman.

That's what I got.

Yeah, very lame :( I was really disappointed. I thought maybe you'd get a different ending if you complete score mode or something, but I've been reading around and haven't heard anything of that nature. So I think we're all just S.O.L. on that note. :bomb:

What gave you the idea that there'd be another ending?

Because the one I got sucked so badly.

Ok, so I just got this game for Christmas. I have a quick question: how was your game sealed? Was it sealed tight like 1st party games, or did it have that cheap plastic seal? I hope that makes sense.

Cheap plastic vacupack.

I too got this for Christmas. The game is great but I have one quick question/ problem. Does anybody hear static and popping during the prerendered cut scenes. I noticed this during the Ubisoft logo and the games opening cutscene. It doesn't happen during the in game cutscenes (which seem to take up most of the game) or the gameplay. It isnt really too big of a problem and doesnt really interfere. I would just feel a bit better if someone could tell me this is a problem with the game and not my wii or TV.

Mine had the cheap shrinkwrap seal.

Beat the main game (with 3 dances unfinished) in just under 7 hours of play. So this game is definately short. However the story mode simply allows you to access the multiplayer games. I guess I still need to do a few of the challenges first. Hoping I can do them relatively quickly as I want to get everything unlocked for our new year's eve party.

Out of the games we have right now: Zelda (unopened), Excite Truck & SMB this one is by far my favorite. But I've only played a small bit on SMB and I loved the first & second monkeyballs, so I'm looking forward to beating that next.

For anyone who has finished this: My wife and I are having a terrible time with this baby pig minigame. We're supporsed to be listening for the pig squeal from the Wiimote, but half the time, no sound is coming out at all, and then we get blasted by the Rabbid. The batteries are fully charged, and the speaker seems to work with everything else. Any suggestions?

Ive had that happen many times. I just make sure to slowly go through the menues before it, and not rush it by hitting any buttons. In my head im letting it load all the files onto the remote...its helped at least. I was able to finish them

Finally started playing this game yesterday, it is a ton of fun. Some of these minigames can be a real beeyotch to get through though, but nothing impossible, you can def get some sore arms and wrists after a few of em.

Yes...its the codec they used. Pathetic considering they used actual in-game models in prerendered cinematics, but go figure.

I was really fond of this game. My only real gripes were that the ending was kind of a downer for such a wacky game, it was always a bit disappointing when it turned out a new minigame was just a revamped version of a previous minigame, and there was never a final giant dominatrix bunny boss battle. Also the worm in bunny tooth minigame was really cringe inducing. That said it felt really polished and it was just really obvious the creators had fun making up weird rabbid scenarios.

Is this game worth buying if you're only going to play single player? Not sure if it's worth plopping down $50 for but those damn rabbids tempt me.

Worth $50? I don't know, that's a decision you'll have to make. But yes, it's a perfectly adequate single-player experience. In fact, to be honest, the multiplayer aspect leaves much to be desired and doesn't really add much. For almost all of the minigames, multiplayer simply means "I'll play and then you'll play and we'll compare scores afterwards."

i had a new year's party, and someone brought their wii + this game. Man, this game is so fun. It made me consider buying a wii. The dance minigames are a blast with 3 other people around.

Just a heads up...$29.99 next week at Circuit City. For that price, it's a no brainer to add to your Wii collection.

That happened to me too. Either didn't hear anything or heard grarbled sounds that never happened at the right time. I had to win that one by luck. I dunno what else to tell you.

The soccer one is giving me problems. After the kick, it wont let me aim :(

any tips?

Update: I got through the event but I still couldn't aim. What am I doing wrong?

The pig making the noise game pissed me off because any way I went I would die, my friend got it in like 10 seconds.

The game is good, in short numbers. The minigames are lkike the same thing over and over, the dance things are lame. Then there is a shooting round or racing round. Is there anything else to the game besides that? And how many things do you need to get out the window?

I'm going off memory here, but I think there are 16 days?? Of course, 4 games per day but you only need to clear 3 to get to the racing/shooting level. Most people here think the dance minigame is the best one of the bunch. I think it was entertaining, but not the best (that would be the shooting ones).

On the pig squealing one, I had it work a few times and not others. However, even when it works it is too slow to listen to the cues and you pretty much just need to make a dash for it and get lucky. It took me several times to get through the first version. Bad news - it comes up again! For some reason the second one was much easier - or maybe I was just luckier.

I found the maze ones (both the one where you guide an icon through the maze and the ball tilt maze) to be the hardest. Those were the last ones I managed to clear, but I've got 100% now. I haven't played in quite a while, but will probably get it out again when I get a 3rd and 4th Wiimote.
