Another gay guy I know uses it often enough for it to be notable, and I was wondering how prevalent its use is among gay people.

Not faggit, no. Typically the whole word is shunned because for one reason, it just sounds negative, and two it's sort of like saying the n-word with -er instead of -a. However, gay guys say 'fag' a lot, often to make fun of a guy who's being particularly flaming. Just keep in mind the n-word comparison.

Also like the n-word +a (a white guy calling a black guy it), if a straight guy calls a gay guy a fag and they're not friends, there will be much lisping, 'oh no you didn'ts' and snapping of fingers then calling of big black fag hags and henceforth lack of booty calls for the straight guy for several months.

I like Mozz, but hate his fanbase (except for the Latinos - who I can't figure out why, but generally love Morrissey).
