The Pyro is my favorite class.

There is nothing better than going through a hallway, running into 2 enemies and then torching them both as they wildly fire into the air.
 
I got into an excellent game last night, wound up playing with the same guys for more than 3 hours straight. In the end, we played some weird variation of Hydro where we had 2 capture points and even when one team got both, nobody got any score, and the rounds just kept going on and on. I've had back luck with the Scout, but last night I switched to him, since the rounds were so short and I wound up just kicking all kinds of ass. I'll definitely have to do it more often.

And yes, the Pyro is awesome in good hands.

Does that happen for the rest of you?[/quote]It happened to me after or during every single game I played. Then, after 2 or 3 days, it just stopped and it's been almost perfectly stable since. It's strange, because I got it on Friday and the first time I put the game in my 360, it downloaded a patch, so it's not as if the patch came and immediately fixed it for me.

I'm not a fps shooter fan but I bought this game because I was curious about half life 2. When I stumbled upon team fortress 2, I instantly fell in love with it. This game rocks!!!! I have played several hours and haven't toughed HL2 or portal since.

yeah, It's kinda hard to choose sometimes, but you gotta make time for some Portal sometime. it's frickin' amazing IMO.

Don't forget HL2, it's seriously one of the best FPS games...ever. A bold statement but the engine is just SO good.

I just got this last night, played portal for a bit and then tried TF2 and I was instantly hooked. My major annoyance with TFC was the gernade spamming and now that's gone i'm enjoying the game all that much more. I haven't even played HL2 yet which I probably won't be touching for a while thanks to TF2

I'm a west-coaster so I could do 9:00 EST which is 6:00 PST for me...

what day would be good? anyone else interested?
 
I really like this game, but the lag and constant server problems has but me off from playin it in the past few days. I really hope a further update fixes this and more maps become availible.

I'd like to get a CAG game going, all I ever see you fucks playing is Portal or Half-Life 2. :lol:

And is it just me, or does it seem like everyone is playing player matches rather than ranked? When I search for a quick game, I see maybe 3 games currently being played (has to be more, but it's only showing me that many) and it's always 2 fort. Where as player matches I find a ton of games being played on various maps.
 
People are doing player matches so they can invite their friends.

Plus, you can still get the achievements/stat tracking in player so there really is no need for ranked.

i cant play as much as some of you guys but id love to join in on a cag night.
i really dont play any mp much anymore because i just cant take the live community.

That's it. I'm convinced this game is a shitload of fuck, and it's everybody else's fault. We had all four of our guys standing around our briefcase after we killed the enemy who dropped it. We all stood there together for like 30 seconds, and then everybody just took off except for me. They weren't even shooting at anything. They just took off in the enemy basement's direction. So here I am, standing alone, trying to defend the briefcase, and all of a sudden an enemy scout comes by and sweeps it up. I chase him down and kill him, but I am again alone in protecting the damn thing. But that's not all! This time, the briefcase fell in the water. So, I had to protect an underwater briefcase. Alone. That failed miserably.

They should've just kept the fucking grenades in the game.

For whatever reason, people don't play CTF on 2fort... they just play it as deathmatch. Team play seems a lot more prevalent in the capture maps... especially gravelpit and dustbowl.
 
I love TF2. My most played class is the demoman but I also like the scout, soldier and sniper. My GT is steveCArogers (my favorite marvel hero). I would love to be in on a CAG team fortress night or a clan. Send me some invites so i can start playing with you guys.
 
Damn, that was awesome. I setup a turret in just the right place, and I got nearly 30 kills with that one turret.

We ended up winning, which is crazy because it's not that easy to defend on Dustbowl.

Edit: Double awesome, the game I just played had a bunch of fools rushing, and luckily I was a Pyro and killed 5 of them in 30 seconds to get the achievement. :lol:
 
Picked up the Orange Box today and tried out a couple of games of TF2 tonight. Ohh man, I created a special kind of suck.

I even had trouble with the controls just because I'm used to playing Halo 3. Hard to switch back and force... least for me.
Note to my fellow noobs, don't pick the engineer if you have no idea how to play him. It's not a good experience.
 
I wasnt around last night, but I'll be playing tonight if anyone is getting a game together. I may be able to host, but I doubt I can handle more than 8 people pre-patch. Stupid Comcast.
 
Personally, I think if your going to play TF2, at least start a map on your own server and go around the differnt maps and getting use to the classes. I just played a little bit ago with everybody picking the soldier class because "he had rockets" and i was the only engineer. Placed my sentry gun as it should be and nobody even protected the damn control point. I told them numerous times protect the control point this isnt a team deathmatch! Just ranting here cause it gets me very angry when i say something and they just keep going around killing people when its a CTF match. Im pretty good at this game so please just listen to me when i say "hey we need to get more engineers" Ok.

Sent out a mess of invites last nights to CAG and hooked up with a couple for gaming. My serving is pretty lag free, so I'll try and host again sometime this week and invite all the CAGs I can.

It was good playing with those that I did hook up with (Nelo, Modium)

really? is that true? my damn stats haven't changed in a week! the only time I'vee seen my ranking stats change was when I played a ranked match.
 
btw, if you guys see me on and I'm playing HL2 or Portal, feel free to send an invite, I'll be more than happy to drop out and join in.
 
I seem to run into the opposite problem as everyone else. last night I was the ONLY guy going after the intelligence. everyone else holed up in our fort defending and I was all on my lonesome scoring our only points in the game. it was still fun but I would have liked to have some backup!

You have to learn to check your ego at the door if you're playing with randoms on Live. Some of those guys could have just gotten the game a minute ago... Try focusing less on how awesome you are and just try to have some fun, you might be surprised.
 
To clear everything in the memory go to Tools --> Clear Private Data and check all the boxes. Cookies remember your logins and website preferences so if you clear those you'll have to log in again but I do it just to be safe.

The leaderboards seem like a lost cause as there's perpetually only 5,000 people on there, somehow.

yeah fun games and close matches...also my turret owned but i just had to switch to offense :lol:

that's what I'm talking about as well. those stats have no record of my ever playing an engineer or my kills as a heavy or anything like that. it doesn't record any of the points I've scored in player matches.


am I the only one with this problem?

Yes.It does sound like i have a ego. BUT its hard to enjoy a good game when everybody says "this game Freaking blows im quiting" and then there are two people left still playing against 6. I can understand them getting the game but at least read the manual or open up your own game and test out the differnt classes your self. Im not trying to be a ego monster but i was also ranting. Also it looks like the multiplayer is getting low cause of the halo 3 fever. not that many matches at all.
 
I don't know, maybe I've just been lucky but all the games I've joined have had really good teamwork. Guys as Engineers stay back to setup defense, usually two Medics to support the Pyro/Heavy Gunner, etc.

Although I don't play too much 2 Fort, it seems like teamwork is more prevalent on the Attack & Defend maps.
 
I just started playing this game and I really like it. However, I need some friendly faces to play with. Anyone out there wnat to send a friend invite and show me the ropes?

ugh, just had an awful game with some randoms. I was the ONLY guy (engineer) protecting the intelligence and when I got wiped out by Spy + Soldier combos all I hear is the other guys on the team complaining "C'Mon man! WTF!"

I told them I was the only guy down there but they didn't seem to give a shit, they'd rather just complain when I got killed by the coordinated efforts of the other team. what a bunch of morons...
 
Anyone up for a game tonight? I'm on now and will be for a bit. If I'm playing something else, just send an invite.
