Was LA Noire actually any good?

I think I've narrows down the games I'm getting the next couple months to:

Gears
Dark Souls
Batmang
MW3?
 
I thought LA Noire was extremely boring.


Trying to decide what games to get this month. between Resistance 3, Disgaea 4, Dead Island, and Gears.

Only game I'm most likely getting is WKC II.

A guy I know got Resistance 3 early, and says that after just 1 hour he is already on Chapter 5... fairly sure I made the right choice in only playing Resistance 1.
