The "Rated R Superstar" Edge's Wrestling Thread

Edge was at his best during the "5 second pose" era. He and Christian were funny, and entertaining back then. I liked the Brood, but Gangrel sucked as a stable leader. Edge should have been the leader of that group IMO. I really can't stand Edge at the moment, but I won't dump on him too much since this is your topic.

Edge is following the HHH blueprint...he's obsessed with the title...he'll be hated for awhile..then something will happen and he'll turn face...it's old.. it's played out.. just because it worked with SCSA and the Rock doesn't mean it will work with anyone.. Edge had a good personality... but the crapped on it when they made him obsessed...

I think they had to do that to make him an effective heel though. The funny wisecracking Edge wouldn't have worked. The obsessive title huntin heel was worn out by HHH a long time ago though. You are right about that.

Wrestlers don't have gimmicks anymore, which is part of the reason that it's bland for me. I want to see a police officer vs. a criminal, or a king vs. a clown.

Now it's just "smart alec with a nickname" vs. "buff guy with no personality".

Really, how many smug/sarcastic guys with nicknames does WWE need?
They need a guy that goes out and tries to pants Vince right when he's in the middle of one of his tirades.
Hell, Vince self-pantsed himself. The KMA club?

They need to have a gimmick in which someone runs around and just literally kicks people in the ass when they are doing interviews backstage.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlF0ysPb31Y&mode=related&search=

Raven makes sense, if only for a moment, in a dreadful, yet appropriate, metaphor.
Are there anymore rules videos?

Also, I noticed that when I made a wrestling topic it immediately got people all pissed off. I can't make one because there was already one up, but when someone made a thread on something that I had already started nothing happens. Is that right?

They could bring back Goldust and he could aggressively try to join the KMA club. Only to have Vince terrified and disturbed by Goldie's actions. I think that'd be hilarious.

I do like the idea of someone just attacking people when they're giving a boring interview. Have to be someone really big. The guy could just run in and clothesline the person doing the promo then look into the camera and smile like an idiot. Maybe Viscera could do this... or a developmental talent.
You didn't like Goldust and Booker T? Those segments were some of the funniest on Raw post-Rock/Foley.

i did..but golddust was at his best after he got 'shocked'
That was just ridiculous. I always thought Dustin Runnels was one of the most talented guys on the roster. He was a great in-ring performer, could work the mic and could play a character. I really wish they'd bring him back. Maybe tag him with Cody Runnels for awhile. Dusty could even manage them. No... wait, that'd make too much sense. Instead have the Majors brothers!

Booker T & Goldust, Booker T & Goldust

That was great, why isn't WWE funny anymore... why isn't Raw even entertaining anymore?
i'm guessing that no one wants to be 'the comic relief'
Dunno, but here's one of post-electrocution Goldust for you... with his "relative"

There's another one, that's not as comical since the sketch is with Bubba, but Goldust is dressed up as Ben Franklin and talks about wanting to punch Thomas Jefferson "right in the gonads"

that was classic

I almost hope this is a very tasteless internet rumor, but a few places are reporting that Jeff Jarrett's wife passed away this morning.
Heh, I can picture it now...

Someone interviews Khali. Masked man runs up behind Khali and kicks him square in the ass and runs before Khali can grab the mask, Khali grabs his ass turns around and says fuck! Ron Simmons walks in and says DAMN.

Better yet, hire Beef Wellington to randomly ass punch people backstage, in the ring, wherever.

Comedy gold.

I didn't get pissed off, but what was your topic about? The way things are is that we have 1 wrestling thread at a time. As for other subjects, it varies.

And my condolences go out to Jeff Jarrett and his children. I cannot imagine what he must be going through.

Oh shit. I forgot that today was the 8th anniversary of Owen's death. I still have that PPV on tape from the live broadcast. I remember crying openly at the announcement of Owen's death.

Although, I do not mean to be nitpicky, but supposedly Mrs. Jarrett passed away late last night.

Ugh, whoever said that ONS would be rematches from Judgment Day is pretty much right. They announced Lashley vs. McMahon last night and Smackdown will announce
Batista vs. Edge for the world title after Batista wins a Fatal 4 way #1 contender's match
.

Can't they just get Lashley and
Batista
out of the title picture so more deserving people(CM Punk, Matt Hardy) get the title shots?
Waitwaitwait...

All 3 fucking title matches from Judgment Day are happening again at ONS?

Maybe we'll get lucky and get to see them fight again at the PPV after ONS....
Well, I called it. It seemed pretty obvious to me, what with only 2 weeks between PPVs.
Seriously what is the point? I could see if the JD ppv matches had been stellar and all received 5 stars, but they didn't. So, what is the point in doing them over again 2 weeks later? Who buys this crap anymore anyway?

I'm hoping no one. I'd like to see the buy rates for ONS after it happens. I'd be shocked if 30,000 people ordered it.

I don't expect it to do that poorly - even D2D did three times that amount, and that show had only two matches announced. My condolences go out to Jarrett, who displayed a great deal of love and loyalty to his wife by doing everything possible to stay by her side constantly. That's something we can all learn from.
Jeff Jarrett lost his wife on the eighth anniversary of Owen Hart's death. Weird.
What a coincident.

Man, can't believe it's been eight years ALREADY. Feels like yesterday when I watched the Raw is War afterward.
