Speculation is that CC may be getting in more games from their warehouses, so don't give up. I personally know of 2 CC's that have the games pulled until the sale officially starts, so once again...don't give up! And ladies and gentlemen, don't forget to tip your listkeeper! *cough*Ikaruga*cough*

went to three circuit city's and all i got was GTA collectors edition :)...they didn't have a god damn thing. i'll try another one a little later tho...cuz i'm a sucker for punishment...
 
My Circuit City had the games out in two $4.99 boxes, I was pretty surprised. Unfortunately, there was a lot of crap in there--mostly 2003 sports games.

A couple of games I noticed but that were not on the list

BTW, I went to the Manchester, NH store. I'm thinking I might be the only CAG in this area.

U all know that if ur ass worked at CC, you would be doing the same goddamn thing as Knives -- maybe not in the quantities he is (okay, that is sort of pathetic), but don't lie to me and tell me you would not hide a couple of Rez or Disgaewhateveritis in the warehouse somewhere to sell on eBay later.

It is the luck of the deal my friends, and some days Luck is your mistress, and others she just laughs at you as she pisses on your foot (of course that may be your cup of tea -- diff strokes for diff folks).

Traded the last 3 in and got Skys of Arcadia Legends for GC and still had 1.01 left! Oh and at CC I saw Street Fighter Alpha 3 (GBA) and FF Tactics there still.

I don't know if anyone has said this but there is no way that anyone can have an official list. The list that each store got was just a list of games that is clearence at their store. Their are probably tons of games that my circuit city doesn't have that are clearence at other circuit city's. I just want to make sure that people know this.

were they totally cleaned out? last time i was there was on sunday, and they had virtually nothing left by then.

also, did you happen to ask about the "official" start of the sale on sunday? like if they had games in the back or whatnot? the reason is that i work on sunday, and i'll probably be able to sneak out to get to that specific location, so i'm hoping that they may have some extra games.

if not, that's cool. i know that whenever i go to a store i try not to talk to anyone. but if you have some extra information that would be great. thanks.

Just got back from a CC today -- there was a copy of Kessen 2 for PS2 in their $4.99 bin and it did indeed ring up at $4.99

(as a note, this was yet another person making a trip to the Roseville, MI store) I was told that the few $4.99 games they had in the bin were it (there weren't any more to put out). The bin wasn't marked and was next to a bin of DVD's, so it wasn't an obvious part of the games department.
 
Among the 17 games I purchased today from a large bin at the *La Cienega in LA, CA* Circuit City was Syphon Filter 3, which I don't see on the master list. Please add it.

Can you still even find Frogger Beyond? Isn't it rare or something? I came home and read the reviews...seems like it sucks.
 
the one i went to just now didn't have much...tribes was all sold out (tho i got a copy yesterday since i only had $8 on me at the time)...but i manageed to pick up get grind radio (GBA) and nfl blitz pro (ps2)...
 
I too went to the Wilkes Barre, PA CC this evening. There were two clearly marked bins with quite a few games in them. I picked up 8 games and they had a promo (came in the mail) since it was a grand opening that you got a gift card back for 10% of your 50.00 purchase only valid today 7-7-04.
So 8 games + a coke=50.00, then a 5.11 gift card back, so I got one more game.

My kids are thrilled.
 
After seeing those scan's, I swear Cag's could find Osama if we put our minds to it. That's some great Cag Intel.
 
I traveled back again and found 2 games, both of which I left behind. I think I probably could have walked away from this deal with like 15 games, if I wasn't such a choosy gamer, and if I didn't want to make sure I'd have enough time to play them all.

one of the CCs in my area has been doing this for a week now, according to the employees and have already restocked once. They said that once they are out, they are out. Most of the titles were sports titles, with a LOTR Fellowship and Roadkill thrown in for variety. Guess not all the stores are going buy the "sale starts sunday" rules.

Neeways, I just saw Syberia on "The List", and I just got it today w/o knowing it was 5, and bought it for 20! From what I understand from reading some posts, that new sticker barcodes on the games don't work, and the barcode printed on the case is the actual way to get the game @ 5 dollars. Does anyone know if I can do back and show them this and possibly get a refund or something?
 
that same thing happened to me. i had saw it on the list and took it to the register and it came up to 19.99. i told her that it was on the list and she said well the computer would know.

you are actually in luck, they *should* give you the difference plus 10 percent
so you will get the game for $3.50
 
Here's what I think is weird... Many people here have reported picking up "Gladius" for the XBox for $4.99. I figured that the PS2 version should be the included in the sale, right?

Wrong. It rang up as $29.99 + tax. Kinda strange, if you ask me... Any theories?

It sells better on PS2? Splinter Cell GCN is $5 and Splinter Cell PS2 is $20... go figure...
 
I don't know if anyone else lives in Knoxville, TN, but when I got there, there wasn't much(but, like I said, I found Syberia). If anyone else was @ the East Towne Mall CC, was there anything good there at some point?
 
I just found out the news I didn't want to hear. I found out about the CC sell on tuesday after just going to the store the day before. I have been wanting Disgaea for probably the last two months. So I decided to go back Wed to see if they restocked and they did, but with more crap I didn't want. Nothing was even descent they didn't even have anything worth trading. I asked the guy if he is getting any more shipments by Sunday for when the sell officially starts which is the 11th and he said NO. It pisses me off so bad that I couldn't get Disgaea. If any of you got it and will to trade r sell it, please send me a pm or an email to [email protected]

This won't be a revelation but here is perfect evidence of why you can't trust what employees tell you.

I went to the north Fort Worth location Monday. They had signs up that the 4.99 would not be honored as it was a mistake, and the list of games was not supposed to be that long. As a result they had an awesome selection. Pikmin, Splinter Cell, LOTR, Indiana Jones, Panzer Dragoon etc. I got a handful , paid sticker price and went to another CC that wasn't run by asshats and got a PA.

I didn't have time to go yesterday. Today I go back and guess what. Yesterday they had set up a 4.99 bin and the selection was demolished.

So much for a glitch. Now it's possible that some stuff was put back but I doubt it.

All this makes me ask. Where exactly is everyone getting the 11th from?

I've had people in 2 other stores tell me it was supposed to start yesterday, and obviously the asshat store strated thier's yesterday.

This is basically a clearance that CC badly needed to prepare for the fall. If it is going to be advertised, no stores would be honoring the deal now, in order ro meet demand when the ad hits.

I'm not saying it's not true but I can't help but be skeptical.


Quick thoughts on the employee deal. If the original poster was legit I don't think he literally meant 2 carts. In the case of a clearance like this employees have a right to take advantage of the deal as long as it is not abused.

If you're working at CC and you see Disagea, you know damn well you're putting it under ounter till you can buy it. Now when Halo 2 comes out and people are lining up, an employee would likely be fired for stashing copies. Customers would come first.

Now if Knife has a stack of games in the back for Sunday, then I don't blame him. If he really does have 2 carts then yes that is abuse, and the manger is failing at his job.
 
Well, I went to my local CC here in Orlando, FL (on E. Colonial drive) and the employee told me and my friend that the sale wouldn't start until next week. On the way out though me and my friend noticed this bin with a bunch of games in it, seemed as if it was pillaged to me(kind of like as if there had recently been a sale). We didn't try to buy any of the games because 1. they sucked and 2. there was no sign on the bin indicating that the 4.99 deal applied to the games in the bin. So me and my friend left CC dissapointed and pissed. That jackass better not have lied on the whole "the deal is next week" thing. Me and my friend are gonna hit it early on sunday...

I picked up Rock & Roll Racing for the GBA yesterday at $4.99.

The bin was pretty much picked over, there was one unmarked bin with only a few games in it. I'm gonna check back on Thursday to see if they restocked. (Luckily it's only a block away from work.)

Ahhh, if you're not about burning DC games by now then Virtua Tennis is totally worth the $4.99

So does anyone know if this sale is supposed to really start "again" on 7/11?
 
I guess that's something to do... for all those cc's holding games. Buy it at regular price. Then PM on Sunday. At least you'll know you'll get the games you want.
 
I went into one CC yesterday and the kid working there told me the sale starts on the 11th, but the games are already marked down in the Database.
I went to another CC today and the employees had pulled all the $4.99 games out of their security cases, tagged them at $4.99, and dumped them into a couple of shopping carts. There were also signs up everywhere in the video game sections that said "Limit 3 $4.99 Games".

I think it all depends on which CC you go to...
