Giants Finish Regular Season Undefeated
EAST RUTHERFORD (AP) - The New York Giants put the finishing touches on their perfect regular season earlier this week with a 35-0 victory over the Vikings in a sweaty finale at the Metrodome. The team's success was largely due to the dominant defense of the team, which allowed a mere 7.81 points per game.
Defensive captain and team leader in interceptions Nnamdi Asomugha stated that the team "really took pride in keeping other teams off of the scoreboard."
"Every time we step onto the field we're looking to play smash mouth football and force the other team into mistakes," he said in reference to the Giants' league leading 37 forced turnovers, 36 of which came on interceptions. The Giants as a team were #1 in the league in turnover differential at +18.
"We're certainly proud of what we've accomplished so far, but there's a lot more left to do. If we don't win a Super Bowl this means nothing. I'm so glad I'm finally with a franchise where I will actually have a chance to get a ring, unlike that shithole Philadelphia," quarterback Donovan McNabb announced. McNabb finished the season rated second in the NFL in passer efficiency. [Cutler had 74 touchdowns Ivan?!]
"They might be 16-0, but who cares? They're not in the same neighborhood as us, not even on the same block," Mercury Morris stated at a press conference he held in his basement. He continued on at length about the greatness of the 1972 Dolphins to the crowd of stuffed animals sitting on the folding chairs he had put out.
