The Sopranos season 6 *spoilers*
I am about 99% sure this is the last season. But if it has a very successful run, then who knows.
This was taken off of hbo.com. "HBO announced that in addition to THE SOPRANOS' upcoming sixth season, which will include 12 episodes, HBO will produce an additional eight bonus episodes, to debut in January 2007." So there is your answer.
michael imperioli is always amazing too... when he was talking to the FBI agents about terrorists and he capped off with "As far as Tony's concerned... DON'T get me started!" *flourish w/cig* the guy is a pro

Yeah, what was up with the 2 middle eastern dudes in the Bing scene right after Christopher was talking to the Feds? How are they affiliated with Tony's crew?
Yeah, what was up with the 2 middle eastern dudes in the Bing scene right after Christopher was talking to the Feds? How are they affiliated with Tony's crew?
I don't know but I think something fishy is going on with the feds here, and it's kind of scary. Also lol at the Vito seducing AJ coment.
Yeah..its called..."I'm bringing it up", people may not have noticed it....it was a subtle thing. I thought it was a nice touch that in Tonys dream his own voice is slighty different (along with his life), just like his wife's voice on the phone is Carmella-esque, but it doesn't sound exactly like her...nice touches is all.
Okay, thanks for clearing that up.
I dont care if I am or I am not, he's a perfect example of the directionless kid. Tony, when he was young, had a stern parental life and grew into the family business. Anthony Jr is, no matter how you slice it, just a pussy. A rich kid who gets whatever he wants, lies about everything, etc. I have a feeling he's going to THINK hes "mob material" this season, try to do something Mob-esque, and wind up getting capped or kidnapped. He's no Jackie Jr.....
You make very valid points here, but I don't think killing him off is going to happen. I also wouldn't quite call AJ a pussy since he's going to KILL Junior. You say he's a directionless kid and this may be his calling.
well fuck you very much ;)
LOL! Calm down dude- and then you can go fuck yourself! ;)
Thats you're problem...you're in fanboy-land right now. While the last two showswere good, they weren't great. Seasons 1, 2, and 3 are so good I watch them like once a year.
Yes there's no doubt about it that I'm in "fanboy land" right now, I'll admit the rides are great. Anyway I think I'd be at an advantage since I've seen them all in a big block to be able to decide if some of the later ones were worse. I'll admit that 2 and 3 were my favorites but not by much. Anyway I'm loving this season and to me it sounded like you were badmouthing it so I had to defend the Sopranos.
So you hated the two episodes where Tony has delusions or dream sequences?? You mean...like the entire episode last week? I dont get it....
The Food Poisioning one was hysterical....
Sorry I should have been more specific, those are the episodes I didn't like involving dream sequences and I didn't hate them. The food posioning one was just crazy and it fucked with my head. THERE ARE ALOT of episodes with dream sequences and most of them are entertaining but these two just didn't float my boat. I thought this last episode did a good job in spacing out the dream sequences and they showed a different side of Tony, that's why I liked it. In the others there just a big long single dream sequence and it got boring. So I hope I cleared that up for you.

Awesome episode compared to last week... i'm glad to see tony back in action (well, sort of back in action)

the preview for next week looks amazing though

That was not a preview for just next week.....It was a season preview. Tonight was a great episode.

No it was an episode preview. They did the same thing last week. For some reason they say season but it's definitely a preview for next week. Anyways I can't wait to hear people bitch about how bad this episode was like they've been doing throughout this season.
Anyways I can't wait to hear people bitch about how bad this episode was like they've been doing throughout this season.
the real question is why do you care? It was an okay episode, like I said before I am not fond of the alternative life hospital crap. That is such a tired idea, the other stuff was interesting, but I wont really start enjoying the show till Tony is on his feet again and away from the hospital.

I was hoping they would show his family inside the house. OH well, for a short split second I thought Tony was a goner.
I was hoping they would show his family inside the house. OH well, for a short split second I thought Tony was a goner.
I have a feeling that isnt the last time we saw that house, though they are notorious for having storylines that just randomly end. I also think that was a younger version of his mom he saw

I am pretty sure it was a season preview, the preview for last week did not have everything in this week's episode. And there was too much activity happening during the preview last night for it to be all one episode.
the real question is why do you care?
Um...because I'm a fanboy and I must defend every negative comment that is made about the show. No I really don't care what people think because I love the show, I wan't being sarcastic I really like hearing what people didn't like about it, that's why I come in here and post, for the conversation.
I am pretty sure it was a season preview, the preview for last week did not have everything in this week's episode. And there was too much activity happening during the preview last night for it to be all one episode.
I'm not saying your wrong or I'm right but everything they showed after last weeks episode was in the one this week. (Paulie running down the hall, Sil stading in the mirror with his wife, Carmela ripping the sheets of AJ, Meadow running into the hospital room when Tony's heart rate climbs to over 200, Vito meeting with Phil Leatardo. Anyways only time will tell but I'm willing to bet a lot that next weeks episode will be crazy and that we'll see everything we saw in the preview. It will be obvious when they show a new preview after next weeks show.

All I can say is that Edie Falco had better get an Emmy for this season. She has been turning out some solid performances this season. I think she may be the best actor on the show.

I noticed that Sil's accent isn't as pronounced this season. I wonder what's going to happen now that he's in the hospital, too?

Does anyone else think that Vito might make a move to take Tony out?

I deliberately dont watch the previews for next weeks episode, I thought Carmella ripping the sheet off that loser AJ's bed and dressing him down was sweet, I can't wait for them to kill his character off :D

With Silvio in the hospital, we can expect the next few episodes to degrade into Bobby vs. Vito, inter-family warring, and Tony looking for a way out of the Life based on his experience in his Coma.

IMHO of course ;)

DID NO ONE GET THE "HOTEL CALIFORNIA" refrence?

He was stuck, in a hotel, in california. I thought it was awesome.

Such a lovely place , Such a lovely face

I dunno, maybe I'm wrong... but I figured the creepy sun thing in the horizon outside at night was hell.

my interpretation of that sequence was that tony was stuck in purgatory (since he's catholic) and the light was heaven (walk towards the light). when he finally got to the light, it was filled with (what sounded like) dead family members.

I'm not really liking the way they are taking the show. It all depends what happens from here but right now to me things are not looking good. Episode tonight was kind of a bore.

I think you guys are a little off.

I think the phone, and the light..the beacon out on the horizon, represented consciousness. Like when he was dialing the phone to call...his wife? his kids? I forget..that was him trying to wake up out of hte coma...but he didn't, and he slipped back into it.

I also think the episodes are kind of sucking now...they are one too many episodes into this "Tony Convalesence" thing...3 tops, 4 is just getting dull.
The whole Paulie Walnuts thing was just a waste of time tonight, filler to pad out the episode IMHO.
I am going to disagree with you. Paulie has a big role in the Sopranos and he has been a Mommy's boy, I was very shocked to find out the whole twist with his Aunt. Also tonight’s episode was one of the funniest Sopranos episodes in some time.

Yeah, but it came and went so fast......in fact, the whole episode was full of these small plot issues (Pauly and his mom, the black rapper wanting to get shot, the guy with throat cancer, the garbage business thing. It was like an episode where a LOT of SMALL things happened......where some of them you'd think would take a few episodes to play out.

So it felt like a filler episode.....lots of little crap happens....I guess they are setting up the rest of the season with the uncle Jr thing, the seeming war with new york that looks like its coming, the inter-fighting in tonys crew, etc.

I think it was kind of a collection of examples to show Tony how petty and meaningless so many things in the world really are. With throat cancer guy being the wiseman.

I think you're right about it being an episode where a lot of small things happened, but its one of those "small things that add up to a big thing" kind of episode. I think this experiance gave Tony a moment of clarity, and will be a turning point. More likely a turning point for how he runs his business.

He's shifting from a "closed fist" to an "open palm", but at the end of the day he's still Tony... and he's gonna get shit done. I think he's taken off the blinders, and he'll be a better Boss for it, now he'll be able to look around and see who his wolves in sheeps clothing are, and he'll let them ride for a bit, and strike when the time is right. With what seems like full support from his wife now, as she knows what has to be done. And to a man's moral, having your wife backing your mental stability, with the added clarity... he's probably building up the levee to open the floodgates.

This is a make of brake moment, and Tony knows that. Now he has to get his team back together, or trim the fat.

There are some great, highflying moments of dialogue and intenseness-not always violence-that makes the show great.

But last night, it was an episode of Soaprano, very preachy, and very heavy-handed.
It was basically a soap opera, a very missable one at that. Even the preview for next week looked rather weak.

Yeah not the biggest fan of the last episode, and I'm not holding my breath for next week, but those previews should be taken with a grain of salt.

I've watched the previews this year and what I thought might happen from watching them was usually wrong. So like FrankySox, take them with a grain of salt. I'm not really looking forward to the next episode though.

I especially liked the part when he was sitting outside the hospital, and he told Janice that "everyday is a gift". I think we'll definitely see some changes in Tony's demeanor and his attitude towards Carmella and the rest of his family. He's been taking too many things for granted, and I think he finally realizes that fact.

Anyone else think Paulie is going to get whacked? He has been sucking at his job lately and now he has taken it upon himself to go outside the chain of command. Not good.

Whacked? As in someone putting a hit on him? No....Killed? Probably.........his comment that "Even Family fucks You Over" tends to make me think they're setting him up to be disillusioned, meaning he's gonna turn on everyone and go for himself....or in a moment of decision, make a bad one, and wind up catching some bullets.

Then again, he's such a clown sometimes you kinda wonder how he could hope to do that :)
Anyone else think Paulie is going to get whacked? He has been sucking at his job lately and now he has taken it upon himself to go outside the chain of command. Not good.
By making demands on that kid who's trying to sell the disposal company, I'm sure Tony won't be happy about that. An extra 4 G's a month to him means less for Tony...

It's also interesting that Carmella told Tony not to be trusting Vito...

I don't know what's going to happen but I'm waiting for that damn Russian to show his ugly head. You know the one from season 3 that got away from Paulie and Chris in the woods, or maybe he did die, who knows. What the hell ever happened to that story line. They had a reference to it at the begining of season 5 but never heard anything else about it.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but I took this a different way.

That Tony was all nice to the kids mom "No, NO dont worry NOTHING is going to happen to him".

Then he sends Paulie out to shake-down the kid after he didn't listen to him.

I didn't think that was Walnuts going rogue, I thought that was an order from Tony......and thats VERY Tony...smile and then smack you with someone else's hand :) Kinda like "yeah, Tonys back".

Nope doesn't fit why would Paulie threaten the kid not to tell Tony if that was the case? It was totally a mother issue thing

He threatened not to tell Tony? Hmmm..I must have missed that part in his diatribe....In that case maybe he is going rogue.

*spoilers*

i believe he is extorting the $4000 from the kid b/c he doesn't want to personally pay for his "mothers" retirement anymore. this way, she's still taken care of, but he doesn't need to take money out his own pocket like he has been for years. he's passing the bill onto the poor kid LOL!

paulie walnuts is one of my favorite characters from sopranos :)

:applause: Good point. I think he was feeling guilty about cutting his aunt off at the retirement home when the woman was begging Tony not to hurt her son. Maybe you're right about the extra $4000 going towards her care. It's interesting that Paulie would come up with that number, because I believe that's how much the home for his aunt cost.

Tonights episode was good IMO. Johnny getting took away from the wedding. Tony feeling weak so he beat up his new driver. This is the Sopranos I like Tony in charge and kicking ass.

I enjoyed it, I kept expectin the wedding limo to explode or something. Oh and Meadow is really hot.

That scene with Vito in the gay club was hilarious. At first, I thought he took the gun and left his house to kill the 2 dudes who saw him at the club, to prevent them from telling anyone his secret. Now, I just think he's gonna kill himself...

This season has finally picked up, and it is safe to say that the upcomming episodes look as good, if not better, than this one

I'm really hoping he doesnt kill himself. I think 2 mobster suicides in 5 episodes seems like a bit of a cop-out on the part of the writers.

I think the point is that in the past few episodes, Vito has had some very high aspirations about becomming boss of the family if anything happens to Tony. If it comes out that he's gay, he knows this will never happen.

Plus, I love how the show turns all creepy every time he sees Finn.

Not only the fact that's he's gay (and the rest of the crew may find out), but also because Tony's now out of the hospital. There's no chance that Vito will move up now. Plus, the fact that Carmella told Tony that Vito's one he should keep an eye on. I have a feeling Vito will be gone soon...

Do you think when the guy playing Vito read the script he was like WTF? Why does every other fat ass actor on this show get to make out with wicked hot chicks or get lap dances from strippers and I have to make out with some nipple pierced dude in leather?
