The "Stay Classy, Republicans" Super Nintendo Chalmers Thread

The ignorance is strong in this article.

Bob Deaton, 73, who wore a “Fair Tax” baseball cap, was surprised to hear that there were tax cuts in the $787 billion stimulus bill, which was wildly unpopular with many at the rally even though roughly a third of it was in the form of tax cuts.
“Tax cuts?” he asked. “Where were the tax cuts?”

Yeah, where were the tax cuts? fucking tax and spend liberal Muslim terror....oh wait, there were? Well damn.

Yes there are depascal22. Take Pete Sessions for example:
Rep. Pete Sessions, the firebrand conservative from Texas, has relentlessly assailed the Democratic stimulus efforts as a package of wasteful "trillion-dollar spending sprees" that was "more about stimulating the government and rewarding political allies than growing the economy and creating jobs."
But that didn't stop the Republican lawmaker from seeking stimulus money behind the scenes for the Dallas suburb of Carrollton after the GOP campaign against the 2009 stimulus law quieted down.
Sessions wrote Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood in February urging him to give "full and fair consideration" to the affluent city's request for $81 million for a rail project, according to a copy of the letter obtained by the Center for Public Integrity. His letter suggested that the project would create jobs, undercutting his public arguments against the stimulus.

David Bartholomew, the (now ex-)chair of Virginia Beach's Republican party, resigned late last night, only hours after his racist dog joke email surfaced and everyone got all mad at him. Here's the joke, in case you want to send it to your buddies:
MY DOG
I went down this morning to sign up my Dog for welfare.
At first the lady said, "Dogs are not eligible to draw welfare".
So I explained to her that my Dog is black, unemployed, lazy, can't speak English and has no frigging clue who his Daddy is.
So she looked in her policy book to see what it takes to qualify...
My Dog gets his first check Friday.
Is this a great country or what?
You spent over a half hour googling it and this is the best you can come up with?
In his defense, it isn't like most people understand what happens with overages and why they can't be applied elsewhere in the budget.
In offense to him, dude, fucking wikipedia... c'mon

Had to post this from another forum, hard to believe anyone seriously believes this.

God made Adam And Eve NOT Adam and Steve... I believe gay marriages should be banned. It’s not right. I am a christian and I believe whole heartedly that being gay is just as bad as someone commiting a murder because it is all the same in the eyes of the Lord. Isnt that why Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed? If God meant for men to be with men or women to be with women he would have just made one or the other not both...
Think about it a man and a woman fit perfectly together, thier curves thier bodies everything... but a man and a man do not niether does a woman and a woman...
They say that AIDs was passed though men having sexual relations with other men, of course a monkey bitting them is what spread the disease to man, but i mean come on if that was ok to do why would God punish them in that way...?
Makes me want to bang my head against a brick wall.

I think about the guy saying how "a man and a woman fit perfectly together, thier curves thier bodies everything... but a man and a man do not niether does a woman and a woman" every time I get head.

Maybe we should consider compiling these into some kind of archive.

"Should Muslims be denied the right to run for office because of their religion? No," Phillips wrote, according to the letter, posted by the Minnesota Independent. "The Constitution specifies that no religious test can be used to exclude someone from public office. But when someone adheres to an ideology that says kill people who disagree with you, that is something voters should seriously consider when they vote."
Because no one of any other faith has ever used their religion as reason to kill someone. He's also wrong about him being the only Muslim in congress.

Clint McCance is a board member in the Midland school district in northern Arkansas. Responding to a call to wear purple last Wednesday to support LGBT youth, McCance wrote the following message on his Facebook page: "Seriously they want me to wear purple because five queers killed themselves. The only way im wearin it for them is if they all commit suicide. I cant believe the people of this world have gotten this stupid. We are honoring the fact that they sinned and killed thereselves because of their sin. REALLY PEOPLE."

Full story on the Advocate.

Also: "thereselves." Way to drag that hee-haw accent into the online world.

I don't see the problem with a business suggesting candidates to better the business. They say right in the letter that it's a personal choice and that those are the candidates that McDonalds supports. I know there are those who vote based on what they are told, but in all honesty, those people generally are too lazy to get to the booths anyway. Those who do make it to the booths generally select rep. or dem. based on what they think is the right party for them instead of getting to know the candidates.

I tend to lean more towards the republican way of thinking on a lot of issues, business oriented anyway, and democratic for way of life. I support big business, abortion, gun rights, and gay marriage. Most of all, I support getting rid of political parties all together and going to a no-party system. A third party would just lead to a 3-way power struggle, so I don't support that. I'm with Gov. Ventura, lol.
That letter is just like the letter my parents always got (assume they still get them) from the teacher's union they are part of. No biggie.
You enjoy a lifestyle owed to unions and you're a conservative that preaches bootstraps. Color me not surprised.
Look for this guy to show up later spouting BS about family values and how homosexuality is wrong.
It's a little bit worse than Yahoo let on.
"No because being a f.ag doesn't give you the right to ruin the rest of our lives. If you get easily offended by being called a f.ag then dont tell anyone you are a f.ag. Keep that shit to yourself. I dont care how people decide to live their lives. They dont bother me if they keep it to thereselves. It pisses me off though that we make a special purple f.ag day for them. I like that f.ags cant procreate. I also enjoy the fact that they often give each other aids and die. If you arent against it, you might as well be for it."
McCance was again challenged on his statements — and his Christianity. Wrote one commenter: "YOU NEED TO STOP AND THINK FOR A SEC GREAT YOU BIG CHRISTIAN MAN ! SO KEEP ALL OF YOUR THOUGHTS TO YOUR SELF YOU DONT WANT PPL TALKIN ABOUT YOUR FAMILY SO DONT TALK BOUT OTHERS."

McCance responded with, "I would disown my kids they were gay. They will not be welcome at my home or in my vicinity. I will absolutely run them off. Of course my kids will know better. My kids will have solid christian beliefs. See it infects everyone."

I saw some of that in the first story I read about him, the bit about his family is new. That guy has some serious issues. Maybe he'll be the next homophobe to come out of the closet?

Todd would go on to build a 14-foot fence between the properties to limit McGinniss' ability to peer in to her property -- an act privacy protection that Sarah sees as a symbolic foundation for solving the immigration debate. "I thought that was a good example, what we just did," she says. "Others can look at it and say oh this is what we need to do to secure our nation's border."

fucking hell this woman has a simple mind.
Sarah Palin complains about invasion of her privacy in the first episode of her new reality TV show.

I love irony.
Having a controlled show about you, in which let's be honest, nothing is going to slip she doesn't want to, is not equal to having a reporter (not coincidentally) living in the house next door to you for the sole purpose of studying you.

I am not saying Sarah Palin is the greatest but come on. It would be like some cast member on some reality show complaining that reporters are hassling her at home, is it that hypocritical for her to be complaining? Popular Americans or "stars" in the public eye have to have some expectation of publicity but I think I can sympothize with them when people are camping outside your house.

The guy wasn't studying her. fuck off.

Anyone else looking forward to the W interview with Matt Lauer tonight? I saw one bit advertised where he says "Let me tell you about waterboarding" and I had to go buy popcorn last night to sit and watch this. Pure comedy gold in T-Minus 4 hours
Already read the bit about him personally authorizing waterboarding.
Only in AMERICA!!! can a person admit to ordering torture, being legally responsible and able to be prosecuted for war crimes, walk around with impunity, while some kid in the hood caught with a couple dimebags is sent to prison for years and has his/her life ruined.
And how many lives were saved by waterboarding people who would kill any of us if given the chance?
You tell me. You seem to be condoning this form of torture, explain why the ends justify the means.

Let's say it saves 1 million lives. It makes us a safer country, great. It doesn't make us a better country.

And here I thought you were the guys who were on Team America fuck YEAH. Guess I was wrong.

My point is that these guys are terrorsits who were trying to kill innocent people before they were caught. That pretty much gives them very little rights IMO.
My point is that these guys are terrorsits who were trying to kill innocent people before they were caught. That pretty much gives them very little rights IMO.
that is pretty much the most un-american thing you can say and makes you no better than they are.
No surprise there. I remember some folks here whining about "gotcha" moments, well there is your completely engineered gotcha moment.
I'm just not sure how this congressman manhandling someone sent from the opponent's camp trying to create a "gotcha" moment is all that different than how the Rand Paul supporter manhandled someone sent from the opponent's camp trying to create a "gotcha" moment.

Except, in the first case, it's the congressman himself actually doing the assult.

One interesting thing I noticed about the Bush interview, and I think this speaks not to the guy's character but to an actual illness of some variety; is that when Bush criticizes himself he actually appears to have remorse or at least some outward reaction of an internal realization that he screwed up. When he comments on other people who criticize him, he does that folksy chuckle and waives it off. Unless it's Kanye West, because Kanye is important and needs the attention of the president.

To this day I still don't understand the Bush family's obsession with Saddam Hussein.
