The "Stay Classy, Republicans" Super Nintendo Chalmers Thread

An uncle of mine actually got caught in a police sting when he thought he was going to meet a hooker from CL at a hotel. I still laugh about that.

Do people really think the Patriot Act isn't going to be renewed again? I mean, I'd LOVE for Government to not re-up a bill that gives them more control, but it's not going to happen.

That name itseklf still pisses me off, it was named to make it seem like anyone who was against it wasn't patriotic.

I wouldn't normally do this, but "QFT".

I know it's going to sail through. I'm still happy that it was blocked.
Look at the ‘Don't Tread on Me flag.' It doesn't say don't tread on me, but it's okay if you spy," said Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), one of the most ardent opponents of the Patriot Act. "What the Republican leadership didn't count on is that they have some new members who are freshmen who are conservative, libertarian, who really do believe in civil liberties."
Dogs and cats living together. It'll be anarchy!

Srsly, nice to see some liberal and libertarian motives converge. 122 of the 148 no votes were Dems, though whether they believe it or are just wanting to dick with Republicans will be seen in the real vote.

Cheney surprised a gathering of conservatives on Thursday to present the former two-time defense secretary an award. The vice president joked that Rumsfeld twice served as defense secretary and added that "maybe if we give him a third term, he might get it right."
Man I wish I could have that cavalier an attitude towards the actions people take. "Oh hey Rummie, you'll get it right next time, you only changed the course of history for two entire countries." I swear Cheney thought this was all a big game of battleship.

It's a dog whistle set to the tune of a Sir Mix-a-lot song, I suppose.

"black people have big asses and therefore don't know about eating healthy" is about all I can get out of it.

What is about the ears too? Seems like were on some kind of pattern of presidents being drawn with huge ears.

Isn't something like 2/3s of the nation overweight?

Is it REALLY a terrible thing to take up a cause against that?

You know, Republicans, there's a difference between a closeted Republican taking up anti-gay causes and then being found in a hotel ordering boys versus Michelle Obama being against poor health, ok? See, you can instantly tell by looking at Michelle that she's not overweight. I can't instantly tell that every anti-gay activist dipshit is secretly eating a box of dicks.

Unfortunately I have to wait until he's caught doing that. We're giving you the benefit of the doubt that you can tell she's not a hog monster, and you can't even get that right.

Republican idea of equality strikes again!

Wamack pulled the bill when it was revealed he didn't know how much it cost.

no shit.

this must be what it would feel like to watch pro wrestlers talking about their match before they put it on in front of a crowd.

Here. Fire whoever writes the presidential speeches. And then hire me to do it for half price.

I promise to put "Try the veal! Goodnight!" at the end of every one.
Why can't we give congress a paycut instead?
Especially when they vote themselves a raise year in an year out, but then decry public employee unions for doing the same thing. That's more "stay classy, politicians" than any specific group though...

Better yet, I'd prefer to see them stripped of travel resimbursement. Let's see how much campaigning they'll do when they have to pay for it themselves.

"I never understood why everyone elevated him to the level of a party icon," said 89-year-old Nancy Reagan. "Ronnie was certainly sweet and I loved him very much, but let's face it, he was a terrible president."

Actually I thought congress's pay raises were automatic and they have to vote to stop the automatic raise. Good stuff, makes you feel warm and fuzzy about politicians.

from what I've learned of reading the threads in this sub-forum is that not doing something is the same as doing it so...

I actually wish they'd get their way, because as it is I almost feel like it's a bluff, they don't want to be remembered as the party that caused the unemployment rate to skyrocket. i think the dems should just give them what they want, then make sure everyone remembers who's idea it was later.

You mean like what happened in 08? I wouldn't hold my breath on the dems being able to follow through. From the looks of things, too many dems in Congress are just as beholden to corporate interests as the republifucks. Obama isn't helping either. Bernie Sanders is a rarity for a reason. Meh...call me jaded.

The problem is that, if the republicans did get what they wanted, then it all went south, 10 to 1 they'd find a way to blame it on the democrats.
Damn you're jaded. :)
At 32, I've kinda come to understand a little bit more about cycles and getting more conservative as you get older...not that I'd ever go conservative of course, I'm not brain dead! :D

It comes down to being able to keep as much of the scraps you're getting because no one else will watch out for you except yourself. The republifucks are good at sending that message because they're the ones doing most of the fucking. So while the proles are fighting each other for crumbs, the power elite are laughing while choking on several pies at once. Since the power elite control everything, they make sure to keep the proles as dumb as possible, but not dumb enough to not be able to work for them, and then use the good ole divide and conquer strategy to keep them from rising up against them. Rinse and repeat every generation=the US today.

We maybe in the middle of what looks like a shitstorm now, but by 2050, we'll start seeing the real social effects of the last 100 years of classist and racist legislation. It'll make current problems look like a day in Aruba.
Oh my. Pile up another load of cognitive dissonance for those who love austerity. I wonder what the tax revenue from 700000 to a million people is?
but if they're govt employees, the loss of tax revenue would be a net gain because if you pay someone $30k of other people's taxes, that $30k only generates what, $1,500 in tax revenue? That's a tax gain of $28,500! Woo hoo!
fuck 'em if they need unemployment benefits or anything like that for the two years we're up to now, that'll only cost $25,000 of that $30k so we're still ahead in the long room. Just burn the earth until Jesus comes.

I don't know about you guys, but I know I'm always getting Kenya and Indonesia mixed up, they sound so much alike.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_theti...abee-falsely-claims-obama-was-raised-in-kenya

After the interview made the national news Tuesday, Huckabee's team told ABC News that the governor simply misspoke and meant Indonesia, not Kenya. "Governor Huckabee simply misspoke when he alluded to President Obama growing up in 'Kenya.' The Governor meant to say the President grew up in Indonesia," Huckabee's political action committee director Hogan Gidley told ABC. However, Kenya was under British rule, while Indonesia was under Dutch control.

First comment I saw:

"A unionized public employee, a member of the Tea Party, and a CEO are sitting at a table. On the table there is a plate containing a dozen cookies. The CEO reaches across and takes 11 cookies, looks at the tea partier and says, "look out for that union guy, he wants a piece of your cookie"

HAHAHHAHAHHAHAHA..TROLLED REPUBLIfuckERS!

edit:
Each day under republifucks and conservatards makes me wanna do this:

In most instances, a "person" under federal law includes corporations as well as human beings. However, in a colorful opinion, Chief Justice John Roberts wrote that even if a person might be a company, it did not follow that "personal privacy" includes privacy for businesses.

The Roberts opinion ends in an awesome way:

The protection in FOIA against disclosure of law enforcement information on the ground that it would constitute an unwarranted invasion of personal privacy does not extend to corporations. We trust that AT&T will not take it personally.
That's funny. When I clicked on the link the first comment was "Obama is gay and hates America, get that straight liberalz."
The first one I saw may be better than that:

"0webama's ears are stretched forward from being pulled into George Soros' and Dicky Trumka's laps and servicing them on a daily basis as only a dirty kneed socialist can. Larry Sinclair outed Owebama as a hamster smothering goo-gobbler years ago. No wonder both his drunken Kenyan father and his hooker mom's next husband both abandoned him.

0webama = FAILURE"

I like Hyuck's retraction: how he meant to say Indonesia. Funny that, since he went on for a minute or two in the interview about Kenya-specific actions and happenings and how they tied into Obama's belief systems. AKA, hi Newt.

Ladies and gentlemen, your 2011 Republican primary debates, featuring:

The Mau Mau Uprising now happened in Indonesia. Thanks for the lesson, Huckabee.

Funny thing is, this kind of shit plays SO WELL with the base. You know dudes like thrustbucket aren't swayed against him in the slightest for this magnificent fuckup. Chances are he's probably even more in love with him now.

Can't say I'm familiar w/ Obama's motto foible, but if you want to compare an at length discussion of Kenya and Kenyan history to a slip of the tongue, then be my guest. You do know you're being deliberately dishonest. As long as you're up front that you're not interested in honesty, but instead stretching logic to the absurd lengths in order to fit another apples-to-oranges comparison into a "ha! they do it too! so, um, stuff!" argument...then I'm okay with whatever pablum you have to type tonight.
