The "Stay Classy, Republicans" Super Nintendo Chalmers Thread

She (and a few others) think that because the vaccine prevents a disease that is commonly transmitted sexually, their children should not receive the vaccine because it encourages sexual activity.

If Merck had not had given Perry funds, do you think Governor "I want to make government as unintrusive as possible" Perry would have signed this bill?

Or some other dumfuckery.

Santorum (I hate to say it) addressed it pretty well. Kids in schools are in close settings and so vaccines for easily transmittable diseases.

The argument they make is that a vaccination for a disease that is usually spread in a certain way is condoning that behavior.

Truer words have never been spoken.

No, he probably wouldn't have, but then I don't really care about why he did, just why it's a big deal to require it anyway. I swear the conservative brain is so fucked up. no birth control because it promotes sexual activity? You know what else does? Hormones, stupid. People fuck, get over it.
This is about the 70th reiteration of this theme and I do not expect thrust to make an actual answer.

If you thrust were able to hold your breath and magically make things the way you want but you then get some horrible disease which you cannot afford treatment for (the magic ran out).

Would you be perfectly alright with dying? Would your last thoughts be all happy and content?
Way to prove me wrong thrust.
Way to prove me wrong thrust.
I'd also like to hear Thrust's response but maybe for different reasons.

IMHO he's the smartest conservative by far. I also think he's the truest libertarian - he's kind of like the Ron Paul of the board.

What the Christmas Crunch? Is eating a corn dog the 2012 election cycle "flag lapel pin?"

"Obama has never been photographed eating a corn dog; why does he hate our freedom?"

Who the hell eats like that? Was he trying to swallow the thing?

I think they're just doing this shit on purpose now.

I still think corndogs/pronto pups are the most disgusting things in the world. Hot dogs are good. Cornbread is good. Hot dog trapped in cornbread with a stick up its arse is not good.

not quite the most disgusting variation on this "portable meal" (because we can't sit down and eat like adults with dignity).

The breakfast sausages wrapped in blueberry pancakes (full disclosure: I've never had one) have to, have to, HAVE TO be worse than corn dogs.

And they're also unamerican.

Do you just like to nibble around the edges clak? :)
Progressives hate corndogs...and therefore America as a whole.
Not true, I like corndogs. In fact I almost got into an altercation with a fast food employee over one once.

Little Johnny was in class when his teacher asked everyone "If there were five birds on a telephone pole, and I shoot two of them down, how many are left?" Little Johnny raised his hand and said "Zero." The teacher corrected him with, "No, there would be three, because five minus two is three." Little Johnny said, "No, all of them would fly away after a gun shot, so none would be left." The teacher thought about this for a second and decided it was acceptable, telling Little Johnny "I like how you think."

Little Johnny then said, "Ok, then here's a question for you. There are three women on a park bench eating ice cream cones. The first woman keeps making small licks. The second is shoving the whole thing in and out of her mouth. The third one is biting it. Which one is married?"

The teacher finally said "It just be the second one."

Little Johnny said, "No, it's the one with the wedding ring on her finger, but I like how you think."

Just wait until we get a pic of Romney eating one harmonica style.

I accidentally bought the maple syrup flavored morningstar sausage and it was pretty good. Nothing I'd eat on a regular basis but they taste better then you think.

I didn't think the debates could get any more conservative. But after 30 minutes the type and tone of questions and the results make the previous debates look like liberal conventions.

The highlight was when the audience booed the super jacked gay soldier in Iraq that asked if they're re-instate DADT. Question was directed to Santorum and of course, he said he would re-instate it cause soldiers shouldn't be having or talking about sex. Good answer there skippy!

It just seems like each debate is trying to out due the last. I am waiting for them to boo feeding starving orphans. Seriously they are turning shit upside down...who would have thought we would see the day where a soldier would be openly booed and mocked at a Republican debate?

It was right to boot DADT, but on a pragmatic note, it would have been an excellent way for people to get out of the military if a draft were reinstated.

Apparently, they hate $$$s more than they desire to kneel before the military.

A bunch of people were cheering about allowing someone without health insurance to die, so I'd say we're already there. I believe this falls into the pervue of "personal responsibility."
It was right to boot DADT, but on a pragmatic note, it would have been an excellent way for people to get out of the military if a draft were reinstated.
This is true, but there are other ways of getting out of a draft that are far less harmful to those that are already serving.
I still don't understand how nobody is calling allowing people to die from lack of health insurance a moral hazard?
No one dies from a lack of health insurance.

They die from a lack of health care.

Which, of course, is one of the many reasons why so many people are looking at this entire "Health Care Reform" situation the wrong way. We don't need to reform the health insurance industry - we need to reform health care.

The problem is, though, that I - and so many others - don't trust our government to do it right.

Okay, lack of health care is a moral hazard. So how do you suggest we get a good health care system for all citizens without said govt?

Simple solution: as long as you and those people don't vote, it's not a problem.
Simple solution: as long as you and those people don't vote, it's not a problem.
Not really. When someone goes to Washington, they're longer answering to you, the voter. Who do you think a politician will give more attention to? Someone who voted for them 6 months, or someone who gave them a steak dinner last night?

Except the people I vote for are the ones who don't get into office.

Corn dogs are disgusting, and you aren't funny.;)

It's funny, for people who are always talking about "the will of the people", when they don't get elected (or their candidate doesn't) they blame it on some boogeyman who's brainwashing everyone. If "the people" don't elect Paul or whomever, then "the people" didn't want them.

98% of people are uneducated idiots so who they vote for really does not say much(not I am not saying this means I support Paul, just that who voters put in office is hardly Representative of anything but voter stupidity).

I'm just saying, people vote for who they want, whether it's an informed decision or not. If you're going to constantly beat that "will of the people" drum, you best shut the fuck up when "the people" don't do what you want them to.

Everyone should read "The wrecking crew" by Thomas Franks.
So how's those people you put in office doing for you?
Just fine, I'm happy with who I elected. Course it helps to be living in an area filled with policy wonks that's also one of the smartest cities in America.

These have been getting some traction lately so I thought I would drop these here to keep the fires on this thread stoked.

Apparently both Ayn Rand and F.A. Hayek both used social security and medicare when they got sick, while at the same time trying to tear the systems down. This just seems really classy and it's good to know that people like U.S. Representative Andy Harris have a beautiful legacy to live up to.

The first is new to me, but that bit about Rand was reported on a while ago. So yeah, both hypocrites, not surprised.
