That dude was like an institution on CAG. Between the blatant flipping and being banned from gamestop, he was as infamous as gargus.

I think I'm going to make a memorial thread for all the CAGs banned this year...hahaha
There are so many voter suppression stories popping up this weekend. Here's a few:
I googled, "lady where slidecage lives changes votes to Obama" but came up empty.
Glenn Beck literally just said to take your kids out of school so that they don't get indoctrinated.

Sometimes I can't tell if he's hyperbolic for entertainment purposes or if he's actually 100% insane.

Can't wait to hear Rush's opening rant today. I hope he cries.

What time does he start? I will plan my errands around it so I can get a good laugh in. No matter what these guys say you know they love Obama winning. It's like printing money for them.

Yeah, it's just like how comedians were making a killing when Bush was in office and conservative wingnuttery.

11am CST

Not much crying yet, but plenty of angry bravado.

What really kills me is how they rail against 47% of the country not paying income taxes, but then advertise a company that will negotiate a lower tax bill for you if you don't pay your taxes...
Like seriously, wtf?!

It's a shame we can't learn who of them voted blindly without knowing, and who of them voted despite knowing.

Sadly, there are likely some voters that voted for him because of those comments, either fully believing he was accurate or wanting to.

Chicken Littleism reloaded.

Thats right , dont wait to see what kind of group plan Insurance companies are going to bundle prior to ACA going into effect. Dont wait for the fire sale at all, just fire a bunch of people.
On a personal level , Lord knows that when I get the flu , I'm impatient and I honestly weigh the options between Robitussin and cyanide.

Petraeus Resigns Over Affair With Biographer
By Fred Kaplan | Posted Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at 5:26 PM ET

The woman with whom Gen. David Petraeus was having an affair is Paula Broadwell, the author of a recent hagiographic book about him, All In: The Education of General David Petraeus.

Petraeus resigned as CIA director on Friday, citing the affair. In a letter to his staff, Petraeus wrote:

"Yesterday afternoon, I went to the White House and asked the President to be allowed, for personal reasons, to resign from my position as D/CIA. After being married for over 37 years, I showed extremely poor judgment by engaging in an extramarital affair. Such behavior is unacceptable, both as a husband and as the leader of an organization such as ours."
Sources tell me that President Obama, who has been getting along with Petraeus very well in the past couple years, agonized for 24 hours over the letter of resignation before accepting it. The move no doubt ends the career of the most famous, and perhaps most strategically astute, American military commander in decades.

Petraeus has attracted detractors, fellow officers, and some senior White House aides who regarded him as a “showboat” and excessively ambitious.

It had long been rumored that something was going on between Petraeus and Broadwell. Her book, co-written with Vernon Loeb, is widely regarded as a valentine to the general. When she was embedded with him in Afghanistan, they went on frequent 5-mile runs together. But Petraeus went on 5-mile runs with many reporters, and few people who knew him took the rumors seriously. In his personal life, he’s always been seen as a straight shooter, a square. Few could have imagined that his end would come as the result of a morals scandal.

This belongs here, right?

Ok now I hate to be "that guy" but I present some evidence when you consider the Petraeus affair.

Can you really blame the guy?

I really dont mind affairs. I'm trying to destroy that traditional marriage, after all. Though it is mildly unnerving for adulterers to have CERTAIN attitudes about it.
I'm going to be that guy and say "yes."
Fair enough.

I just think a year in Afghanistan with that woman and I just can see how it happens.

Yeah IDK , .. I'm sure she was the hottest piece of ass in the Generals immediate vicinity while in Afghanistan. (Aka last call girl)

What about that title of the book: All In: The Education of General David Petraeus

I mean the jokes just write themselves.

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but a dude who has been head of institutions that commit unbelievably evil acts on a daily basis resigns because his conscience strikes when he bangs someone who isn't his wife? lolol

He probably views the army/cia actions as duty, much like being faithful to his wife.

Well lets put it this way: Can I blame him? Sure. Not because I believe in the sanctity of marriage crap, but because it's unfair to the person they're with especially if it's a monogamous relationship, but do I care? Not really. Hell, marry and get divorced every other week for all I care. It's not like he's pushing any kind of morality on me.

edit: Oh, and the time he spent banging the reporter was time that his wife could've gotten her cougar on. Just sayin'

Holy crap, WHAT:

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/07/15/magazine/a-message-from-beyond.html

MY WIFE’S LOVER

My wife is having an affair with a government executive. His role is to manage a project whose progress is seen worldwide as a demonstration of American leadership. (This might seem hyperbolic, but it is not an exaggeration.) I have met with him on several occasions, and he has been gracious. (I doubt if he is aware of my knowledge.) I have watched the affair intensify over the last year, and I have also benefited from his generosity. He is engaged in work that I am passionate about and is absolutely the right person for the job. I strongly feel that exposing the affair will create a major distraction that would adversely impact the success of an important effort. My issue: Should I acknowledge this affair and finally force closure? Should I suffer in silence for the next year or two for a project I feel must succeed? Should I be “true to my heart” and walk away from the entire miserable situation and put the episode behind me? NAME WITHHELD

Don’t expose the affair in any high-profile way. It would be different if this man’s project was promoting some (contextually hypocritical) family-values platform, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. The only motive for exposing the relationship would be to humiliate him and your wife, and that’s never a good reason for doing anything. This is between you and your spouse. You should tell her you want to separate, just as you would if she were sleeping with the mailman. The idea of “suffering in silence” for the good of the project is illogical. How would the quiet divorce of this man’s mistress hurt an international leadership initiative? He’d probably be relieved.

The fact that you’re willing to accept your wife’s infidelity for some greater political good is beyond honorable. In fact, it’s so over-the-top honorable that I’m not sure I believe your motives are real. Part of me wonders why you’re even posing this question, particularly in a column that is printed in The New York Times.

Your dilemma is intriguing, but I don’t see how it’s ambiguous. Your wife is having an affair with a person you happen to respect. Why would that last detail change the way you respond to her cheating? Do you admire this man so much that you haven’t asked your wife why she keeps having sex with him? I halfway suspect you’re writing this letter because you want specific people to read this column and deduce who is involved and what’s really going on behind closed doors (without actually addressing the conflict in person). That’s not ethical, either.

so I know this is old, but it pertains to the GOP so that means it's current from what I understand:

Fort Hood = Workplace Violence

I hear that one a lot but I have never once seen it in print outside of the bubble. What's it all about?

The implication is that the Obama administration refuses to call it an act of terror and refers to it as an episode of workplace violence. Hannity drops that little nugget almost twice an hour but I've never actually seen or heard anything in reality about it.

Hey dipshit, I said that's WHY I haven't heard it, I haven't actively gone looking for it.

Damn lack of reading comprehension in people these days..

You said that you hadn't heard of it because you don't watch fox news. I simply demonstrated that your assertion was invalid as 1) it has gotten coverage from places other than fox news and 2) you could have gotten a full background on the situation with a 3.2 seconds of google search.

After having read that it seems that "workplace violence" wasn't used to actually describe the attack, but rather that the military though it needed to step up efforts to stop workplace violence. Also, it would seem that technically the shooting doesn't meet the definition of terrorism. The more you know...

It looks like it's a bit hard to classify, as one of the requirements for terrorism is that the victims are non-combatants. The issue that some of the victims have is that since they were not deployed it's not being treated as being injured or killed in the line of duty.

Personally, I think that it is closer to terrorism than 'workplace violence', but whatever.

so the Bush appointee deems it not terrorism and the next closest application in the rigid military manual is workplace violence. Luckily there's a black guy to blame it on!
Classy!
Holy fuck...

Other parts of the transcript reveal patients who said they had sex with the doctor also claiming he wrote them drug prescriptions.

This state never fails to amaze me. We'd elect anyone who claims to be a good christian and opposes abortion, or at least says they do.
