We appreciate you helping keep this thread up to date. The sales change virtually every day so no one person has the time to update them all. If you notice a game is no longer on sale, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see a game is on sale, add it to the list. Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.

Several multiplayer Steam games are available in 2-packs or 4-packs. These packs offer a discount over buying multiple copies of a game separately. We also maintain group buy trade threads for several games, so please use those threads if you're interested in setting up a group buy.

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card.
The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

Assuming this is the last day of new deals overall I wasn't overly impressed with the sale. Amazon and other outlets pretty much destroyed their discounts on most major titles. While they expanded the number of days a lot of the dailies had filler deals of fairly marginal indie titles. Last year's Holiday Sale that included 5 for $5 indie packs was much much better. The gift promotion was far too arbitrary. Yes, some people got some solid games but others got basically nothing. Preferred the Summer Sale where at least you know you got some decent prizes.

By the way, I'm debating LA Noire horribly - Will I play it before the next sale? It seems like a no-brainer at $12.49, but I'm still conflicted.

I am debating the same thing. Although checking the Steam forums there seems to be a lot of issues with the PC version of the game.
 
What are the separate soundtracks for the Bit games? Do they contain additional music you can add to the games or do they just have the same music available in the games that you can listen to outside of the games?

So I think Utopianmachine said Hoard is great. How are the expansions? Or is the main game really enough?

If the only Might and Magic game I've ever played is Clash of Heroes (loved it), would i find HOMM 5 interesting?

If you haven't done it, I say hang onto them and trade them for something worthwhile.

The coal-hoarding folks will appreciate the coal, and you'll get something better than a coupon.

Dang it, I was too late on my post. Valve is definitely having a field day - They expected last minute crafters.

I still recommend seeing what people will give you in the trade thread, though.

Wow, did they run out of everything else?
I much prefer the summer sale. They may have not been the best of prizes but you at least knew what you were working towards.

Hell they could at least give out other coupons though. Found people on the Steam forum that are having the same thing happen when doing coal today. One guy had 10 Valve coupons in a row. Definitely nothing random about these drawings at all.

That sucks. Seeing as all I got was coupons too, I'm glad I didn't spend a whole lot of time with the achievements this time. Ended up playing Batman most of the time instead :)

Getting Batman for 50% off on Steam made the whole sale worthwhile IMO. Such an awesome game.

Dark Messiah is a FIRST PERSON/RPG game, so it is nothing at all like the Heroes series. Having said that, it is a game that I always recommend anyone pick up if they are at all interested in the FPS/RPG genre. For the price it is amazing and it's a title that flew under the radar of most on release.

Unless it's stackable with another coupon (i was already awarded 50% valve) I'm really not getting anything worthwhile from the "gift" pile.
 
Hoard is a fun little game. It and the others achievements for today got me 4 coals.

I didn't get Rochard. My backlog is already full of fun little indies. I haven't even touched Cave Story+ yet.

It was apparently super buggy on release and got a bit of a bad name because of it. But yes, it is freaking awesome. I have said before that Elder Scrolls with Dark Messiah's combat system would be amazing. Also the multiplayer can be pretty darn fun until one team levels up a bit faster. After that it becomes impossible to beat them.
 
Only 66% off on Daggerdale is a joke. That game is beyond horrible, buggy, and unsupported. Even $2 would be debatable for it.

Yeesh, I kinda wish I could get my money back on bit.trip beat. I figured since I enjoyed runner, beat would be a no brainer. But this game feels super laggy, no matter how I adjust the sensitivity - to the point that it's practically unplayable. And it's definitely not my rig, I'm running games MUCH more intensive than this at high quality.
 
I picked up Hitman: Blood Money since I played that ages ago and thought it was great.

Are any of the other Hitman games worth picking up and playing?
 
I'm not so sure if tomorrow will be a recap day.. They've already given us an extra 4 hours every day to get previous deals, doesn't make much sense for them to give us another day after already giving us 4 hours every day.
 
I'm considering getting counter strike but I'm not sure weather to get the counter strike pack or just cs:s. Any opinions?

I just beat it this morning. It wraps the story up (things get pretty wacky), but most of the puzzles are pretty easy. There were a few that I got stuck on, but they were the vast minority. Still, I enjoyed my 4ish hours with it.
 
Indie Royale is releasing a "New Year Bundle" soon.

I've been passing on most of these Steam indies because I'd rather get my indie fix via bundle.

Each day of new deals has also brought new objectives though. There are no new objectives tomorrow so I wouldn't think there would be any new deals either. Unless there are no daily deals at all I would bet on a recap day.

One thing that points towards a recap day is that they've run out of gift achievements -- at least according to that wiki.
