We appreciate you helping keep this thread up to date. The sales change virtually every day so no one person has the time to update them all. If you notice a game is no longer on sale, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see a game is on sale, add it to the list. Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.

Several multiplayer Steam games are available in 2-packs or 4-packs. These packs offer a discount over buying multiple copies of a game separately. We also maintain group buy trade threads for several games, so please use those threads if you're interested in setting up a group buy.

There are several free games and mods on Steam. These are a few choice ones; you can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card.
The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

Opposing Force CD-keys cannot be registered through Steam. Opposing Force was included in a retail Half-Life package. The Half-Life CD-key included in the package will unlock all of the games in that package, including Opposing Force.
Note: Only the retail games listed above can be registered through Steam. No other retail games can be registered and downloaded using Steam.

Can't blame them too much, being the most popular online marketplace can usually mess servers up pretty badly. I mean, just look at how many times Reddit is knocked down just on regular posting days.

I think the site is still working through things. Some of the games on my wishlist keep getting discounted and then they go back to full price. It'll work out in a bit.

Damn these Indie Bundles on the site. I already own half of the games in each bundle and don't want to spend $20 on five games I may or may not like. I mean a $10 humble tip for charity is fine but not a complete $20 risk for 5 games.
 
the indie game bundles are a little bit pricey this year each one is $20 for 10 games, I own at least 2-3 games in each bundle so I'm debating whether or not I should get them

Portal 2 was 75% off, and the first mission in the holiday sale gives you a 33% off coupon good for any Valve game. I was ALMOST about to check out, getting the game for $4.94, when they decided to make it 50% off. Thanks a lot. :(
 
I think I'm going to wait on checking the Steam page for a couple of hours until they fix all the issues out of the sale roll-out.

i'm really tempted by that Square Enix Complete. Was going to buy Deus Ex: Human Revolution anyways... soooo tempting. Human Revolution is like a FPS RPG right? Kinda like Dead Island in that respect?

I would love that. Even $5 I don't mind throwing my cash at it. Just not for $20 since I own half of games in the bundles.

Do missions, level up, pick upgrades like see fuckers through walls and shit. Most objectives have multiple paths like go stealth or just fight. The "choice" aspect of it is flimsy and it's basically a dumbed down version of the original Deus Ex. It is one of the best games of the year, though.

Let me explain Deus Ex. Lets use an example. You have to go into a building and get x item or talk to x person. There is usually like 2-4 ways to enter a building, when you enter the building there is like 5+ ways to kill a guy.

Think of a FPS that is linear objective wise but open ended in the options you have to kill people/complete objectives. Plus the upgrade system is awesome because you get to choose how you play the game. You can be stealthy, hacker, run and gun. It's real open ended and fun.

my coupon was 50% off any valve game, and is only valid between jan 2nd and march 1st 2012

either way it does suck that they decided to move portal 2 to just 50% off.
 
Damn, all 4 Runaway titles for $12.50 is a great deal for me. I have never played the series and I can't beat that price to hop into it. As soon as Steam lets me, I will be buying it. :D
 
Pretty neat deals today but Steam is too glitched up the ass to really browse em right now. Gonna wait till the crowd cools down. :bouncy:
