We appreciate you helping keep this thread up to date. The sales change virtually every day so no one person has the time to update them all. If you notice a game is no longer on sale, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see a game is on sale, add it to the list. Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card.
The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

Opposing Force CD-keys cannot be registered through Steam. Opposing Force was included in a retail Half-Life package. The Half-Life CD-key included in the package will unlock all of the games in that package, including Opposing Force.

How can you be disappointed? I own everything on valve complete except L4D. Im super happy with the trade and I made sure the dude was too. It worked out great just when I was losing hope of making a trade. Im happy lol

Got more coal and Civilization V vanilla version for today's achievements, guess I'll read a few reviews to see if I want to keep it or trade it away. Is it kinda like a much spiffier version of Age of Empires?

It's turn-based, not real time. It's slower than age of empires, but there's something painfully addictive about it. You just keep playing.

I have 2 copies of Nuclear Dawn for sale. I will sell each for $3.75 gifted via Paypal. I'm also interested in Payday the Heist, I'd add some stuff to sweeten the deal of course.

Psychonauts was an objective on the 20th; you should've gotten credit for it already.

So just my guilty brain then. I did trade some coal for a cheapy game I wanted, though, and it's an objective today (Demo Inc)!

Nothing for me today. Alice looks like a fun game but with my backlog I'm not willing to pay more than 5 euros. I already own Fallout 3 on the xbox and still need to finish it. I can't get myself to go through the game again I think. Not with RAGE also in my backlog and having pretty much the same setting (as well as Borderlands, that I also still have to finish).

I'll just add my support for Company of Heroes here. An excellent RTS. One of the best in it's genre that has come out since it has. I'd buy it if I didn't already own it. I also own physical copies btw. That's how awesome it is.

On another note: I have a feeling that if you get your holiday achievement before they actually come out, you will always get coal. It has been that case so far with me. Thoughts? Or someone who can prove me wrong?

Seems to be glitched for some people, just got it unlocked by restarting the game and it eventually appeared while on the menu.

Like in the wiki for achievement says, if it doesn't appear instantly, try playing normal campaign, restarting the KringleJammer or just restart the game.
Same thing happened to me with the Spiral Knights achievement...

It's weird that cave story and Psychonauts have X-mass day achievements, but they aren't in the great gift pile today.


I would like to get Alice, but if it doesn't have gamepad support I'm passing on it.
 
I'd guess they're not event achievements because they can't be done any other day than today (without fiddling with your system clock).
 
Didn't want to fiddle with the trading forum today, so I gave up and crafted my last 7 coal. Got Defense Grid. Not the most valuable game, but at least its actually good.

Yeah, I want to buy all the DLC for New Vegas, but I'm holding out to see if it's a daily deal.

I recommend Nuclear Dawn for $5 (or less if you get in on a group-buy). It's a very fun game with lots of potential. I'm a firm supporter of the game.

If you don't have it already you can trade it at the CAG trading forum, some people want it.
 
Well I bit the bullet and bought Skyrim. My nephew gave me a $25 Vanilla Visa Gift Card (and I gave him a 4000 XBox Points card) and used that for Skyrim (and a copy of Alice) for $22 and change.
 
Anyone have additional information about DOTA 2?

I've seen some tempting offers for the game and wanted to try it out...

The thing is I'm not sure how the final product of the game is going to be, as far as I'm concerned, for this event they're giving it as a gift, different from the one obtained from the Hardware Survey Beta keys.
But both of them will add on your library and be beta keys (?), since the final product is not finished yet. I've read that the gift one from the event is the retail one, and the one from the survey will just become useless as the final product is released...

But, what if the final product is actually F2P? A lot of people are trading them like crazy and requesting a lot of "high price" games for it like Skyrim, Batman, ...
I don't know if the final game is going to be F2P or have a lower price, since the MOBA market in Asia is much bigger than in the West. Valve might want to make the game have a lower price or just make it F2P, for the thousand/millions of PC Bangs (LAN center) to prevent massive piracy of the game.
From what I've read not long ago + the million dollars tourney aka "Valve's way to advertise their new game and inject money to the competitive scene", Valve seems to be interested in "expanding" the game to Asia or make it more global. Since Valve haven't make any comments on this subject yet, it all come to speculations.

Don't get me wrong, you're free to do whatever you want with your games and wallets, but it'd be wise to inform oneself about the subject better than regretting later.

I have not played them so take this for what it's worth, but I've read numerous times that Terran Conflict is the latest one, and the only one you really need if you're only getting one. Someone else who's played them may wish to chime in, though, in case I'm wrong.
 
I bought Company of Heroes ages ago when it came out and then rebought it for $5 from the D2D is Five sale a couple of years back because it came with all but the last few small patches baked in. My 1.0 DVD required something like 16(!!!) patches weighing over 4 gigs to be downloaded and installed to get it updated because Relic refused to make roll-up patches. It was ludicrous. I posted the patching sequence here once to just prove how retarded it was.

As for the game, I can tell it's really good, but I never got too far in it because I pretty much suck at RTS games and quickly lose track of what's going on. If you've got a beefy enough rig, it looks really pretty though if you drop the camera down to the ground and look across the battlefield it will tank your frame rates hard, but it's an RTS not an FPS so you shouldn't need to be looking that way anyway.

Nothing for me with today's sales - already have what I'd want. Batman is a no-brainer for $5; heck, it's worth the normal $20. Same for Fallout 3, though they've had the GOTY for $10 before. Got an automatic lump of coal for having 10 items on my Wish List. Bother.

Thanks for the tip but he didn't want to trade for it. He just wanted someone to give it to him. Offered me a lousy coupon or a buck or two. I'd rather give it away to someone on my friends list than essentially give it away to someone I don't know. I ended up dishing off both copies though. Gifted one to a friend that had it on his wishlist and traded the other for Hard Reset.

Anyway, here is hoping LA Noire goes on sale as a daily soon!

Oh hey, I just got Killing Floor, Portal 2, and Vegas: Make It Big from the three achievements I had done for today. Pretty nice. ;)

Might pick up the X Superbox and a Dungeons Twin Pack (works out to $5.62 per copy, nearly half the price of a single copy) in today's deals. I'm on the fence about Nuclear Dawn. It'd work out to $3.75 per copy for a four pack, and it's only $3.99 on Amazon with the $5 promotional credit. Think I'll probably go with the credit bonus...
 
I thought about Fallout 3 GOTY, but then I realized it'll probably be cheaper by the time I get around to it. I'll be busy with objectives for a while, anyway.
 
Speaking of Christmas achievements, I'm not sure how I'll ever get Christmas marked off for the Calendar Man achievement in Arkham City since I always come home for the holiday!

Just did the holiday achievement for Aaaaaa. Level 5 is fucking brutal, but after doing this achievement I fell in love with this game. It's like pilotwings, well a skydiving part of it, and well it's just awesome.

Gonna do the Rusty Hearts one next (since it's installed). During the week I might download the other F2P ones.

Everyone keeps saying that, yet I've put up my coals in countless threads and no one seems interested in them.
 
The value of coal drops day by day, so it's more and more difficult to get what you want without an assload of coal in your inventory.
 
Trading for AAaaaaah for the Awesome was a good run. Aaaah is fun but it allowed me to not spend money on a "pseudo-sequel" full-priced stand-alone expansion pack or on an indie game or on a game with such try-hard humor.

Fun game though.
