We appreciate you helping keep this thread up to date. The sales change virtually every day so no one person has the time to update them all. If you notice a game is no longer on sale, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see a game is on sale, add it to the list. Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.

Several multiplayer Steam games are available in 2-packs or 4-packs. These packs offer a discount over buying multiple copies of a game separately. We also maintain group buy trade threads for several games, so please use those threads if you're interested in setting up a group buy.

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card.
The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

Opposing Force CD-keys cannot be registered through Steam. Opposing Force was included in a retail Half-Life package. The Half-Life CD-key included in the package will unlock all of the games in that package, including Opposing Force.

This never worked for me. I changed my address to a valid US one but since my credit card is still Canadian, I get refused halfway through processing the payment.
 
Just did the Rise of Immortals achievement.

Now this is coming from a person who used to play League of Legends a lot but that game is fucking horrible. At least I got my coal for it :lol:.

I actually won World Basketball Manager 2010 for doing the And Yet it Moves achievement.... Anyways I installed it - and every player name is spelled wrong...Vince Certer..Blake Gruffen...It's pretty craptastic. But hey it's free.

Anyone that says it is good needs to play League of Legends or ANY other MOBA game. It is clunky, slow, and has some of the worst characters I've ever seen in a game.

It is because they can't use the names. They don't have the license from the NBA. At least I am guessing so since that is what 2K did with baseball if I'm not mistaken.

Anyone get the Game of Thrones gift? I haven't played the game yet but the steam forums are desolate and some are saying it is bugged. If you have any tips?

I think the original DOTA is still way better than Rise of Immortals, hell it probably looks better too graphic wise :lol:.

So I just realized, if I get a game like World Basketball Manager 2010, I am gonna send it to one of my friends, and not tell them about it, just leave a ticking time bomb.

Go to house vs house mode. Scroll through the maps until you see a map that has Starks on one side. I picked the 1v1 map with Starks in the second slot. Switch yourself to the second slot and put the AI on easy on the top slot. Play through an entire game. I'm not sure if you can lose and still get the achievement, but if you have a basic understanding of the game you should be able to win.

The game is not horrible, but not great either. I'd say it's decent at $10.

Thanks I love the books and show so as a fan service I couldn't resist. Did it pop up for you correctly?

I figured as much , similar to what Madden did with Lavar Arrington the first four years of his contract because he would not sign with the players association.

Still, I may get bored one day to give it a whirl, if i can figure it out. haha i kinda doubt it though.
 
Been doing achievements the last couple of days. I just finished the Super Meat Boy one and it was quite easy (http://steamcheeves.com/). I actually played all the way up to the last level of the first world and was surprised at how well it controlled. It takes a couple of levels to get used to but SMB is quite nimble and responsive. I might play more now! :D
 
Before I head to bed, anyone know if Forsaken World or Alliance of Valance arms is getting a holiday cheevo? I would like to download a F2P game while I am sleeping and I would like it to be one in a genre I am interested in.

It's only on these games as far as I can tell. So far, every game has been listed on there before the daily achievements went up. Champions Online is the only F2P game left not to be in a daily.

Yeah reason I ask is Rusty Hearts got added to the list yesterday (well two days ago as of now), I know because I frequent it (and some games have a holiday sale thing on their banner, and I am 99% sure I would of done rusty hearts last week). Oh well might as well download Crime Craft then. I know I wont do Champions due to the hassle.

Plus I needed a reason to leave my computer on for the rest of the night because Duke Nukem would not take 8 hours and I wanted something to fill up the gap of not downloading anything, lol.

I tried to do the SMB achievement earlier and gave up because it seemed impossible to me at least. I'll have to try that trick later on.

Anyway, discovered The Binding of Isaac tonight and I'm digging the demo on Newgrounds. If it doesn't hit 75% off tomorrow in a daily, I think I'll pick it up anyway for $2.49. The Christmas achievement is tough though due to the sheer randomness of the game from what I've read.

Yeah it popped up fine. Exactly when my screen said victory. Just be sure to make envoys and peasants to create units/army. The easy AI doesn't really utilize anything other than envoys and merc units which can be easily taken out by any army troop.

I'm sure BoI will have a daily given its rotten, random chance Christmas cheevo.

If I can say anything about BoI, it burned bright for a while but cratered so fast that I regretted all the time I put in it. It's decent fun in the exploration phase but so much of the game feels like boring filler that once I start viewing the game in terms of lasting appeal it seems like an awful investment, if not of my money then my time. It seems like a Flash game that should have stayed on Newgrounds unless you have a huge fetish for killing flies or that Monstro boss

Just completed Atomic Zombie Smasher achievement and received 50% off AC:BH.

That site seems to list a lot of achievements that aren't part of the Great Gift Pile from what I can tell - the Cave Story one, for example. Am I missing something?
 
Broke down and bought Bastion and Rock of Ages - glad I did! Both are well worth their price. I'll gladly double dip if they are included in a indie pack in the future!

Crafted 7 more coals for.... 10% off a Valve coupon. Guess it will go well with my other worthless coupons. Too bad you can't craft 7 coupons into a random game. Oh well, its not like Steam has to give out anything.

I'm still really interested in The Ship, maybe I'll luck out and get it for the sale!

Some of those achievements aren't live yet. You can still get the achievement in-game ahead of time, then when the achievement is officially announced on the daily pile announcement you'll get credit for it.

Yeah, the trick is to not jump too high over each of the pillars. If you do it's counted as going out of bounds/falling into a pit and you die. It took me a few tries but it's actually pretty easy.
 
Just got the Rusty Hearts Achievement and I won puzzle chronicles! so excited that its a game and not coal/coupon and im not even sure if I want it yet.

The games we win will never expire if they are left in the inventory right? I dont want to lose it if I forget to redeem it before the event is over.

Also Rusty Hearts is a pretty fun game, I enjoyed the hour or so of it I played and it was really easy. I even managed to get SS rank on the quest for the achievement where you only need a B or higher to complete it.
 
Oy. So far I have won Half Life 2, 7 coal, 50% off Flight Control HD and then 25% off any KalypsoMedia title.

I am a bit jealous of those of you who have been winning good games!
 
I got the achievements in bastion (easy) rusty hearts (easy) and beat hazard (wtf hard). I actually won a game today too. Would have been great if I would have not been scammed.

The Beat Hazard achievement is pretty bad. Why even have the 5 minute achievement, to piss me off that I didn't reach 10 minutes? And it has to be 10 minutes of CHRISTMAS MUSIC, the shit I put on headphones in stores to avoid?

I love Beat Hazard, but that shit isn't happening.

The Beat Hazard achievement wasn't bad; just challenging enough without being too hard. I got it on my fourth try after learning that it wasn't a requirement to do it without dying. Glad I bought it, and I definitely recommend anyone who likes this type of game to give it a try.
 
Bah those free games are all games you have to signup for. I'm not going to bother with that. I don't want any spam or shit.

And Rusty Hearts gives an error on startup... lol
 
Really, really glad I didn't get Hard Reset. Just mediocre compared to so many other shooters right next to it. See, Bulletstorm, even Serious Sam, which I don't like too much but respect a great deal more than HR, and on a good day Painkiller.

The influx of The Ship free copies reminds me why I dropped The Ship in the first place. It's less a game of sneaky skulduggery and more a wankfest of being in the right place with the right weapon at the right time by chance. It's like if ACB MP had everyone on the rooftops with hidden guns.

Also, just get Sonic unless you can't see yourself paying more than $5. It's worth it.

I downloaded the demo on 360, as Steam doesn't have a demo, and I intend to play it shortly.

I have a love/hate relationship with Sonic. His games can be so exhilarating, but it goes counter to my love of exploring environments. Which is hard to do at a billion miles an hour. :cool:
 
I understand the contradiction but I think you'll find the quality of Sonic Generations rises above just that.

If memory serves, the demo on Xbox was time limited so I don't know if it is still active. If it gives you some Green Hell, well, I guess that's alright.

Played a bit of Bloody Good Time as my dalliance with Ship reminded me of BGT and I kinda regret coming down so hard on it. Just about every change it made to the game was for the better except for the cramped, claustrophobic maps and the lack of proper identity hunting.

Just finished demo, which gives you two variations of Green Hill. It was good, but I'm really not a Sonic person. I'm more a fan of the idea of Sonic. ;)
