We appreciate you helping keep this thread up to date. The sales change virtually every day so no one person has the time to update them all. If you notice a game is no longer on sale, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see a game is on sale, add it to the list. Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card.
The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

I found it pretty boring in single player, but playing it with friends was fun. There's still quite a few people playing, but I think most are high levels (probably new people starting with this sale though!).

It no longer updates like that fortunately. Early on it was huge updates three times a week. I probably downloaded about 10 GB or more every month when it was new. Now the updates are only a few times a month and much smaller.

It already has been on sale at Greenman and Getgames for about 20-25%ish even before the Steam sale so you'll have plenty of chances, though I suspect it will come back at least once more before the end of the Steam sale.

Get all of them and skip the sountrack (imo). The DLC is either maps or towers/defense and both are good. And cheap.

Yes, but there are problems with it. The community is very cranky and the game updates constantly (might be a plus if you don't have a cap). Play with friends or solo and you're good. It's really meant to be played cooperatively so you'll get less mileage out of it if you're not doing it that way.

If you like Tower Defense with a bit of Third Person Shooter and a chunk of RPG then you'll probably like it just fine. TONS of content and it can be a long grind through the levels, depending upon your approach.

Worthwhile DLC:
- Lost Eternia Shards Complete
- EV Hero
- Summoner Hero
- Pick through the rest if they look interesting

I'll be grabbing both Oblivion (if it wins) and Morrowind.

I have a feeling even if Oblivion wins, Morrowind will still stay at 40% off. What do you guys think?

You're not ready for Oblivion yet. It's extremely important to play these games in order. Start with Arena and then move on to Daggerfall. Both are now free from Bethesda. After that you want to play Morrowind and then you can get into Oblivion. Don't bother with the side games, like TESA: Redguard.

Or you can just ruin the whole thing and start with Oblivion I guess.

Please do not follow any of this advice.

I've played Morrowind once. Skyrim is pretty good. Oblivion is the best by far in my opinion. It's definitely worth it. One of my all time favorite games.

For a second there...

I started way back with Daggerfall in the 90s myself. I love that game but it hasn't aged well. I kind of wish they would re-release the old ones like maybe for mobile devices or something.

I have to be honest, I like Oblivion least of them all but hell for $5 there's still a lot of content there and you can always ignore the extremely repetitive main quest because there's tons of sidequests. Also Shivering is very cool. That I did like.

Oh and I have this sneaky suspicion that Morrowind will not see a bigger discount even if Oblivion wins but we'll see. Morrowind is probably my favorite of them all but it needs a lot of mods to dress it up to look presentable for modern gaming sensibilities.

I have Morrowind GOTY on Xbox, but god it plays so choppy on my 360. It felt choppy on my Xbox too, and I hate to drag that thing out of the closet...

Red Mountain blew up and most of Morrowind and pretty much all of Vvardenfell is toast

I can't even imagine how that inventory system would work with a controller. It's clearly geared for a keyboard and mouse, unlike Skyrim's which is clearly geared for a controller. TBH I prefer the Morrowind style UI even though I play Skyrim with a controller. :p
 
Yes! I finally caught up in the thread!:D

Not much for me today, I think I'll be getting the Company of Heroes Collection, but that's it.

Tomorrow morning I'll (hopefully) buy either Morrowind or Far Cry 2. I absolutely loved Oblivion and Skyrim, but I never played morrowind before. For Far Cry, I've heard some people absolutely love it, and some hate it. I'd be willing to take a chance for $2.50.

The only other things that interest me are GTA IV (I have all the other ones on Steam); I own it own Xbox 360 and its definitely one of my favorite games, and maybe Sanctum, mainly because it's pretty cheap and for co-op with my brother, who already has it. Right now I think I'll pass on both though.
