Welcome to the Steam Deal Thread V5! You can find link to past threads at the bottom of this post. Read post #2 of this thread for Steam FAQs and more.

This is a Wiki post. Please read this
We appreciate you helping keep this thread up to date. The sales change virtually every day so no one person has the time to update them all. If you notice a game is no longer on sale, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see a game is on sale, add it to the list. Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.
for instructions on updating the thread.

Preorder Deals - Updated 10/28
Group Buys - Updated 8/14

Several multiplayer Steam games are available in 2-packs or 4-packs. These packs offer a discount over buying multiple copies of a game separately. We also maintain group buy trade threads for several games, so please use those threads if you're interested in setting up a group buy.

Free Stuff - Updated 4/3

There are several free games and mods on Steam. These are a few choice ones; you can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

Steam around CAG

If you are interested in joining the Steam CAG Community or participating in a trade or group buy with fellow Cheap Ass Gamers, please do so in the dedicated threads and not in the deal discussion thread. In the dedicated threads you will find CAGers with the same specialized interest who will be much quicker (and happier) to respond than in the Deals thread.

Steam Retail Key List

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7480-WUSF-3601

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card.
The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

Yeah I just recently found the Steam stats page, thanks bruh. Its a small amount of players compared to XBL but still Top 10 played is pretty good. I'm just worried it'll die once BO2 comes out

Just a heads up that I grabbed Quantum Conundrum on GMG and the key for it isn't showing up in my keys page.

First time I've had a problem with GMG. Awaiting a response from a support ticket.

Awesome. Thanks

edit: not seeing my key either. smh

Same thing happened with Metro 2033 during the summer sale. They just ran out of keys and they'll get more in a couple of days.

Lot's of people have reported the problem to them, I would just sit tight and wait, if you have not got it in a week, then send a ticket.

For the price, the wait is worth it.

I figured that was the case, but sent a ticket about it in anyways. Maybe it'll make them move faster.

Squeaky wheel gets the oil.

Thanks for this too, I'll need to try it. Still need to install my SSD

Epic Games owns ChAIR so I'm pretty sure they could bypass the Greenlight route should they so desire. ;)

Thank you for the code. I'm still debating whether or not I'll pick Quantum Conundrum up, but the thought of obtaining the game for less than $4 sounds amazing.

Hm, sounds promising. I wonder what the minimum "pay what you want" number is going to be though. Sounds too good to be true.

Chester looks interesting though and you get it for free when you sign up.

Updated the first post. It needs to get fixed more often :/. Anyway, is anyone else waiting for Postal 2 to be Greenlit? I might have to buy that the day it comes out...if they don't give me steam key for Be Mine 3 (which they said wasn't likely...).

Do you get a Desura key for Chester or is it just a standalone exe.
Do you get a Desura key for Chester or is it just a standalone exe.
Just the exe (about 100mb if it matters to you).

This new site has a "game wallet" section though to store all the DRM-free installers (and keys, I'd imagine) that you buy through them though, so it's not too bad (unless the site fails and they disappear into oblivion, of course).

Apparently some of the games they'll have will have Steam and Desura keys as well though, so I'm definitely keeping my eyes on this one.

This could either be really good, or really bad. Like one good game every 4 months bad .

Although love the idea.

I fear the worst, or completely unknown games that won't be able to ensnare attention.

On the subject of quickly rotating bundles, what was that other site that had an allotment of 10k per bundle and $10 for steam keys.

No key here either. Seems to be a problem being posted across many a message board. Sent in a support ticket as well.

I was wondering the same thing. The selection was pretty weak for the price (at least from what I saw), but I meant to bookmark it and totally forgot.

Yes. It sucks.

I like block puzzlers and music games but Turba does nothing for me.

Nice! Glad I checked this thread, been quiet busy lately. Definitely grabbing Quantum! Also debating the Red Faction collection over on steam.
From where?
I was wondering the same thing, I'm assuming it's from their site. It's $7.99 right now, I'm definitely gonna wait for a sale.

I will wait for the inevitable indie bundle. Most likely indie royale.

Same here, for me to buy an indie game nowadays, I have to feel like it's going to be ok I need to stop what I am doing and play it now type of thing. Most indie games I got off bundles, I didn't feel that.

I did buy mcpixel for 1.00 though...hopefully the dev hands out steam keys for it. I imagine he will

I've been waiting for Project Zomboid to hit IR for a while now. No luck so far, but you never know. Anyone think they will raise the price once it hits Steam?

Give it time. Sometimes it takes Indie Games forever to be indie bundled. I mean Super Meat Boy took about a year to get Humble Bundled.

I'm sure I've read that you're buying now at a lower price because it's still in Alpha. I paid £4.99 a few months ago.

I'd be surprised if they went the IR bundle route, I think they'll make enough cash on their own.

For what it's worth, I liked what I played but it's still very unfinished. I've basically forgotten about it until we get a nearly-finished build.

McPixel was the dumbest thing I've played in ages but it was quite entertaining. Dropped $3 for it.

Also, Intrusion 2 is pretty good. It plays like so many Flash games but man they can throw a boss battle party.
I wouldn't expect zomboid to hit a bundle while still unfinished.
A few bundles now have been for Alpha/Beta builds so you never know.

Well, IR had an Alpha bundle earlier this year and everyone though PZ would be in it, but it was not. I've been tempted to buy it for $7.99 several times from Desura but I don't really want to be messing with an unfinished alpha.

Anyone have a guess what MSRP for PZ might be when it gets on steam? I'm thinking no more than $29.99 which would put it at $7.50 for a 75% off sale. $19.99 might be closer to it though, which would then bring it to $5 if it goes 75%....

I don't think it will go over $20. I was thinking more in the $10-$15 range.

Yeah, I was expecting $10-$15. Just because of the graphics and whole point and clicky nature of it. Not that that's a bad thing, but I don't see the average consumer spending more than $15 on something that looks like it was made in 1998.

I wouldn't be so sure. He's a guy who names himself after his own game and charges $300 for it during a developer benefit event, "because he may" after all. Pretty hypocritical of him to even want his game on Steam after being in an event to boycott third-party distributor pricing.
