Free Stuff - Needs Updating

There are quite a few free and free2play games and mods on steam. You can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

Sometimes I get the impression that you're this guy irl.

Yeah, close. Love this. end post

However

18+

He can't be me because:

  1. No Ayahuasca
  2. No Auralac
  3. That cocktail of Oxy, Hydro and Xanax would kill me to death and I'd wake up dead.

A week ago. Spoder posted it in the GG thread but a few pages of GG banter failed to acknowledge it.

Until prices return to where I can make $800/week working from home, I refuse to idle for cards.
About RE6:

MysterD is sad. And will have to wait until to next 75% off or better sale.

About Idling for Cards:

$800/week for card idling would be sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! It'd be like having a 2nd job! :D

I think I need Saints Row 4 in my life, does anyone have plans to buy in the near future? I can't find any good deals on it, just the 10% off at Steam & Amazon. Oh I just saw it in the group buy thread for $36, not bad.
I think I can wait on SR4 for 75% off or better on base game; and/or maybe wait it out for when the Ultiamte Super-Duper Full Package Edition w/ base game + 700 DLC's comes around.

EDIT:

SR 1 was console only afaik
That needs to change, as far as I"m concerned.

Better late than never.

It's still about $12 (after 20% off discount) on UK GG, not too much more than the lowest price it was at ($8).

I'm the only CAG who doesn't use SAM to idle for cards.
I also haven't used SAM. TBH it's not really necessary to use unless you have a slow internet connection, or bandwidth limitations.

Is there a way to show all of the games you own that have steam cards? I thought they would show up automatically under the badge page when new ones are released, but I just noticed that several of my games whose cards I sold instead of kept disappeared from the page altogether.
In Steam or on the Community site, click your name at the top for the dropdown menu, and click Badges, above Inventory.

I don't use SAM... I DL'd it but decided not to.  And I've also DL'd everything I idled (or played)  But at this rate cards aren't worth the power it took to idle :)

If the dev garden is the part I think it is then a mixture of Invul potions and teleport scrolls should help.

Gnomes take you down to 1 hp from a distance no matter what, but can't kill you til you get close.

So get close, pop an invulnerability potion, and teleport back to the left side of the screen right before it wears off.

Repeat until finished.
Thank you for the pearls, mate.

And no income tax. I don't suppose anybody is going to report their steam card sale earnings in 2013 tax return, right? RIGHT?

Holy crap, people showed children this movie? This would have scarred me forever, it might still have. Plus Marilyn Manson music never helps make things seem less scary.
Heck yeah. They used to run that on regular prime time TV channels. I saw it several times as a kid.

Actually when I go to use my wallet balance I got from selling cards I have to pay Washington state sales tax so while the feds may not get a cut of my card windfalls I assure you my state does.

The money has already been taxed before going into the market, so the feds really have no right to collect tax money again. At least for US users. I think Valve is trying to get the current 200 transaction thing reversed anyway just because it's a closed system. Once the money is in, it's in. Only time federal taxes occur on it again is if and when Valve profits on it.

Well, that was 4 minutes culled out of a 90 minute film so it's not as though it's an hour and a half of bunny gore. It's not really any worse than the novel itself (personally I think the written descriptions are more effective than some of the animation) which was intended for as a children/young adult novel.

I found a pic of Mooby!

I found that in the Brazil steam Store the game is region free, would it be safe to assume this version is also region free? Or maybe it'll tell me if I translate it.

Here's where the complainy part comes in, does it have Preorder dlc? XP
  • Free update for Commander in Chief Edition. This edition includes:
    Weapon 'merica
  • Airplane Screaming Eagle
  • Uncle Sam suit

I recommend browsing sites in languages that you don't speak with Chrome. It can quickly and automatically translate as you browse. I'm guessing extensions for other popular browsers can be found to do the same thing.

Thoughts on F1 2012 at that price?

I picked up 2010 on PS3 and found it a bit too arcadey and surprisingly lacking in features. Is 2012 much of an improvement?

re: SR4

You guys know that damned game is going to be like $20, then $10, then $5 then bundled. Just wait. Also it's going to have a shit ton of DLC which you'll be compelled to get even though you know it's useless crap so just get it later as a pack. You don't need it day 1. You want to play a FPS with people running around and doing weird shit, just go back and play SR3 again for a bit.

$33 is something you can do better on with patience. Don't do it.

IIRC it's been $8 after a 20% recently. I never owned the earlier versions, but recalling from reviews there have been various little refinements over the years but it has become somewhat like an annual update to an EA Sports game. Handling and AI saw a notable improvement in 2011. KERS and DRS are interesting additions since 2010. Playable with a controller, but I really prefer wheel & pedals for F1 2012.

I would absolutely not describe F1 2012 as "arcadey". (But I tend to play with no/light assists.)

Generally I'd agree, but personally I don't mind breaking the CAG 75% rule for games I know I will play immediately instead of placing in the backlog, and SR4 definitely falls in that category for me.

You're absolutely right though, I'm sure the price will fall like a rock a couple months (weeks???) after release, just as S-E and Sega games are wont to do. Still, I wouldn't mind paying 40% off for a game I want to play immediately (esp when it comes out on my birthday) :)

I refuse to pay full price for any game though... I've been burnt by the couple games I paid $60 for (ME3, Diablo 3), and that just left a horrible taste in my mouth.

But... but... shiny!

I'm going to wait years for the $1 bundle tier and laugh at all of the suckers who got it at 75% off.

You can stretch the waiting game for maximum discount as far as you want. Buy the games you want to play when you want to play them at a price that you're comfortable with.

In addition, it's especially wise because of the modding bonanza we'll see from Saint's Row 2 and 3 sooner than later.

That scene might be engaging enough to keep your MIND off SR4.

I'm using a Firefox plugin that uses google translate. I wanna buy this but I can't find anything that confirms it's region free.

I looked too and couldn't find anything that expressly states it is. I know many of us have purchased games that successfully registered on our US steam accounts before but since the rules are by publisher and game, I understand your caution.

I have never heard in my time as an Steam user of a game/key that is locked for Brazil/Latin America only. All the games sold on the Brazilian store are ROW (region free), including the SR IV Pre-order, so my best guess is that the keys sold on Nuveem are also region free. On the other hand i'll have to agree with the rest, buy it for that price if you're gonna play it on day 1.
