Has the GTA4 Complete deal from Nuuvem been mentioned yet? Comes out to under $5 USD, so I think that's the best price I've seen on it. Assuming it's not region locked, that is.

Well, that and it's back-ordered at the moment.

ES says it's the cheapest it's been, but if the others are of interest, GTA Complete was $10 just the other week from GameFly.

Is it established that your name is a corrupt fusion of idiosyncratic and discotheque?

Do you frequent a nightclub that strictly prohibits X and employs a DJ who only spins "Faith" during her daily 8-hour set?

I do hope you know my name is ZENaphobe, not XENOphobe. I'm not afraid of alien things, just enlightenment ;)
Damn, I was hunting for a Xena gif and then I saw that Mind Link beat me to it.

Per my WL2 kickstarter email.

Wasteland 1 getting a separate release! (on Steam and GOG)

As you may know, we had a deal in place with EA to give all our Wasteland 2 backers (including late backers) a copy of Wasteland 1, which was to be integrated and launched from the game’s menu like the original Bard’s Tale trilogy into the new Bard’s Tale. We very happy about that, as we’ve always wanted to enable people to get back to the original, and it serves as a good refresher for the sequel.

We recently went to talk with EA to try and get it out in a different, separate format, and they accommodated our idea. We’ve now inked a new deal where we’ll be able to release Wasteland 1 separately. After getting the game in our hands and ensuring it runs on modern machines, we plan to distribute it FOR FREE to all our backers before Wasteland 2’s release, as well as sell it on GOG.com and Steam for anyone else interested in trying out this classic RPG.
Yes free Steam key! I never played the first Wasteland, but I loved Fallout so I kickstarted W2.

They're going to SELL Wasteland 1?  Come on...  Of course, EA, so, not too big of a surprise.

What's wrong with them selling a game?

Why does my signature pic not display most of the time, is that happening for everyone else too?

Eh, it's no worse than anything else on GOG and there's some really moldy oldy stuff on Steam already ie, Loom, Commander Keen, The Manhole etc.

Anyway, it's more playable than some new releases. A lot more playable.

I would complain about the abortion that is the Realms of Arkania remake but I noticed you Codex types who live in Bizzaro land where everything else is bad seem to actually be under some delusion that it's playable.

You're obviously not cool enough to play Realms of Arkania.

I loved Duke 3D but hadn't played Shadow Warrior. This video convinced me to buy.

I have NO problem w/ the design style of modern shooters (think COD series + BF:BC2, BF4 - linear, heavily-scripted shooters w/ health-regen) and old-school shooters (think Shadow Warrior, Duke 3D - which were levels that were a bit more open, had exploration, and felt like mazes).

The problem I have is there's TOO many of the same type of shooter in this era - i.e. the surplus of modern shooters. I like the COD's and BF's of the world; but we also need MORE variety on the market. I'd be absolutelty fine w/ more old-school style shooters showing up.

Also - do we need every MP on the FPS to be like COD and BF and have a level/progression system? I miss the days when we had something like Quake 2, Quake 3, UT series - and it was all skill-based: based on good you were as a player. Honestly, I'd like to see a kind of marriage of the two ideas: a skill-based MP that was level-based, but only did say all kinds of cool "cosmetic" unlocks all based on your online stats and scores, instead of "better equipment" unlocks from doing tons of playing online - kind of like what the DNF MP did,

You don't read Codex closely enough because most people there are laughing out how bad the remake is with all the bugs and such. There's even a JRPG Codesu subforum for you to post on!

Halo comes to mind (not 4) when we talk about arcade MP. Its ranks mean you get more cosmetics (Hayabusa for instance) and the games weren't if you had the best load out but if you knew the map's weapon spawns and tactics.

Halo 3 had some of the best online multiplayer ever, imo. Reach and 4 were fun online too, but the gimmicky COD stuff didn't carry the weaker mechanics.

This doesn't appear to be the case from my perspective, my pic doesn't show anywhere on the page and I see other peoples pics multiple times per page.
Steamsignatures.com is down for me (and I guess you), so that's the problem, most likely. The weird thing is that downforeveryoneorjustme.com shows it as up from their end.

Actually, I loved it. I've been a huge fan of the action RPG genre since Diablo 1. I also really liked Torchlight 2, but I think Van Helsing is one of the best single-player action RPG I've played since Diablo II came out 13 years ago.

The setting is amazing, the graphics are great, the game mechanics are "just right" and everything fits together really smoothly.

Hands down the best part about Van Helsing are the skill trees. There is so much customization here that you could easily play the game 10-15 through and have a different playstyle or mechanic each time. Highly recommended.
Van Helsing is on my radar, but not at its current price. If it's $7.50 now, it should be sub-$5 in the holiday sale, and I'll grab it then.

All my ARPG itches are currently being scratched by Marvel Heroes, which is working hard to overcome a rough start. I'm loving the new multiplayer PvE area; it's absolute button-mashing insanity.

I used to use it, it does that all the time. It'll come back, it's just up and down.

^_^ I'd be interested to hear your experience, playing it for the first time 25 years after release. Feel free to hit me up for hints. It's my Skyrim.

Well I already paid $40 for it shortly after release in '88 (Apple ][) and got the PC version in Interplay's 10 Year Anthology in '94. I got it working in DosBOX on my Nexus 7.

Signatures only appear on your first post per page, I believe. Is that the issue?
Get with the times, that's so CAG 2.oh. ^_~

Thoughts on The Swapper? Shall I buy?
Great puzzle game. I actually felt it was similar in some aspects to Portal, with a relatively understated story that matches its gameplay quite well. The puzzles start out quite simple, but I got many "aha" moments as the game went on. Some of the later puzzles were quite fiendish, but overall I thought it was a great game that didn't overstay its welcome.

Nuuvem has LA Noire Complete for $4.97 U.S. of American dollars (so says my Paypal receipt):

http://www.nuuvem.com.br/produto/372-l-a-noire-the-complete-edition

Been waiting for the complete version to drop below $5. Activated with no problems. Good for just under 20 hours or so from now.
After reading their entire TOS, and there's nothing about cross country transactions or anything barring using them to purchase Steam games. There is only a section about providing false contact information, but seeing as how they never ask for anything other than birth date/username/password/ and email, there is no information provided falsely. Thanks for the tip.

What are Steam cards? I've seen that on a lot pf different threads about Steam and I have no idea what they are. People sure seem to want them, though.

Went ahead and grabbed the Soundtrack version from the creators. Pretty cool game thus far. All three of my card drops were fucking duplicates, though. I'm 'bout sick of the cards with the luck I have had with them.

if you're an actual gamer, then yes.

The Breakfast of Rednecks.

unfortunately, I AM SERIOUS

Any IGN Primers here still? Just got my e-mail that the FGOTM is Fist Puncher, a Steam game from AdultSwim (pop evil right in the crime hole).

I enjoy getting indefinitely free IGN Prime for no reason. Thanks for the screw-up, guys. ;)

I've been feeling a bit of an ARPG bug and Marvel Heroes is the last thing I think of. It's OK, just never grabbed me (maybe because I never bought a character I really liked?)

It'll jump right to the front of my backlog whenever the codes get sent out. Every time I read an update for W2, I just can't wait for it to come out. W1 will hold me over until then.

The only problem I have with Van Helsing so far, and I'm only about an hour or so in, is that there isn't much weight to when you take damage.  I get on the edge of some mob (particularly with that blasted scarecrow) and then just barely notice my life being almost gone before I can retreat and suck down potions.  I may also just be bad at the game, but I feel like the game could benefit from somehow giving enemy attacks more impact.  Otherwise I'm quite digging the game.  After TL2 and Diablo 3 I like the slightly less stylized graphics which reminds me more of Diablo 1 and 2, or more directly Titan Quest.  I also really like the very clear "This is what changes if you switch gear".  One thing I just don't care to do any more is stare at how my stats shift when I swap equipment and fuss over which is best that way.

Unrealted, having a really hard time not using cards money to pick up Guacamelee now.  Everything I read about it when it came out on the PS3 made me lament the whole PS3 exclusive thing, and now it's on Steam, and still looks excellent and I have cards money clearing burning a hole in the Steam wallet.  Also I don't have Mutant Blobs Attack, not that I really want it, but it's making the prospect even "cheaper".

Serious Sam 3: Jewel of the Nile was $0.99 during the SS!  :headache:  Someone must have been using the phone when that went down.

Edit: Tried 90% SS3 coupon on Jew of the Nile and it didn't work.

Looks like GRID 2 PC is going to get some official mod support:

http://community.codemasters.com/t5/Codies-Blog/Introducing-Mod-Support-V1-0/ba-p/327468

Previously, some of our game's files were protected against modification. This was intended as a defence against cheating, mostly during online play, but also when setting lap times or earning achievements. When the modification of a protected file has been detected the game would disable online access, achievements and would also prevent any saving from occurring.

However, we understand that many mods are made with absolutely no intent of inconveniencing other players. These guys want to play the game in their own way, but as it stood the game would not save their progress if they were to modify a protected file.

So we’ve decided to assist these players by adding some basic support to the game that allows modified data and when enabled the game will now save your progress. Please note that the save file is separate to the one used by the unmodified game and online play, leaderboards, achievements and RaceNet functionality will all be disabled to protect the integrity of the main game.
