There's quite a bit of DLC that isn't included in the Ultimate Box. Basically, the Ultimate Box only includes all the free content that came out on consoles + the Party Pack. Legendary Cars, Toys, Boost Specials, Cops & Robbers and Big Surf Island are not included. So yeah, not so Ultimate.

EDIT: You can buy a pack at Amazon that includes the Legendary Cars, Toys, Boost Specials and Time Savers pack for $10. Be warned though, the Time Savers pack will unlock ALL cars for you. So if you like gradually unlocking stuff as you play through a game, don't buy that.

EDIT2: I'm dumb, didn't see that the pack was already posted. The Time Savers advice still applies though.

I'd also like a magical flying dolphin that shits rainbows and transforms into Olivia Wilde to please me sexually, but alas, I don't think it's gonna happen.

Then again, Humble Origin Bundle is a thing, so who am I to say "impossible" is even a reasonable adjective.
LMAO! :D

EDIT:

An EA Humble bundle was always the "when pigs fly" joke for PC gaming. Now that it has happened, we're going to need to get some flying pigs or find a new "impossible" scenario.
Where's the Activision Humble Bundle?

big surf was a PS3 exclusive or something? wiki says in game store not avaliable anymore, yet the very first picture in Origin for the game shows someone on Big Surf Island.

I'm running out. For years, I was able to get by with "Hey, what do you think will come out first, Duke Nukem Forever or Chinese Democracy?"

I'm thinking about investing in Half-Life 3 as a new punchline, but if Valve is actually working on a new Source engine, then we might actually see HL3 before we die.

There are the DRM-related jokes ("... when Diablo 3 gets an offline mode", "... when Rocksteady patches Securom out of the Batman games", and so on), but those things aren't impossible to remove; they're just held in place by developers who have a vested interest in the status quo. Besides, DRM doesn't make me laugh.

Oooh, I know! It's a punchline that won't go away, and still targets EA. Here we go:

"... when NHL (insert year here) is available on PC." Works just as well with Madden, if you like football more than hockey. What do you think, sirs?

To be fair a lot of games this generation have been starting to do this.

One good example is like you mentioned with Civ V where it took two expansions to get it back to the amount of content Civ IV had.
A bit, but I think Sims and Civ are the worst offenders. They purposely don't bother adding elements of gameplay in that have been there for literally over a decade (pets, vacations, downtown stuff was all in the game through expansions starting in Sims 1), so that you'll have to buy it again for the new game, and then they end up charging $40 or so MSRP for this stuff when it should be at the most $5-10 DLC.

I'm still an avid Sims nerd, but I do think it's pretty ridiculous.
Haha I'm an avid Civ nerd and how they approached DLC and add-ons in Civ V was just ridiculous.
Civ has been doing it for longer, going at least back to Civ 3 in 2001 and arguably Civ 2 in 1996. Both games were missing features that weren't added outside of an expansion or expansions.

Remember when that EA guy was talking about how they didn't want to devalue their games by offering them at "Steam prices"?

Has anyone had luck getting the steam key for Mirror's Edge to activate on Origin? I can't find any sort of cd-key for it in Steam, and the steam key shows as invalid if I try entering that into Origin. Origin didn't automatically scan my system for it either.

It took me about 30 different EA reps for me to get them to activate Mirror's Edge from my Steam on Origin. As far as I know there is no CD key for Mirror's Edge on Steam. I messaged the live chat about once a week to try to con them to do it.

Cause I'm a dick.

Hmm, yeah I just googled and it seems you can only do it through customer service and most of the time they will refuse. Not worth it I guess, I like having games activated on both but the truth is I only use Origin when I absolutely have to, which is just for Mass Effect 3 and Dead Space 3.

I'm with you on a magical flying dolphin, but Olivia Wilde?

Thanks, can't wishlist it, but bookmarked.
If you use the Amazon Wishlist extension/browser plugin you can :D/

Last one is a bit NSFW, but it had to be "Wilde" and all.
This is yes in sooo many ways. Since the impossible things we say are happening, I'd like to get in on a 'BTA' OW bundle.

And just to keep my post on topic....

...Steam.

I know that some of you own   consoles, so if you want a "1-use @ the box" Redbox code for   console games that expires late on the 16th, PM me.

[customspoiler='PS']You have to trade it to the clerk for a Big Gulp or say you did.[/customspoiler]

I'll be pissed if a pig drops a bomb on my car...

Ubisoft Bundle is not a bad idea at all... It will make a LOT of people to use their client.

And, for our benefit, it's another small step towards Ubi being competitive.

I want the other services to rise to Steam's level as triumphantly as possible. WW3OMG

I wouldn't mind a Humble Ubisoft Bundle.. but it won't happen, because I've only bought 1 or 2 Ubisoft games for PC. I'd have to buy them all before there'll be a bundle.

I wonder if these Humbles kicking our asses will in any way increase the odds of Steam's Winter Sale being the most epic ever?

It'd be nice to think that Ubi, if they haven't planned something already, is at least paying attention.  HB:EA is already at 760k purchases after less than 24 hours.  That's a lot of new Origin users.  In fact, I've never used Origin myself, and if they hadn't included Steam keys this would have finally gotten me onboard.  Since uPlay is required for the Far Cry 3 titles, I'd be forced to use that too if they bundled them.

Well, I didn't mind buying a bunch of games with free money last summer sale, but the discounts were generally kind of weak, so I wouldn't count on it. Steam hasn't had most of the best deals in a long time now.

In most people's eyes, any and all bundles merely diminish any sales that Steam has. Bundles build the library up for super cheap prices, and if someone owns the games that Steam puts on sale it's now a bad sale.

Besides that, Steam isn't going to compete with Humble's prices.

Spoder already posted this in the HB thread, but for those who haven't seen it yet:

The bonuses during the 2nd week will be:

Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 Uprising

Bulletstorm

Dead Space 2

Medal of Honor Airborne

dHgtwGC.png

EDIT: Don't kill me if the info ends up being wrong, I got it from SPUF ;)
Well I don't know about you guys, but I'm psyched.

Course, Ubi already did their cheap games last year when they had a week of one dollar games.

Then again, considering all the problems I had with Driver: San Francisco (Problems installing it on uPlay.  Bugs that were never resolved.  The last straw was a corrupted save file that prevented me from moving forward with the plot.)  I don't really want to touch uPlay ever again.

So now that the impossible EA Humble Bundle has come to life, I'd like to be the first to hope for the mythical Formerly LucasArts/EA/Disney Humble Bundle, only because I really want Battlefront 2 and it was on sale for exactly 8 hours during the Steam Sale and I missed it. I really don't care what else is in it, and since current evidence suggests that Bioware seemingly doesn't like to participate, the KOTORs are probably out. I'm horrible at RTS, but I would play Empire at War. Everyone that wanted to has probably already played Force Unleashed. Jedi Knight series, maybe.

Is Star Wars still relevant, or should this wait until the new movies are coming out? I'm just getting sucked back in because one of my kids is getting sucked in to the saga.

Apparently Games For Windows Live is closing the ability to purchase games through it on August 22nd. One step closer to it being completely dead and gone.

I greatly prefer Steam, but that is kind of a bummer for those of us who bought games through it (if only occasionally). Hopefully they won't remove the ability to redownload your items, or transfer those licenses to the Windows App Store.

At least Ultra SF4 is Steamworks-only.

EDIT:

Gamers probably say "Yes! Plz stop!"...

...but Capcom says "Hell freaking no!"
Is it really Steamworks-only? That would mean PC players would have to buy the full new version for $40 instead of upgrading for $15. That would suck very much. I was planning on upgrading PC and 360 versions, but will have to wait for a sale for PC version.

I like their DLC. It's a lot cheaper paying $15, if you want it on release day, every year or 2 than having to spend $50-$60 on a whole new game that barely changes gameplay.

Damn. I still need to get Minerva's Den for Bioshock 2.

I don't really want this, the last thing I need is another publisher getting as cocky as EA and deciding to only offer their games through their own platform. I want to own everything on Steam and not be forced to have my games spread out over multiple content platforms. I understand why a publisher would want to do this, but I feel it's against my interests.
