Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

Upped for you, now it is 4 stars.

I am not sure which one is missing but the previous franchise pack had 26 items and the current one contains 27 items.

Just be careful when you shop for headphones online, even Amazon had incidents of counterfeit Sennheiser headphones being sold.

Yes, I had a set of the ATH-ANC7s (the originals, not the current B) before my sister adopted them. I've also gifted a couple of them after my partner and another friend tried them and loved them.

I did use the C7s for several years and the the sound quality was very good, with or without the NC enabled.

They're both over the ear and I found them equally comfortable.

They're both have the flexibility to use with or w/o NC enabled (dead battery isn't a show stopper), and detachable cables, the 9 adds the inline mic and 2 NC settings.

The NC on ANC9s is improved with 2 different settings, more thorough, so music sounds better in noisy environments. The low frequency settings for planes/trains really nails it. Basic nuances of a vocal or instrumental come through quite well considering the noisy environment. The 2nd NC setting for @ home/office has a nice balance to it, not as pronounced as setting 1.

Neither of these are audiophile cans, but for listening on the road, or traveling in noisy environments, they can't be beat.

TL:DR : NC9s really shine for NC during long travel (planes, trains) NC7s are great, unless you've used the NC9

Thanks for that! I still have my original ANC7 (not the post-patent-dispute ANC7b. It's a well loved can. I was curious about the ANC9 from someone with your perspective. Nod. Not my daily use cans, but they get pulled into service a good bit for travel or working around noisy machinery. Noise bothers me a lot... I'm really interested in the office setting on those. The ANC7 works well, but has a bit of a ...constant pressure... seemingly from low level pink noise. This is acceptable in high noise environments (e.g. aircraft), but I dislike it for office level environments.

Just be careful when you shop for headphones online, even Amazon had incidents of counterfeit Sennheiser headphones being sold.
Nod, right. Slipped my mind... I only buy from respectable establishments.

Ring ding ding!

WINNER!
Haha. I narrowed it down to Planet Terror, Dawn of the Dead, and 28 Days Later after the clue on the list.

28 Days Later after the "close" clue since it was the only other UK-based zombie film on the list.

Too bad I said Shaun of the Dead was my last guess :wall:

Nope! Come on guys, it's not that hard. It's not like there's 100000s of movies made that I could have watched.

Hint #1 - no longer in theaters.
Free internet porn... Its a family thread so I won't try to guess the actual name.

Edit: eh... So late with this joke... I blame CAG bingo.

Oh God. I'm thankful I missed the headphone discussion. As a huge audio nerd with a collection of headphones that is ... way too extensive for me to even list without my "cheapass" privileges being revoked, I would never shut up about it ...

I just have a $20 pair of JVC headphones.
There are some decent $20 headphones (and plenty that don't stand up to my choice $5 Panasonic RP-HT21 beater phones). I have an interesting $20 Sony that's half-open/half-closed back with very good sound reproduction for the price (out of production).

Also $15 MSRP KCS-75.

Most comfortable headset I have ever used I think. Not sure about sound quality because I have not willingly listened to music in over 6 years.

Nod. I don't own those, but the fundamental design is comphy. It is very close, design wise, to an ATH-T400

An even more comfy refinement turns the band into wings and even bigger earcups, like the aforementioned ATH-AD700

HARX700. So big that they look silly on my thin head.

You would notice the pressure reduction on the 9s. Not sure how often you use them in a home/office environment, I don't enough that I would have sought them out for that feature, but if I did, I would change to them. As it is, they are the best NC headphones I've ever used.

Amen! I don't have tons of headphones, but I have enough variety for the various environments and purposes, custom ear monitors, in the ear plugs, over the ear wired, NC, , bluetooth (crap for music but great for multitasking). That could be another thread!

Right, meant to mention respected phones around the $20 mark, Koss PortaPros.  I've never owned these though -- they would catch terribly on my hair. Straight up '80s design. (I had some headphones of similar design back then.)

I used to buy Koss. Loved their sound and design, but they always broke on me within a year.
