Gish may have sucked, but Aquaria is AWESOME. You should all have that one too as it was part of the Humble Indie Bundle #1 (which was also included in HIB #2).
It's basically an underwater Metroid. I've put in about 10 hours and I think I'm just over halfway done. Lots of collectibles/secrets and it's got a pretty laid back (but also catchy) soundtrack.
If I had one thing to complain about, is that there is no way to know what you're supposed to do next. There are no mission objectives or waypoints or anything. You just have to keep swimming around different areas and discovering which ones you can access or which ones you can't. This usually isn't a problem as you'll later get a form that will allow you access to these areas, but for me, it involved A LOT of backtracking to places I had already been to twice before. Can get a bit tedious. But I also kind of like this as it lets you freely explore without trying to funnel you through the story. But like I said, it can be tedious if you have to backtrack to areas way on the other side of the map if you didn't catch what you need to do or where you need to go when you were there the first time.
