Since the Target deals are usually of the "your mileage may vary" type, let's keep all the target clearance deals in this thread.

Here is a fairly easy way to check if your local Target has the games on clearance without making the store clerk unlock the display case and price-scan a bunch of games. Very often, games may be on sale, but will not be marked as such.

BigDirty came up with this nice time saver. Respect his cheap ass skills.

1) Check this thread for games that have been reported on clearance.

2) Go to www.half.com, http://bits.com/ or similar website and search for the game to locate its UPC code number. Its in the grey box underneath the box art graphic.

3) Go to www.schworak.com/upc/ , www.milk.com/barcode/ , or www.upcdatabase.com and enter the code so you can print out the UPC.

4) Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts and search for cheap ass deals!

FYI: "When a game's price ends with 8 cents, further reduction is possible, when it ends in 4 cents, that's the ball game, pick it up cause it's not going any lower. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." - BigDirty

I'm going to Target tonight in Watsonville (central coast in California), If anyone in the area is curious about a price let me know and I'll try to check it. I'm driving about 30 minutes each way, so I'm really hoping they will have either Boktai cheap or Dark Cloud 2 cheap, if not I'm going to be one unhappy camper.

once again....all of my targets only have gh and ph in the clearance section...something tells me an insider already has dibs on everything once its marked down....its a conspiracy, i swear

This is what I was always thinking until lately, I've been consistently finding one or two random games on the clearance end cap a couple aisle's down. You're probably looking in that area right behind the locked glass cabinets. That's just for overflow.

The clearance end cap at my closest Target is overpiled with older Greatest Hits, Platinum Hits and Player's Choice games...and the shelving behind the locked glass displays used to be a mess of some newer Greatest Hits, Platinum Hits and Player's Choice games as on the side, but it recently got reorganized. If a game isn't marked already as clearance at the stores near me, then there's a good chance that it's not gonna be on clearance when scanned. All the sales from the Targets around me have effectively disappeared since early 2004, my guess.

Targets have reorganized their merchandising tactics in the last month. Many of the clearance games that used to be lost in the shuffle behind the glass have been tagged to sell. New floor plans have forced the Target in Burbank and Pasadena to go through a major overhaul in the game accessories section.

My Targets all suck! They're building a new supercenter one here so I'm hoping the other ones will start clearing some games out...

Same here. The game section has been redone so all of the games are now open to the public. The clearance games are clearly marked in the open display case. (As a temp. price drop.) The "clearance section" is worthless now for games.

I picked up the last copy of Boktai for $13.98. They also had a ton of Spiderman for the GBA and one copy of Dave Mirra for GBA at $13.98. Also many copies of Konami's Arcarde Classics or whatever for $10.98. One copy of Sphinx for PS2 at $13.98. This was at the Target in Burnsville, MN I believe (I was traveling).

San Jose, CA

Return to Wolfenstein Platnium Edition (PC) - $4.98
About 2-3 copies left

Also saw these on temporary price cuts so I'm assuming that other stores have the same thing too:

The Sims Bustin Out (PS2) - $27.99
FFXI /w 40GB HD (PS2) - $87.99

Target : Westbury, LI (New York)

Boktai for 13.98 (I know its not that cheap but I bought it anyway)

my target was the same as the tim duncan guy said. It had a bunch of good games but they were all the normal price- nothing scanned lower than 20, unless it was already marked down anyways(but that was just a couple crappy $15 games anyway

Once again, my Target's have nothing. :(

lol, so I'm the Tim Duncan guy now? :p

picked up Tron 2.0 for 7.48. Happy to get it to as I have been waiting on this to drop. also saw shadows of the underentide for only 15, figured I would wait until it dropped more

There was a bunch of other kiddie PC games and not much else

this was the Target off of Green Rd. and Millbrook in Raleigh (shopping center with the SAM's club and Lowe's, both food and hardware)

I picked up Ghost Master for $7.48, Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge for $2.48, and the Ice Wind Dale Collection for $19 (not that good of a deal, but I wanted to make sure I got one and there was only two) at the Saginaw, Michigan Target.

Don't know if anyone would care for this but I picked up a DVD-rom of DBZ Journey that includes the final episode of DBZ and the first episode of DB GT for 0.78. This Target at Pasadena CA still has about 20 of these DVD roms left.
At the Castleton, Indiana store they have Sphinx Cotm for 9.98 and tribes 2 for 2.98.
You can now get both Tribes games for free on fileplanet.

Saw Return to Castle Wolfenstein Platinum edition (PC) for $4.98; 1 copy left, and Freedom Fighters (PC) for $9.99.
Also, saw this these for $13 each. I don't know if these are clearance, but they are:
Mission Impossible: Operation Surma (xbox)
Carve (xbox)
Star Wars Bounty Hunter (ps2)
Crazy Taxi (ps2)
Sega Bass Fishing (ps2)
These were @ the Northgate Seattle Target.

MI:OS was $14.99 in SMithfield, RI
Boktai - $13.98

Clearance sections in general in RI have been fucking sucky lately.

clearence sections everywhere have sucked pretty bad lately. i've been to three targets around seattle and haven't seen a single clearence game worth anything (or under 20.98 for that matter) for quite some time.

This one is weird. A friend of mine just bought an XBox that was clearanced at Target simply because the packaging was damaged. It was marked down to $105. So, next chance any of you get, try to kick a small hole into the XBox packaging. :)

I forget which Target he said he got it from, but I'm led to believe it was the Harbison Blvd. one in Columbia, SC.

I'm sure that was a joke and you aren't actually suggesting the willful destruction of private property for personal gain.

Cool Springs (Nashville), TN -- Wario Ware Inc. (GBA) $14.98. I got the only copy. Not as good as $5 at BB, but still a good price.

::nods slowly:: I think most Targets keep their XBoxes in glass cases, anyway. I doubt anyone here is crazy enough to kick straight through a glass panel, only to have the audacity to ask for a discount on something. :)
The PS2 ver? that's unblievably hard to find (at least where I'm from).
Yeah, the PS2 one. Go buy it from their website if you want it.

It seems that Target really hasn't had much of a clearance section in any stores lately. The whole week there were no console clearance deals posted which I don't think has happened before.

In most Targets (at least all the ones near me) the entire electronics department (which includes video/computer games) went unde a giant clearance, which included things like DVD players, digital cameras, and televisions. Because of this, I think you will be a lot less likely to see as many Clearance deals as before (at least in this section).
