Since the Target deals are usually of the "your mileage may vary" type, let's keep all the target clearance deals in this thread.

Here is a fairly easy way to check if your local Target has the games on clearance without making the store clerk unlock the display case and price-scan a bunch of games. Very often, games may be on sale, but will not be marked as such.

BigDirty came up with this nice time saver. Respect his cheap ass skills.

1) Check this thread for games that have been reported on clearance.

2) Go to www.half.com, http://bits.com/ or similar website and search for the game to locate its UPC code number. Its in the grey box underneath the box art graphic.

3) Go to www.schworak.com/upc/ , www.milk.com/barcode/ , or www.upcdatabase.com and enter the code so you can print out the UPC.

4) Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts and search for cheap ass deals!

FYI: "When a game's price ends with 8 cents, further reduction is possible, when it ends in 4 cents, that's the ball game, pick it up cause it's not going any lower. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." - BigDirty

When posting what you have found, please note the location that you found it at, example:

Philadelphia, PA
I heard from a friend that all video game clearance prices are lowered on Mondays at Target, I don't know if that info is already on this board somewhere, but I found it useful as the game was 14.98 when I went on Sunday night, so i conveniently placed it in the back of the rack. Strolled in on Monday morning and picked it up, still had the 14.98 price tag on it, but at a price checker it rang up at $7.48!!  Thanks for posting all of the deals guys.
Yeah, Monday is eletronics markdown day. That's the day to go for deals since the prices have just been marked down so most people haven't seen the new lower prices yet but later in the week, the good deals are usually gone.

hey guys

can anyone tell me if they've seen copies of The Hulk for the GC here in the Dallas area? every time i get to the store seems like there's absolutely no clearance

the target near my house doesn't even carry The Hulk

I didn't know there was a Target in Greenwood. Where's that at?

The only one I know on the southside is the one on Southport Rd close to the Meijer.

There may yet be another Target I'll have to visit for clearance.

Actually, there's a pretty new Target on SR 135 just south of Smith Valley Rd. Oddly enough, quite close to the other Meijer.
what does YMMV mean?
Your mileage may vary (i.e. the deal isn't necessarilly being offered at every Target)
Holy bejusses!!

Unlimited Saga 0.98!!!
Whoa, scan receipt yo. The lowest I ever got a game was for like $3 at Target, I never thought they would go below $2.

Perhaps I should consider moving to NC? Oh well, I finally tracked down Arc the Lad for $14.98 the other day, so I'm happy. And I got Starsky and Great Escape through the TRU.com deal for about the same as the Target clearance. I paid $4.98 for Evolution Skateboarding though, and I don't have Ape Escape 2 yet (I'd buy it for $5 in a heartbeat).
I'll see if they have any more. Is ape escape any good. I didn't even pick one up for myself.
I've heard it is very good, I liked the first one.

I went by my local Target (Greenbelt, MD) after work today and found the following:

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for GCN, $5
Star Wars: Jedi Knight 2, Jedi Outcast for GCN, $7.50
Super Monkey Ball 2 for GCN, $7.50
I'll see if they have any more. Is ape escape any good. I didn't even pick one up for myself.
If you can pick up an extra i'll give you $10 for it.
FF:CC for 19.81$ @ target 2day..i used the madden 04 raincheck
Uhh, do you know what a clearance sale means?
well put Wario 64

Clock Tower 3 $4.98 Brighton, MI
Man, it's on clearance but its still 14.98 at the Target by me (Reading, Pa)

I picked up a couple copies of Ape escape today ( one for myself and the other is already spoken for) I'll try to get by there and pick up a few more this weekend , gotta wait till payday. Can't promise anything, but they had about 10 copies left.

Anyone been to the Target's in the IL. and MO. area around St. Louis?
Just wondered if anyone knew of a good one to hit around here.
Thanks

livetnediser, Brighton is a little over a half hour from Flint. Just get on US-23 South, then merge onto I-96 East. The Brighton Target is at the Grand River exit, about 2 minutes after you merge onto 96. They still had 2-3 copies left and I believe that this is the only game they have on clearance. The other two Targets around me still haven't dropped their prices from $10.

Normal, IL

Sol Divide $6.98
Silent Hill 2 $9.99
PSOne/LCD Combo $104.98

Also, how does "hiding the item you want trick" work exactly? Is it because the computer shows the item as "in stock" and discounts the item further? I only ask because a worker told me the prices don't go into effect until they put the sticker on the game, but I'm thinking that lazy employees might not bother. Just wondering.

BS to the sticker has to be there. most of the time there is never any stickers on the games. the computer lists Target as having the item in stock, they do, and its discounted.

What he said was true, and actually what you have to look out for is games that go TOO far sown in price. as in 0.00. You need to find an employee with a handscanner to get the most recent price, and go from there. One time i had found Quake 3 for DC for 4.98, went up to the register, and it came up full price. They said no, got the manager, and they looked at me as if i had just thrown the sticker on there. not a good experience

Michigan has a state law stating they must sell you the item at the stickered price. Target puts codes on the clearance stickers that mirror the upc of the item. Even if those numbers didn't match, you should be able to get the item at the marked price, unless they had videotape of you switching stickers.

Burton, MI
Super Monkey Ball 2- $14.98
Clock Tower 3- $9.98
Hulk (GC)- $14.98
Phantasy Star Online (GC and X)- $6.98 (got the last ones for both systems)
Dino Crisis 3- $9.98 (think I got the last one of these, too)
Dynasty Warriors 4- $14.98 (again, last one)

Ape Escape 2 is excellent! Very playable, and funny too (and also weird at times, typical Japanese weirdness).

I paid $19.99 for it months ago, which was cheap at the time, and it's been well worth that, so if you see it for less, snap it up.

I picked up a Sony brand PSONE LCD Screen at Target today for only $15.12! This was the last one on the shelf and I've seen it various places throughout the store back in January and mysteriously it was back in the video game section after not being there since January.

It had a ton of clearance tags on it, the cheapest being around $60. I just happened to scan it and it came up $15.12. This was at Burke, VA. The box was in good shape, but it had been opened before, but everything was still wrapped and in the package.

They have one LCD/PSONE Combo left, but the price was around $104.98 still.

Whoa, awesome find! the cheapest i've ever heard is around 30 something dollars.

Bah. I went to my local Target today, and they had absolutely nothing worthwhile at all. Unless you count a few copies of Spiderman or Tony Hawk's 2 for the PS1. What a wasted trip! Maybe I'll have to go further afield and see what other stores have got.

The PS1 with LCD screen is $50 at my Target...and I'm not sure if someone mentioned this (too lazy to look through hte thread), but Metroid: Zero Mission is $25.88 at Target.

Not sure if this has been posted but, My target has PS2 Memory cards (single ones) marked down to $19.99.

Also they have the Xbox bundle for $169.99 instead of $179.99 for a limited time.
