Since the Target deals are usually of the "your mileage may vary" type, let's keep all the target clearance deals in this thread.

Here is a fairly easy way to check if your local Target has the games on clearance without making the store clerk unlock the display case and price-scan a bunch of games. Very often, games may be on sale, but will not be marked as such.

BigDirty came up with this nice time saver. Respect his cheap ass skills.

1) Check this thread for games that have been reported on clearance.

2) Go to www.half.com, http://bits.com/ or similar website and search for the game to locate its UPC code number. Its in the grey box underneath the box art graphic.

3) Go to www.schworak.com/upc/ , www.milk.com/barcode/ , or www.upcdatabase.com and enter the code so you can print out the UPC.

4) Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts and search for cheap ass deals!

FYI: "When a game's price ends with 8 cents, further reduction is possible, when it ends in 4 cents, that's the ball game, pick it up cause it's not going any lower. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." - BigDirty

When posting what you have found, please note the location that you found it at, example:

Philadelphia, PA
Snyder Plaza

Game Name, System, Price

Picked up the following in different target stores around Cincinnati Ohio today:

Starcraft (pc) $2.48
Maximo Ghosts to Glory (ps2) $4.38
DOA Extreme Beach Volleyball (xbox) $7.48
Wreckless (xbox) $4.48

i've found
Metal Gear Solid: Substance for $10
Wreckless $5
Max Payne $15
Playstation 1 games as low as $4 including THPS 3

I check everytime by the software department and by the dvds and cds

Every Target has specific end caps that they always place clearance items at. Go through your local store and find all of them. Check them for great non-gaming deals too.

N. Attleboro, MA
Silent Hill 3 (PS2)- $14.98

Picked one up, should be at least one left.

EDIT: They finally had a goddamn sale at my Target!!!! It's been months!!!
Why don't you sign up for the meetup.com at the panera across the street?
I didnt know there was one there either... Maybe you'll get two new faces

I hit Daytona last night, got Brood War for 2.48 and Homeworld 2 for 7.48. Nothing console wise at all except for a few Max Paynes at 9.98.

the only thing that i ever saw clearanced at my target in bel air md is pride fc (ps2) for 4.88 and max payne (xbox) for 9.44.......pride fc sucks and max payne i already have on ps2....i scanned a few guides and they all said "price error" when i self scanned em....does that mean they're .01?

Neither of my targets ever have anything (Middletown and Dayton Ohio). The cheapest game I've ever found was NHL 2003 (Xbox) for $.01 and they wouldnt sell it to me. The next cheapest thing was $12.99 for that crappy Nightcaster II game. Every other game is either $19.99 or $29.99 on the clearance rack :whistle2:(

Pinole, CA Target

Super Monkey Ball Jr. (GBA) Scanned at 0.00 sold to me for 4.98 (last one)

Diablo (Best Seller Series) (PC) 2.48 (one left in main PC game section)

Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (PC) 12.48 (Been watching this go to 30% than 50% and finally now 75%, one left on endcap)

BTW, Vtdgnca, what Target did you find Freedom Fighters at?
Anything in here for the chicagoland area?
Nothing worthwhile at the Ford City & Cicero locations. However, the Pulaski location had XB Breakdown aplenty. Cheers!

does anyone know if target does that whole price matching thing if the price of their games changes?

that is poorly worded, so let me explain what i mean: i bought silent hill 3 a couple weeks ago when it was on clearance for $14.98. well i checked today and the target by my house (quinn rd. and gratiot in clinton twp.) dropped the price to $7.48. so, is target like other stores where i can show them my receipt and i will get the difference refunded? thanks.

I believe official policy is no, but sometimes if you get a nice customer service person, they will give you the price adjustment on a clearance item.

What you can do is buy it again at $7.48 and return one of the games with the $14.98 receipt

That's what I did with Jet Set Radio Future (before it was bundled with the Xbox). Bought it for $25, I later saw it for $12.44, bought it again and returned it with my $25 receipt and got my $25 back.

I say buy it for the lower price and return with your higher price receipt. I just picked up Silent Hill 3 for $14.98 yesterday (1 left). The lower $7.48 is definitely a YMMV situation.

They won't, I tried.

I would guess that you cannot do this... especially if the price rings up 0.00 and you have to get someone with a scanner to sell it to you. Now if it is in the computer system for 7.48 at one of those self service scanners I would say you could proably price match it.

You mean price-matching policy? I don't know if they do that, but what someone mentioned above should work. You don't actually get the difference back. You just go back there and return the one with the higher priced receipt. I don't see why they wouldn't accept it.

Just go back to Target and buy the same game you want "price-matched". Keep the game unopened and take that and the older receipt of the same game, but with the higher price to the Customer Service Desk. They should give you back what you paid for the game originally.

Picked up some good deals this past weekend at various Target's in ca.
Actually bought
Lodi, Ca
GCN- Hitman 2 ($5.48 I think there were a couple left

Inglewood, Ca
GCN- SSX Tricky ($4.98 A ton of these

Camarillo, Ca
GCN- Hulk ($6.48 couple left. Rang up at $0 then they checked another way with the scanner and got $6.48 somehow.

Didn't get
LA/Culver City? on La Cienega
Had a Zelda Disc (OoT) that rang up at $.01 but after the lady rang it up, another employee took it and said they are supposed to be given away with systems. I could only cry as he took it. Was the only one there.

Paso Robles, Ca
GCN- Def Jam Vendetta. Rang up as zero but some "know it all" employee just guessed a price and said 14.99. I asked if he was sure, and he said it didn't matter, if I brought it up to the register they would call him and he would tell them $14.99. Was only one there, didn't get it, and didn't want to explain the whole clearance thing or argue it.

I had this same thing happen with Kya. It rang up as zero and the clerk sold it
to me for $19.99. I went ahead and got then immediately went to
the customer service (of a different target) and told the lady that
I thought that I got over charged for it. When she saw it ring up for
zero, she agreed that it was on clearance, and I ended up getting the price adjusted to $7.48.
This lady was really nice though, so your mileage may very, but
if you can't get them to lower price, you can always return it.
Also, I'd say that I would have had a more difficult time doing this
if I had waited a week or so inbetween buying and price adjusting.

Hickory Hollow (Nashville) TN:

XIII (PC) $7.48
.Hack Part 3: Outbreak (PS2) $14.98
Dark Cloud 2 (PS2) $14.98
Max Payne (Xbox, Platinum) $9.98

The only one I bought was .Hack, and they had another copy of it still. I was tempted by XIII, but I'd rather have the Xbox version, plus my tax refund hadn't come in yet (it came in this morning, D'oh). I was tempted by MP, but I already have the PC version, it has just been on loan to a friend for about a year (I loaned it to him the day I got it, Double D'oh).

Has anyone seen the "new" price scanners at a Target lately? They changed the whole system so that instead of something scanning as $0.00, it simply says "Item Not Found - We're sorry, this item is no longer..." and so on. This happened to one of the Targets near me (Sunnyvale, CA) and it just makes looking for clearance games a lot harder...:(

that happened to me and i had to go to the customer service counter to have it scanned in. their scanners will still put out a price for you. i got iron storm (pc) for $1.50 (including tax)! :D

I have had this done for me. i bought a clearance at one target found it cheaper at another and took my tickit in and got a 7.00 refund. Not all do it it but they may! It dosn't hurt to try.

Dammit, I actually got a couple of decent deals today. XIII (PC) for $7.48, and TRON 2.0 (PC) for $14.98. My first ever Target deals! I thought the day would never come.

After checking 5 something Targets i finally found the PS1/LCD combo but it was still marked at 74 something instead of 37. Anyone know if i have to do anything special to get it for 37 or just wait it out? Also it was no longer in the system. It did look like it had been opened previously also.

if it was no longer in the system, you should have tried to buy it and see what happened, chances are that it would have been 37 or less.

A few days ago I got Dark Cloud 2 for 14.98 at University Heights Target and today I got Silent Hill 2 XBOX for 4.98

UPDATE on the Xbox Wireless G Adapter. I took a trip out to the Norman,OK Target. They did'nt have any in stock but I figured what the hell and typed the product code into the wall scanner and it came up $19.98.

Just thought I would pass that along.

I took it up to the cashier in the electronics department and asked them to check it. I thought maybe the self scanner was screwed up. And they said they would charge me the 75 that was marked on it.

Take it to the dressing rooms in the clothing section. Their should be an employee there. Tell them that the item scans $0.00 (atleast that is how you have described it) and if they could use a hand scanner to check the price. Only do this though if the item does scan up $0, if it's scanning up at $75 then you will have to wait for it to get lowered.
I have'nt been turnded down yet.

It currently is not scanning up as anything it's not in the system. It has one of those Red was 149.95 is currently 74 something discount price stickers on it. I have considered even removing it and seeing what they do but don't feel right about doing that.

You don't have to remove the whole sticker just the section with the $75 on it, or like I said take it to the dressing rooms area and have the employee there scan it. If it scans up at the $37 price ask them to tag it.

Not sure why it would actually scan at the dressing room unlike the rest of the store but i will try that thanks.

You will have to have them use the hand scanner(NOT the wall scanner), they keep the clearence tags and machines at the dressing room desk. Which is why it's best to get it scanned by the employee over at that section, so that they can easily put a new tag on it at the last clearence price.

Well i went to the clothing area and they didn't have one, But i did track down someone with a hand scanner and it did ring up at 37.48. Thanks for the advice.

Pensacola Target had Breakdown on temporary markdown to 19.99. Are temporary markdowns different for each location? I am tempted to go out and get this tonight for fear of the markdown ending tonight.
Has anyone played this yet? Is it any good?
