Got a pair of Row F VIP tix myself[/quote]
The website says, VIP ($125) seating includes meet & greet with Nobuo Uematsu following the performance.

You should prepare some Japanese to say to him.
I recommend, "Pantsu ni, unko o shimashita".

Roughly translated, "In my pants, I made a dookie."

Atlanta would rock. But if they hit the Dallas area, my company has properties in that area and I'm sure an "emergency" could arise. ;)

i figured they'd hit the east coast then circle back to Cali. I think we'll see the concert in Fla, TX, NY, maybe MI (Fox Theatre, I'd go again!!), maybe seattle, then back to california. we'll see. I'm just pumped as hell for Chicago.

I wonder what kind of memorabillia they'll have for sale?

How do you have a Final Fantasy concert??? Are there like beeps and bloops, or orchestras, or tribute bands???

No, it's not blips and bloops. It's a full orchestra and if you've played any games since SNES and Genesis, you'd be aware that videogame music is much more than "beeps and bloops"

Actually, the orchestrated versions of the songs from the earlier Final Fantasies are awesome, too (from the NES and SNES).

Have you heard the FF3 track from the new Black Mages CD? Awesome stuff. It's not orchestra, but it's hard rock and it still catches that nostalgia flare.

How cool would it be if Uematsu did a song or two with the Black Mages at the Dear Friends concert? Pretty damn cool if you ask me!

Really? I might as well not have mentioned orchestras then, eh? I mean, after all everyone knows there's never been an FF since FF V (or VI or whatever). Where I came up with orchestra is completely insane! Can you believe I acctually thought there was an FFVII or VIII?! I even (only for a moment) thought there was a IX!!! Hot damn, better label me clinically insane! Aside from the sarcasm, however... (No offense, Lucky13 :) ) I was only aware of one actual song (with words and what-not) and that was the one from X. (That metal song from the beggining and when you fight Jecht). That's why I was wondering. A lot of friends have enjoyed the FF music and have been obsessing over the soundtracks so I was curious.

No offense taken....I was just messin with ya. Since FF8 there have been songs with lyrics, but they've been mainly in Japanese. For me, it's all about the nostalgia of the music. For instance, I love 1000 Words from FFX-2. I absolutely love that song, I even get a little emotional. But, as far as "normal" music goes, I love metal. Like, slipknot, mudvayne, and Tool. When it comes to game music, it's about reliving those moments that I spent with the game and how much fun I had or how much the story touched me. And, no series has had that effect like the Final Fantasy series.

Good lord, someone's making a KILLING with these concerts! $45 is the cheapest?! I'm sorry, I guess I grew outta the video game music thing, it just don't grab me that much. Sucks too, cause I'm close enuff to go...We'll see how long tix are available, and if I somehow win the lottery or something.

How do you get a hold of the lyrical ones? (Are they like metal? Anything along those lines will work for me. Techno is great, too.) As for FF X-2... I could not play through it. It was so extremely girly (even with our love for FF, the girlishness prevented me and my best friend from completing it. Apparently we're not that hardcore.), so I have no idea what song you're talking about...

Most of the vocal FF songs are pretty fruity, if you ask me. They're mostly J-Pop stuff, Otherworld from FFX is definitely not the norm. So vocal songs are:

One Winged Angel (Sephi's theme) - ff7
Eyes on me
the one from FF9
another one from ff10 (I know, pretty helpful, huh?)

Then there's Simple and Clean from Kingdom Hearts. It's not FF or Uematsu, but it's one hell of a catchy song.

You also can't forget Liberi Fatali from FF8. That one ranks right up there with One Winged Angel, IMO.

More on topic, I'm lucky enough to have gotten a couple tickets to the SF performance. Can't wait til the 7th of March. ^_^
