Ha, very cool. They were featured in FHM or Stuff or something a few months ago too.

Speaking of PWG, they've begun releasing names for the 2007 Battle Of Los Angeles tournament (past winners include Chris Bosh and Davey Richards). So far, 8 of the 24 names have been released, including Davey Richards, Joey Ryan, Chris Hero, Chris Bosh, Dragon Kid, Jimmy Rave, "The Anarchist" Doug Williams, and Susumu Yokosuka.

Myke, I could be mistaken, but were you listening to Brujeria a few days ago?
Doug Williams is a treat to watch perform. He's like a Steve Regal/Dave Taylor style dude, but if those two didn't drink, snort, and swallow the primes of their careers into oblivion. I think he and Nigel McGuinness are very alike in that respect, but Williams doesn't do all the ballerina shit McGuinness sometimes does. If I never see a corner headstand again, it'll be too soon.

I was probably listening to Brujeria - my iTunes is always on shuffle.

EDIT: Well, at the very least, they didn't have Vince sign the mirror. It shows their brains are, at bare minimum, turned *on*.

I've never seen him work, but I'm planning on going to BOLA so I guess I'll get my chance. PWG's got a working relationship with Dragon Gate, so we'll probably see more of their guys come over as well as some more ROH guys. Hopefully there'll be some fun surprises.

I laughed when I saw Brujeria come up. A couple of guys I used to work with always listened to them - crazy to think it's one of the guys from XPW in a mosh band.

One of the guys from Brujeria was in XPW? Huh?

Five Years Folks!!! Who again said TNA wouldn't last three months??? Are you eating your crow yet? YOU BETTER BE!

I can't wait for the PPV to start. This is going to be great. :D

Their vocalist/bassist is Pat Hoed, otherwise known as Larry Rivera. :)
Nope. Its as the Municipal Auditorium in Nashville.
gay....i thought the whole point was that it would be in the same old venue

wow and a mystery opponent in the main event?

killings is a heel now?

fuck..im trying to write a damn essay and now the ppv is distracting me

It's Jeff Jarrett or, while unlikely, RVD. I've ordered the show, so it better be good. First PPV since Angle/Joe II and ECW ONS 2006.

Pat Hoed is also the announcer for the LA Derby Dolls - shame they're a banked track roller derby league, or else we'd face them at some point once we get WFTDA certification.
wtf jarret? hope not... whats he been up to in the last few weeks.
Coping with the death of his wife.

Hernandez is tossing Senshi around like he's a fuckin' "wrestling buddy."

I wouldn't be surprised to see Sabu.

Wacky Kurt Angle interview of the week -
According to one interview Angle did this past week, he said he personally called Lesnar trying to put together the match for Bodog. He also said he didn't think D. White respected his gold medal, and claimed that his trainer in Pittsburgh had developed secret techniques that Tito and Chuck don't know that he'd use to beat them if he were ever to face them.
Touch of Death FTW!

Sabu's got a 90-day non-compete - he won't be appearing on TNA PPV tonight.
Jay Lethal
You mean Black Machismo my friend, Ohhhh Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
Good to see him get a title push because he has one of the funniest gimmicks in a long time.

A pretty solid PPV so far; a few good matches, and mercifully, the "bad" matches (Shelly/Backlund, VKM/Bashams) were kept mercifully short. Lance Hoyt's turn on VKM was good, and I like Christy Hemme as the kind of manager who is always a step ahead of those she's feuding with.

I still wish VKM and Lance Hoyt would be fired, of course.

Backlund also looks phenomenal for his age, though the match was pretty campy.
here we go....

I don't think we need spoilers for a live ppv show, but thanks anyways.

The 5th man won't be RVD, his WWE contract ends at the end of this month. It will 99.99% be Jarrett.

Animal/Steiner vs. 3D is an interesting 'best of the '80s' vs. 'best of the modern era' match, I doubt it'll be at all good, and I'm pissed that TNA didn't say that Scott was hurt before tonight's PPV (not counting TNA Today), but at least something historic came out of it.

lol.. k..

i remember ppl bitching a lot about not spoiler tagging... i guess they are just being smart now and avoiding this thread if they plan on watching the ppv later

One of the pitfalls of taping TV two weeks in advance, since their hands were (somewhat) tied - after all, Scott wrestled on TV this past Thursday.

Hmm. Sting rapelled down from the rafters in his entrance. Expect much wrestling nerd outrage to ensue, and for Vince Russo to be blamed for not respecting Owen Hart. Something dumb like that.

so i guess we will find out who the mystery guy is now...

so everyones convinced that its jarret... i mean they are in nashville so the chances are high

edit... forgot about abyss and tomko

Meltzer revealed some new info on Sherri's death - she did not die from natural causes, her death is a complicated matter, there's a full police investigation going on, he'll know tomorrow, and the cause of death isn't believed to have been suicide.

From reading Slammiversary spoilers, it seems like they're really rushing this PPV along, as most matches have been under 10 minutes. Saving time for the main event?

TNA has done plenty of classless stuff in 5 years, but contrasting the "dead Vince" storyline with that interview with Jeff Jarrett showed what a classy company looks like in wrestling. I don't think there is any question what kind of company WWE is.

Looks like it's gonna be Chris Harris.

Now, I understand the reason for putting Chris Harris in the 5th spot - but why him and not James Storm? AMW worked the very first TNA show too, man.
