With blessings from the big man himself...

The Toys R US clearance deals, much like the Target ones, are very YMMV. As a result of that - and the fact that the board is currently littered with TRU clearance sales - it's time to try something new.

The CAG Toys R Us Clearance Thread

The goal is to have this thread modeled after the current Target clearance thread (and its predecessor), so the basic rules are the same...

When posting what you have found, please note the location that you found it at, example:

Philadelphia, PA
Snyder Plaza

Game Name, System, Price

-----
This thread is for Clearance deals, not sale items or raincheck "scams"
Please Post City, State and Store (If City has many stores), game, system and price

Keep extraneous discussion to a minimum, as posts not pretating to clearance deals may be deleted by the mod crew.
If you hunt around through the forums and look for posts by tubtub and benboxer (our resident TRU folk), they've said that any TRU price ending in .98 can be a "variable" price, where one store has it for 5.98, while another has it for 7.98 and another for 3.98. The .98 is a "regional" price, for lack of a better term. Anything ending in .95 and .99 are chain-wide, from what I've seen from them.
That should do it for the first post. Good luck, everyone!

Thanks for tossing in my paraphrase of the pricing, Gothic.

I think in the last TRU price drop post by benboxer, it shows the pricing variance for titles with a .98 at the end. And somewhere around here is tubtub's explanation of it.

I noticed these late last week at the KOP, PA TRU:

Chaos Legion (PS2) - $4.48
Beyond Good & Evil (PS2) - $6.48
Turok Evolution (XB) - $1.48
Fatal Frame II (PS2) - $15.98

This could be a pretty cool thread. It would be much easier finding stuff instead of wading through five different topics on it. Nice idea Gothic. Did you come up with it yourself?

Yeah. Finally. Thanks OP. I'll head back to my local TRU and post what's left and for how much. I don't know if the stores are re-stocking, but it does seem as if they continue to find things in the back.

TRU in Brockton, MA:
(all prices approximate)

Beyond Good and Evil (PS2) $6.00 - a few left
Bloodrayne (PS2) $5.50 -a ton of these
Xenosaga $4.00 -many at this price
Primal $5.50 -many of these as well
Turok (PS2) $2.50 -Alot of these
XIII - $6.00 - a couple of these left
Virtua Figher 4: Evo - $6.00 - a couple
Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy (PS2) $4.50 - a couple of these
Castlevania (PS2) $5.50 - I may have picked up the last one

That's all I remember off the top of my head.

West Farms Mall Area
West Hartford, CT

Beyond Good and Evil - PS2 - $3.98
Dave Mirra Freestyle 2 - PS2 - $3.00 (green tag)
Unreal Championshio - XBox - $3.00 (green tag)
----

Manchester, CT TRU
Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance - PS2 - $5.98
Turok Evolution - PS2/XB - $2.48
----

And all the TRU I've gone to have had DC games:

Carrier, Sega Bass Fishing, Sega Marine Fishing, the 2k series

I got RE code veronica x GH version for ps2 for $3.98 at the Summit Park Mall in Niagara Falls, NY

they also had Tenchu for xbox at $7.98

I'll make sure to take something to jot down whatever I see at the two stores I'll be going to and edit this when I get back.

Edit- Well I went to two different stores, Roseville and Troy Michigan, and neither had anything worth my time. -_- The majority of the games were 2K2 and 2K3 sports games for PS2 and DC. There were a couple PS2 Beyond Good and Evils at the Troy store but not much else. Roseville had a ton of Jak and Daxter's, Perfect Darks, some speaker/stand/game selector thing for the PS2 for $9, and one copy of Eternal Darkness but that was about it. There were also a bunch of aluminum PS2/XBox/GC cases that someone mentioned they got for like $5, but I couldn't get a price scan.

They also had Turok for both PS2 and Xbox for, like, $4.98, and Mafia on Xbox for $11.98. They also had La Pucelle, but it was marked at $29.99. I'm tempted to go back and check, though...

Got a system link cable for $2.10
Also scored a Halo strategy guide for $4.50

One of my local stores has an xbox lcd green tagged at $150 - 70% off would make it $45. Still not enough to make me spring, any word on the next level of discounts?

I got (in Jacksonville, FL)

Twisted Metal Black for $6.00. (Marked as $19.99).

Also, not really clearance, but Devil May Cry was $10.00.

TRU, Cranberry, PA (Suburban Pittsburgh)

Tenchu (Xbox) $6.98
Unreal 2 (Xbox) $8.98
Xenosaga (Non-GH!!!) $4.98

Several Dreamcast games under $3 including the 2K sports games, Space Channel 5, not uch else.

There wasn't much else. I know Tenchu has a loyal fan base so that may be worth looking into.

Haha...that's your job to take it off...they're made that way.

There was a list of Green Tag deletions today. About 7-8 of them were R-Zone stuffs. Here are the highlights of the deletions...

Dexters Laboratory Deesaster Strikes (gba) (back to 14.99)
Virtual Fighter 4 Evolution (ps2) (19.99)
R-Racing Evolution (ps2) (14.99)
Kung Fu Chaos (xb) (14.99)

I think these are universal deletions since they were on internal store website

I work at a TRU so I am trying to remember what I've seen or see everyday working R-Zone
asianxcore -- you work in the San Rafael R-Zone? You've sold me some cheap ass games if so.
yup I do.
I got (in Jacksonville, FL)

Twisted Metal Black for $6.00. (Marked as $19.99).

Also, not really clearance, but Devil May Cry was $10.00.
Damn I wish I could get the new TMBO package for that price...

I can tell you at the TRU I work at in Brookfield, Wisconsin, the following came off green tag as of today (it may be that way all over):

True Crime Streets of LA (all)
R Racing Evolution (PS2, Cube)
Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution (PS2)
Dexters Lab (GBA)

Devil May Cry is $6.48. Chaos Legion is also a markdown game, currently $8.48. XIII is $7.48. Oddly enough, we still have a players guide for that game, and it costs full price yet, $14.99, more than the game itself.
Shadowman 2 and Primal both are $14.98 and also green tag as well.

Most PSX games are green tag. I've found only a few exceptions as of right now, and those are: Madden 2005, anything Final Fantasy, and any DBZ game. That doesn't mean there aren't others not green tag though.

PSX games on green tag that I can remember atm:
Fighting Force, Megaman 8, Megaman Legends, Syphon Filter 2, Driver 2, Twisted Metal 4, Tekken 3, Spyro 2 (all Spyros may be in fact) Street Fighter Alpha 3, Soul Blade, and then some crappy sea monkey game.

N64 has some games on green tag. The only 3 we got now though are Resident Evil 2, WCW Mayhem, and Perfect Dark, all green tag.

Also, a few things before I finish here-

A game may have a green tag on it, but that price on the green tag may not be right; they're probally lower. For example, Primal said 29.99 at my store, but it's 14.98. And most GBA accessories didn't have the right price.

Can anyone tell me if Green Tag is 50 or 70 percent off at their store? It's been 70% at mine for about 3 weeks now, just don't know if it's a nationwide thing.

You may not know it, but TRU does price match it's own website, but it's own website only, no one elses. The catch is, you must figure shipping cost into that price match too.

I hope you guys find that useful.

South Bay TRU in Boston, MA

Fatal Frame 2 $11.98
Arc the Lad Collection $6.48
Drake $2.98
Sword of Mana $10.98
Virtua Tennis $3
Beyond Good and Evil $4.98

Plenty of Drakes available, even after some guy hoarded a bunch.

i got xenosaga(non-gh) for 4.98 at my TRU is roswell, ga. it was not a green tag item, because 4.98 on the price tag. so it may not be YMMV

If only Fatal Frame II and R: Racing were those prices for Xbox, I'd be out the door immediately.

I can't stomach using memory cards anymore so I always buy Xbox for multi-console.

How many FF2's and Arcs were there?

I got the Arc the Lad collection for $19.99 at Media Play about 15 months ago. I thought it was one of the best gaming bargains I ever got even though I haven't even opened it.

asianxcore~~~

how many dead or alive xtreme beach volleyball's for xbox do you guys have there? finding a sealed copy in b&m stores is like impossible. I had a hard enough time finding a used (but in pretty much mint condition) copy at fye.

is there anyway that you could hook me up if i am interested? =D

I just put them on the floor last night, I remember there being around 4 copies. then again some might've been sold since last night.
I picked up Perfect Dark in Escondido, CA for $2.75, they had a ton left.
Is that the one next to the Target and Mervyns? If so, I grabbed a copy of Karnaaj Rally for the GBA for $3.00 yesterday.

Fatal Frame 2 (4.98)
Devil May Cry (6.98)

Yup, that's the one! Right off the 15...

Overland Park, KS (near Oak Park mall)

Chaos Legion - $8.48
Beyond Good and Evil - $6.98
XIII - $4.48
Arc the Lad - under 10 bucks, can't remember precisely
Manhunt - $10.xx
Devil May Cry (GH) - $4.48

All PS2 versions.
Didn't cash in on any of these, but went across the street to CC and PM'd two copies of XIII for $3.43 a piece :) The cashier didn't even call TRU, I think she couldn't find the # for the store and was too lazy to fetch it. Guess I shoulda tried to PM a better game since she took my word for the $4.48 price.
