The "Trip-Hop is the shit!" Song of the Moment
Deltron 3030 - Deltron 3030 (album)

Holy god, maybe I'm late to the party, but this is the best hip-hop album I've ever heard.
It's up there with "The New Danger", "The Beatiful Struggle", and "Like Water for Chocolate".

Welcome to Detrioit City- Trick Trick feat. Eminem

Jesus. Everything that Eminem touches is gold. Especially since he has stopped going solo.

Posted this in the OTT, but it will probably be more appreciated in here:

Jay-Z just brought out Nas on stage with him and they performed Dead Presidents...

Hip-Hop history made tonight.

Can't wait for the DVD.

They just performed Made You Look.

And now they are doing Encore acapella adlib!

Damn... I can't wait to see this.

There was a bunch of other guest appearences (P. Diddy & The LOX performing All About The Bengimens, Mary J. Blige, Kanye West, Paul Wall, Memphis Bleek, Beanie Sigel, T.I.) , but this is what will make histroy.
Blue Öyster Cult - Don't Fear The Reaper
Strangely, I was thinking about that song earlier... all day.

I heard it twice, both times on the radio. Same station, not 2 hours apart. I thought that shit only happened on top 40, but apparently "classic" rock is just as bad.

There's a classic rock station a town away from me. And, to my dismay, they actually play some good stuff.

And, although people ruin the cred. of this band, the HIM cover on "Don't Fear the Reaper" is pretty nice.

Some other covers to chew one:

Queens of the Stone Age - Never Say Never; a cover of a Romeo Void ('80s) song.

The Cardigans - Iron Man; Black Sabbath cover, obviously. ;) Far better than people give it credit for.

311 - Love Song; The Cure cover -- although nearly ruined by girls and pop stations, it really is a good song.

White Zombie - I'm Your Boogie Man; a K.C. & The Sunshine Band cover, confirming Rob Zombie's obsession with the '70s and post-Disco influence. ;)

Powerman 5000 - Let the Good Times Roll; a brilliant cover of The Cars.

Pete Yorn - China Girl; great Iggy Pop cover. Both Iggy Pop and Pete Yorn are subtle geniuses.

Faith No More - Easy; BRILLIANT cover of The Commodores.

I'm listening to Little Girl right now.

I always loved the Cardigan's covers. IIRC, didn't they also do a Sabbath cover on another album? Or maybe that was a different band they covered on their third album?

Yup. They did "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" as well, in addition to a track called "Cocktail Party Bloody Cocktail Party". ;)

I know "Cocktail Party Bloody Cocktail Party" appeared on their b-sides / rarities album (Other Side of the Moon), but I can't remember what "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" appeared on -- I think it was Emmerdale.

Moby - "Sunday (Day before my Birthday)"

Even though, the bold-5'2-100 pound dude is made fun of, 18 is a great album.

Coldplay - Spies.

I thought I'd check out a Coldplay album today, so I figured I'd start from the beginning and pick up their debut album. Pretty good stuff, especially if you're in a pretty bummed mood.

Jay was doing a 3 show tour called "I Declare War". Yesterday was the first show in NY, today was in Philly, not sure about the 3rd one.
