Your question has nothing to do with the topic at hand, doesn't it?

But I'll answer it anyway. The only time I'm going to see The Great Lopez Brothers is if I buy a knock off from a shady character in a mall in the middle of nowhere. I'm not going to play it on an official system through an official emulator using an official rom from an official source.

So then, given that the product I'd be buying would be a piece of shit and would probably break, as well as being illegal to begin with, then no, I wouldn't be ok for those reasons.

Which, again, has nothing at all to do with the original topic.

Further, a better comparison might be if Bowser got changed to "EvilDragonMan" rather than Mario - the central character you're using - being changed, so again, comparison fails.
Looks like someone offends easy. I'm not trying to piss anyone off so i'll change it up again. JUST FOR YOU because I love you.

What if there was some mysterious reason SMB2 could never be released on VC and they told you that all you could get was Doki Doki Panic.

Dokidokipanic_comparison.png

Basically the same game without Mario.
Would you be fine with that.

I've never played it, so sure, why the hell wouldn't I be?

If you're going to resort to "looks like someone offends easily" just because you can't back up your shit, then there's not much of a reason for me to respond anymore.

Well then it's yes for you. Yer fine with it & that's all I needed to know.

For me I really don't care what PunchOut is released. If it's not Tyson i'm not going to get it. Simple as that. The whole retro thing IMO is thinking about when I used to get home from school and beat up Mike Tyson on NES. For some people.... thay may have had the Mr Dream PunchOut, but I cant think of anybody who actually did. If I can't do it the way I used to, then forget it.

What was even there for me to "back up". It's Tyson or No tyson. And it's NOT Tyson. You didn't have to get so excited.

I think people got excited because that's basically the "wii sux b/c itz not HD" argument. replace HD with Tyson, and wii with Punch-Out. The two games are functionally identical, only the sprite is different. But if that's enough for you not to buy it, to each their own. I probably wouldn't get it either way.
For me, the whole "virtual console thing" is for playing fucking games. Given the choice between paying for nostalgia and paying for a quality game, I'll take the latter.

Also: Golden Axe II and Shining in the Darkness are both the weakest entries in their respective series'. Replace 'em with Golden Axe III and Shining Force II, and then you've got a line-up.

On the plus side: Shining Force 1 = holygoddamnhellthisisgood (and that would be the same regardless of whether or not Dark Dragon was replaced with Dream Dragon).
shining force two was fuckin AWESOME.
I'm whining about some detail being slightly off!!!
Oh shit! All this obsession over visual minutiae differentiation that doesn't affect gameplay made me realize something about all the classic games I am buying strictly for the purpose of reminiscing and not to enjoy as games: All these games I'm buying on the Virtual Console are being played through my Wii, which uses composite cables, and NOT AN RF ADAPTER! It must look SO much different! I barely remember what playing games on an RF adapter was like, but just knowing that something is different is enough to spoil the whole GODDAMN thing. fuck the virtual console, fuck the "wii", and fuck games. All I got and all I want are my faded memories.

Thanks guys. You really taught me what's important.

Anybody making guesses for Monday at all yet?
I'm gonna go for....

Alien Storm
Mach Rider
and either Virtual Fighter or SMB:RPG (one could hope for smb)

Come on Super Metroid. You gotta be somewhere.

Bad news. It's not going to be Super Metroid because Nintendo couldn't get the rights to the word "super" anymore, since that was trademarked by Dave "Superdave" Osborn.

The only way they can release it is if they replace Samus Aran with Superdave, who now is equipped with digital speech to combat the many aliens of Zebes.

Also Samus's ship has been replaced by a kind of interstellar motorcycle.

It is because I do so love my fellow CAGs - especially you, CosmosTheMouse - that I bring you this information, so that you can make your decision now to avoid buying the game.

/this is not meant to be inflamatory in anyway, I'm just having fun and I'm bored at work

Hey guys, here's what Europe got today:

Pac-Man NES
Actraiser SNES
Bonk's Revenge TG 16

Japan is getting Final Fight and Kirby's Dream Course this month, so those can show up soon now too.

As for what we're getting, Punch Out has to be really soon since both Japan and Europe has already gotten it, along with Zelda 2.

On Wikipedia, Zelda 2 has a release date of April 2007 so Nintendo must have announced that somewhere - the citation is the May issue of Nintendo Power, which states Zelda 2, Gradius 3 and Vectorman will all hit in April 2007. Supposedly on Page 30 - 31 if anyone wants to verify it.

According to the wiki, we are DEFINITELY getting Bonk's Revenge this Monday.

If we all start chanting like that commerical, "Mario, Mario, Mario, Mario!" and all arrange ourselves on the earth in the shape of Mario's head, will Nintendo give us Mario 3?

I dunno Norm, but if you were a hot dog...and you were starving, would you eat yourself?
Actraiser, huh? That would be pleasant.
I made a few edits, we're definitely getting Bonk's Revenge this Monday, and Vectorman, Zelda 2, and Gradius 3 are all slated for April 2007 according to NP.

Battle Lode Runner and Shockman are also slated for April 2007 for the TG 16.

That's probably all the games for the rest of the month, or close to it. We'll see something like -

Bonk's Revenge
Vectorman
Zelda 2

And next week -

Gradius 3
Battle Lode Runner

And the last week in April -

Shockman
Punch Out (probably)

They might even do Gradius 3 by itself.

This has nothing to do with Super Dave because as we all know "digital speech" has been trademarked by Steven Hawking and Jesus Christ himself. So the idea of putting them together just won't work. So I refuse to answer if I would still get it. But I think I would so why not.

IF THE MOON WERE MADE OF CHEESE WOUD YOU EAT IT?

And a 1... and a 2!
I'm also bored.

Pro Wrestling was a decent guess btw. I totally forgot about that.
It was my third-ever RPG (my favourite genre), and my second-ever SRPG (my favourite subgenre), after the original Shining Force. Still one of the most fun games I've ever played.
fo sho mang, I paid 69.99 for that shit at best buy with a Nomad, and had the best summer ever! the music was great.

Weekends here. What's everyone say Monday will hold?

I'm going to say:
Bonk's Revenge - TG16
Pac-Man - NES (..rolls eyes)
Dragon's Curse - TG16

I don't predict a big week.
But that's MYYYYYY predictions

That was already released...

Dear God let them not release Shining Force 1 or 2 this week. It's a busy week for me and I don't need to spend any time fighting The Dark Dragon.

Updated OP.

Do you guys really want to see all the rumored titles for other countries (like Europe, Japan etc) that have not been rumored in America? What about titles that have little to no chance of coming out (Some Hercules game for the SNES that was never released in America). Let me know.

And if it's not updated in under 10 minutes from each Nintendo press release being put out, you're fired.

And make me a sandwich. Turkey on wheat.

I quit!

Ok, maybe not.
Any chance they release Paper Mario N64 or Super Mario RPG to coincide with Super Paper Mario?

God, please say yes.
At this point doubtful. I would have loved either one a week or two ago...but it looks like it won't be happening. Sigh.

Get to work on that turkey sandwich, because I ordered daroga to make it for me ages ago.

Now I see that chizler is just delegating his duties out to lesser minions.

I'm fine with just U.S./Canada stuff. We have a few folks from the European nations that come through here, but they're surely not using CAG as a prime news resource, and for the majority of us, who cares what other countries are getting? At best it'll just make everybody all grumblecakes around here.

And you're doing fine work with this thread, btw. Thank you!

Look back a few pages, from a business standpoint, it would make absolutely no sense for them to do this, which is why they won't. If they release Paper Mario or Mario RPG, it'll just eat into sales of the full priced Wii game.

Actually I could see crap on the VC for the next 2+ weeks just because of SPM.

I don't know, I just can't see how a $10.00/$8.00 dollar VC game would eat into sales of Super Paper Mario. I think it'd boost sales more than anything. People right now are hungry for games for the Wii, any game that is realtively decent will be gobbled up regardless... we're pretty desperate at the moment.
Bonk's Revenge (TG16)
Punch Out (NES)
Virtua Fighter 2 (GEN)
Is that confirmed OR you just doing what I do and pulling 3 games out of your ass? LOL
Punch Out (NES)
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Please, everyone, don't buy Virtua Fighter 2, it is HORRIBLE.

This means, for the rest of the month, we will see:

Zelda 2, Gradius 3, Vectorman, two TG 16 games, so I expect them to show up in the next two weeks (First three were confirmed by Nintendo Power, the TG 16 games by Hudson).

I really doubt we'll be seeing any surprises.

Gizmo, you forgot to put that Vectorman is confirmed for April ;) Maybe you could also put WHERE it was confirmed, as well? Like Zelda 2 was confirmed in NP, for instance.

But This Isn't Mike Tyson's Punch-out! That, Like, Totally Ruins My Childhood. I'm Not Buying That Shit. It's Just, Well, Way Too Different. I Hate You Nintendo. I Hate You!

YES IT DOES! I'M THAT UPSET THAT MIKE TYSON ISN'T IN THIS VERSION. I WON'T BUT IT AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU. THAT'LL TEACH MIMAMOTO A LESSON!

(plus I did it in all caps and apparently the forum changes that to just capitalizing the first letter!)

Hey, look what I found on the Wikipedia:

Though the Virtual Console titles only cover the games that have been released in North America, in a recent interview George Harrison has commented that there is a possibility that in the future, Nintendo will localize Japanese games that have never been released in English.[31]. The first game to get this treatment will be Battle Lode Runner for the TG16, which had never been released in North America.

Pretty cool, I guess Battle Lode Runner is the first game to be on the VC that's never been in the US.
