I'm going to apply for a new job today, at a company I'd actually like to work for, and you guys know (it's a video game company).

Mainly reporting (and writing reports) to devs about technical issues of both in-development and games already released, and testing patches/builds.

Essentially, QA, but it's full-time instead of the PT crap most testers do.

noice?
Lucky bastard.
I couldn't hack the interview process. I'm not dumb... but I just can't function in their interview environment. :\
Are you gonna apply at Harmonix Wow?

That is the only Game developer I can think of it in that area.

There's also 2K Boston (Bioshock), but they're not hiring anything but tech positions.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot about them as well.

Still that is pretty .

Man, get them to stick something OTT-ish in the next game they make as a cheat code!

That new Dead Space video is off the chain!

JFD, DID YOU FIX YOUR XBOX 360?! :whistle2:|

Ugh. Wow. You just reminded me that I have to get back on the horse with and find another set of clients.

Moving from Michigan to NC was great for my girl but I hate having to do this all over again.

Maybe this time I will just go for full time stuff.
...and make the cheat code "Lordwowisonmeth"
that'll make all the soccer moms want to lynch rockband because it promotes the rockstar lifestyle, especially with god like cheat codes saying "wow[is]meth"...

I thought you were gonna take down stone, DB. What happened?

And I can't believe the guy with the 2nd lowest point total lucked out and was against the team with the lowest point total. Lame.

Wow, I have done nothing but free lance since I started my career.

How would you suggest going about looking for a full time job? What websites or people or whatever do you go to?

I am completely dry here.

Man, I don't even know. The last FT video job I had was a company I met at my university, kept in touch with, and proposed a position to them. Everything else I've done has been on-and-off freelance while working another job or two. I was surprised you freelance full-time. I don't have enough contacts to keep that up as a full-time job.

Meh. I made enough as anyone but I should have made more. Basically I was walking 2 for 1 deal. Since I know camera, lighting, sound, staging, hell I can even MC a party.

I would make all these deals in which for example I would stage a event and then come back and shoot it for them.

So you can tell people really really liked me. I was planning on only doing that for a year so that my name was out there and then telling people I no longer did that but then my girl got a job and we had to move to NC.

I dont see myself doing that again.

Damn it....I really really hate looking for a job especially in television.
83, is the deskstar/travelstar no longer the deathstar? i thought they'd drop the name after the problems with those 2.5" drives in the early 2000s.
Really? I never heard that...I've always built machine's using the IBM/Hitachi Deskstar. Never had an issue...touch wood.

Ya, I used to do some MCing. I got to MC at the Colonial Theater in Boston

That was awesome. And it was the first time I MCed where the crowd was Trashed. They were dying laughing at everything.

Why dont game companies hire COBOL programmers...Although Bethesda was looking for a UNIX programmer a few years ago...They still have my resume.
Wubb, please ban Frosty. This morning he has triple and quadruple posted!

#83 - TFU tonight :whee:
Just got back from picking it up at TRU...Unfortunately, Number84 has teh foosball practice tonight.

IBM Deskstar 75GXP (2000)
Fast, big, and highly unreliable, this 75GB hard drive was quickly dubbed the "Deathstar" for its habit of suddenly failing and taking all of your data with it.

About a year after IBM released the Deskstar, users filed a class action suit, alleging that IBM had misled customers about its reliability. IBM denied all liability, but last June it agreed to pay $100 to Deskstar owners whose drives and data had departed their desks and gone on to a celestial reward. Well before that, IBM had washed its hands of the Deathstar, selling its hard drive division to Hitachi in 2002.
