Speaking of Goth, I mentioned this to GothicWalrus in a PM earlier, but I found out that I probably will need a CPAP machine for my apnea.

But that's not the bad news. My tonsils: they gotta come out. I have always had large tonsils (and used to get sick as a kid all the time because of it), but my peditrician refused to remove them.

So, now, at 33 years of age, I get to go under the knife. And I have heard that is sucks REALY bad to have them removed as an adult. :bomb:

it does, sorry  at least you'll be "allowed" to eat nothing but milk shakes, ice pops and other fun things like pudding and jello for a week.

If you're not looking forward to it, I feel bad for you... but I'm still envious. My fucking tonsils have become my weakspot and do nothing but annoy me... if I could elect for them to go myself, they'd be gone yesterday.

At least you can play the sympathies card and get lots of ice creams.

Gotta love it when you start off pretty happy in the morning. Hell I was even working on my day off, but I felt it was going to be a good day. Then slowly as the day goes on your co-workers are fucking ass hats all day and by the end of the day you are in a shitty mood.

It's been one of those days.

Hey, can anyone reccomend a good board game that's similar to Risk or any other really awesome Strategy board games that can be for 3+ people.

Yay for being lactose intolerant.

Pixie just looked at my tonsils for the first time. "How can you breathe? How can you eat through such a tiny hole. Your uvula touches your tonsils!" She was shocked, to say the least.

She is now afraid to kiss me because her tongue is a choking hazzard so she won't kiss me anymore. I hope she was just kidding on that - I am rather fond of kissing her...

The tongue is necessary for kissing?

If it is, this could be part of the reason why I'm single. :whistle2:k

I was in good mood about it. Hell I was making $21 an hour today. So I was happy. I was really just the last 2 hours when the boss leaves and it is just me in charge and 5 others. And 4 of the 5 where being bitches so it just pissed me off.
monopoly. ;)

We play mega monopoly every day now lol. Risk every now and again because it's pain-stakingly long.

Stratego is only good for two people that's the problem w/ it.

Heroscape has potential but it's so damn expensive to get a good game going, same with the WoW boardgame.
Hey Plume, I've been out of the OTT loop today... did your medical thing go okay?
Today was just the evaluation. They did all the checking and such, gave me a nasal spray and set up a date (7/7/07) for my overnight study.

But as I said a page or so ago - it does look like I will need a CPAP mahcine and I will definitely need to get my tonsils out. So I was doing research and the differences between a kid versus an adult having a tonsillectomy. I like the kid's version better.

I mean, this page even makes it seem kinda fun: http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/feel_better/things/tonsils_out.html

Yeah, definitely lose the tonsils. And while the kids' version may appear to be more fun, you're older now and will have more appreciation for any hot nurses who may be roaming around your floor.

Those are the reasons I liked the kid's version better. I can't wait for:
"Within 2 weeks, you should feel much better. You'll be ready to go back to school and play with your friends again. You can tell them all about your tonsillectomy!"

Much better than the dryness I have seen elsewhere:
"Post-operative hemorrhage (bleeding) is more common in adults than children."

And
"All of these risks apply to your daughter. The fact that she is an adult means that she can count on having much more post-op pain than would a child (this is true of nearly every adult on whom I have done a tonsillectomy). Sometimes, people are still taking a soft or liquid diet 4 weeks after surgery! Quite a difference relative to kids, who will often be back on a regular diet within one week."

...I think I'm happier with the sunnier research that ends with me playing with my friends...

honestly, from what i've seen, i think it sucks for kids damn near as much as it does for adults but most adults (read DOCTORS) don't take children's pain as seriously as adults, and adults (read PARENTS) tend to start feeding their children "normal" foods in about a week after the surgery as recommended by the doctors (read ASSHOLES). children also aren't as good with expressing discomfort. the younger they are, the harder time they have with knowing the different words to describe discomfort vs. actual pain.
