I have a Westell 327W that came free with Verizon DSL. It's wireless and reeks of awsomeness. But I don't know if they sell it instore. If you got your Linksys from a ISP, call them and see if they'll replace it.

Bestbuy.com is having 10% off all Netgear accessories. Try there too.

I had the equivalent of the BEFSR41 with wireless B. That served me well, from May of 2003 til November-ish of 2006. When it died, I replaced it with the linksys WRT54GL (wireless G version of your router). It's been pretty good so far.

Yes, very interesting.

Kind of creepy/crappy to think that these researchers are checking on a group of absolutely dirt poor prostitutes every month for the past six years while not actually helping their situation at all (otherwise they wouldn't be turning multiple tricks per day...) But I guess helping them would kill the entire purpose of the study.

I actually played Monopoly for the first time in years last week. It always just turns into who is lucky enough to get a set (or can dupe the dumbest player into trading you a set) but the luck is then drawn out over hours as the inevitable winner chips away enough to build up the houses needed to bankrupt the rest. If more than one player gets a set then it just devolves into a crapshoot of which one gets the other one.

I was playing 1 on 1 and we ended up just calling each game after the winner was clear.
 
You should try Settlers of Catan. It's like Monopoly but faster, and instead of moving around the board, you just sort of claim properties to begin with.

My gf likes to play Monopoly, but (as you said) the games take forever. She's really into Catan, which is good. That means she has a good dosage of nerd inside her (especially on certain nights, ho ho ho!) that she can appreciate it. She too believes it is comparable to Monopoly, hence her adoration of it.

Great game. If I ever get a 360 that will probably be the first thing I'll get off the marketplace.

I was playing Monopoly with my S.O. and she had never played with making deals and trading allowed. She had never heard of doing that in Monopoly in fact. Kind of weird as that's part of the core rules and I thought everyone loved that crap when playing Monopoly. As a kid you puppy dog eyes at grandma and *boom* Boardwalk for Connecticut Avenue and a Get Out of Jail free card.

She also got upset when I would buy any property in a set that she already had a property in. Apparently I was being too cut throat and not playing to have fun. Now I would have just not done it, but it was one of those where she didn't bring it up until after the game was done. (Women... :mrgreen: )

Sounds like that could be worth a shot. I'll have to pull it off the shelf and read up on the rules/ make sure I have all the pieces. The nerd in me will have fun with that for a good hour+ so even if they don't want to play, not a total loss.

I didn't know you cold trade/sell/mortgage property until I played a PC version of the game when I was like 13.

I really want to pick up a Monopoly board, but the game is damn expensive (ok, well like $20, but still). My girlfriend likes to play Carcassonne. Hopefully she'll like the Live version as well, because we hardly have the patience to sit and play the board game. Plus, she complains when I win as well.

I would say check thrifts and yard sales, but going to those places looking for something specific is generally a big waste of time.

Speaking of yard sales, I think I did good last week. I got myself an eight-person set of Mikasa plates (three sizes of plates, bowls, and cups) for a whopping dollar. Apparently, Mikasa is one of the more expensive brands, but I don't care - I've got plates now, so I can eat next year. I love going to garage sales in rich neighborhoods. :D

Oh trust me, I know. I give up most of my weeknights and usually about half my weekends to RA stuff. I'm going into my 4th year doing it... there are 170 RAs on my campus, and I'm one of 4 to last this long.

In fact, turnover is so high, there are only 3 out of 28 professional (full-time) staff that were here when I started.

Speaking of remakes, My Sassy Girl is being remade with American actors.

Do yourself a favor and find the Korean movie and watch it first. Here's a hint - it is the perfect date movie. Perfect date movie.

I imagine the remake will be a tragedy amounting to drop kicking puppies in to Pup-o-Shredder-Matics.
