The history channel has been amazing for the past two hours. No visual presentation has ever brought tears to my eyes the way these episodes expound on the Universe's fluctuating transformations.

Looks like I should kept watching. =/

But it's amazing, isn't it? I love the idea that we were all nothing more than parts of a star at one point. :)

Haha, this new season has been amazing so far (with the exception of the Usher episode, but at least we got to see A Pimp Named Slickback again in that one).

Stinkmeaner (or however you spell his name) episode is still the best so far, IMO.

Big Bang episode is on NOW... I stopped watching it because it is just too much to grasp at the moment; especially after being hit over the head with a "how the earth was made" episode.

The universe having a starting point is astonishing.

It is theorized that once everything in the universe, as it moves away from the starting point, reaches the outer-limits of the universe, within itself, it will rubberband back towards the center starting point, which would in-turn recreate the big bang, and thus recreating the exact same universe.

Just imagine, if that were true, we've all lives out our lives an infinite amount of times, which is minuscule in comparison to the scale of the entire universe, and time, itself.
 
Even if the universe is cyclic, Brak, it doesn't mean that every iteration is the same. There is a great deal of chance involved with processes at the quantum level, so things will never be the same.

Haha. Glad you enjoyed it, at least. The physics snob in me hates how simplistic they make some of the concepts and how they present it, but it makes it accessible to the non-huge-physics-nerd mainstream, which is a good thing.
The programs aren't bad by any means though, it's just that certain portions annoy the hell outta me, like how they get actors for the old and dead scientists and when they did the whole "Einstein Land" segment to explain some of the basic principles of Relativity...in the context of a circus...

Holy, divinity. It is genius, really. Most of the collected theories associated with the big bang have been around since aristotle's idea of a centered/sphereic universe (maybe even before), all cultivated from ideas gathered from wisdom of understanding of different people from different times. All started because man wanted to 'reach' the heavens. Sounds almost like a fairy tale... a very complex and 'astonishing' one.
