Tomb Raider Definitive Edition On Xbox One 1/28/14

So pissed about this...:bomb:
So lets take the best part of the game and not do anything with that. At least I won't be complaining they held anything back in the SP. What you got on Day 1 is what they envisioned as the story. I am not against MP for the game but if they continue with it going forward it needs a lot of work.

So Global week 1 sales have been updated. Looks like 1.1 million units sold across all 3 platforms worldwide. Not a bad start considering lifetime sales of the last Tomb Raider game (Underworld) is only 2.8 million.

After the three games of MP I finished I can't see what anyone would enjoy out of that. It's playable but brings absolutely nothing new to the table.

I think it is just that MP DLC is easier to develope than single play items.

Yeah, not everyone is Gearbox or Bioware. ;)

Not interested in multiplayer DLC for this game. :p

Single player DLC would be awesome, but on the other hand, I think of the devs devoting their time to creating a next-gen sequel instead, and... damn.

I love how in the comments someone is bitching it only has 4 game modes and 5 maps where as GOW J has less. ;0
So pissed about this...:bomb:
Yeah, I haven't done it yet but if the value holds for the week I'll likely trade my copy in on the weekend. Tuth be told there's no reason to keep it around and if I can cost SE/CD a handful of dollars by someone buying my used copy I will gladly do so. (Maybe next time they do some decent tombs.)

It dropped from $25 to $24 base at Gamestop yesterday. Without any other promotions, you can get over $30 if you put it towards another hit game out now or coming out soon (there is a list of 8 that get 30% bump.) I think it's still $36 base at Amazon.

Its 18 at Best Buy but I get bonuses and whatnot... 100% (I think everyone gets that bonus, its in the ad) and then a 10% on top of that. (paid unlock member) I think that's how it all goes... I rarely trade in games.

But I'm tempted to just go with Amazon... and skip the BS. (GS doesn't work as I don't think their are any games I'm looking forward to getting day one outside of the Last of US... but I'm going with Best Buy for it.)

Thanks for the info though. :)

Edit: Yup traded in. Got 37.80 for it. Add the 20 dollar credit and the fact I think I can get 15 more for the DLC, BB Box art, and HC comic book and I might break even/make a small profit.

I beat the game last week and had a lot of fun with it. I had planned to hang out to it, in case there was going to eventually be single player DLC...then I read that they don't plan to release any and are focusing on MP DLC only(bleh) I ended up trading it. If they end up changing their mind's, then i'll pick this up again when it's cheap.

Well pretty fun game. From what I played.Wife has taken it over now. She's way farther then I am and doesn't look like I'll be finishing it till she's done.

Decided to pick up the CE of this finally, applied my BB Gamers Club GC so came out to $70 in the end.

Update:
Ohhh man I'm loving this, TR gets a down and dirty refreshing take of being alone. I actually raided a tomb last night, who would have thought!
Nothing too exciting.
Very much so...

Where's the black dress and/or wetsuit that's nearly as famous as her...?

Likely too much work... This stinks of a quick cash in.

Beat this last month, but finally decided to drop in. A really good game with a completely tacked-on and unnecessary multiplayer mode. I really hate when games have an MP mode that feels like it a whole other (and worst) game. The graphics are muddy, and the gunplay makes you feel your character is drunk.

I think it's more that they're tying to maintain the reboot's more "serious" image...

Maybe after some more time passes they'll be willing to introduce some "just for fun" costumes. I hope so.

I just started and I also raided a tomb! It is so awesome so far. I probably won;t even try the multiplayer but the single player is ridiculous. I liked Uncharted but so far this is blowing it out of the water.

I think from aside from the collectibles developers give the game multiplayer to grow the game's life in your system. Not saying it's meant for every game but in this case for Tomb Raider I don't think the single player campaign suffered from implementing mulitplayer as well. I haven't tried any multiplayer, the singe player has my attention right now.

I've been trying to play the multiplayer the last few days and it's just so bad.

It's also really empty.  It requires 4 players for each match, and you'll be waiting in lobbies for at least 5 minutes for people to join.  It's also annoying because it's usually really high ranks against really low ranks.  You would figure that Ranked Matches would actually try to distribute teams, instead of making it a slaughter for the lower ranks.

I only have this game for a few more days, but if people want to play online to try to combat uneven teams I wouldn't mind working together.  I'm in the 30s, so I have a few good weapon loadouts, but the clunky movement and sloppy shooting make it seem like anything but the Bow or Crossbow is a valuable weapon.

You see people shooting at each other, only a few feet away from one another, and they shoot for several seconds.  So many of their shots just do not connect with the enemy, so you feel like you're watching cross-eyed warriors battle, especially with the back and forth swaying people do during the shootouts.

Bumping this with the recent announcement.  If it wasn't for Last of Us, this was my GOTY this year.  So I am definitely picking this one up day one.  Definitely looking forward to playing this again :D

this was my goty, last of us is overrated for me. i will be getting this in 2-3 years, when i get my ps4. lol

Well I guess this is Square's way to try to make up their "disappointing" sales from last time. Lol ehh Lara Croft looks pretty good with the new facial upgrade and all. It's pretty much like the unofficial GotY edition with all the stuff in it.
