Aren't they releasing "Ultra" MK3, which is essentially Ultimate MK3 anyway? Why do companies rebrand games for XBLA, when there seems to be little differing it from the decade-old property it is?
I may be wrong here, but I'm almost positive that when they showed "Ultra" MK3 at E3, it was an error. I've heard MS executives since then call it "Ultimate." I believe calling it "Ultra" was just a careless error on MS' part, but we'll see.
If they could have only picked one MK game, they should have gone all out and given us MK Trilogy
Absolutely agreed. That would kick 10 kinds of ass. What would REALLY be great is if they included MK Trilogy but put a mode in there to turn the run button and dial-a-combos off...since every character/background from MK 2 is in there (along with a few from 1, including Goro, original Raiden & original Kano), you could essentially have any MK match you want.
I'm assuming since MK Trilogy was a home console release maybe they didn't consider it, which is a shame (especially since they are obviously considering some home console tiles, ie Sonic).
but I guess that would be too big for the XBLA.
I doubt it...Ultimate MK3 can't be that much different. The only difference between UMK3 and MKT are a few characters/levels/music tracks.
