Too Human Xbox360 49.99 Toys R' Us

I am having a blast with Too Human, I paid $60 from gamestop and have no regrets, its challenging, camera is just right once you set it to your desire style. The R stick for melee feels natural after 2 hours or so after play, the advance controls makes the game that much better

I don't see what problem people have with the controls or camera with Too Human. I think it's just because I really like games that control attacks with the right thumbstick a lot. I actually played through the entire demo twice...for a total of 4 hours of demo...not bad for free...makes me wonder how long I will play the actual game.

It feels a lot like Dynasty Warriors, but much better customization, a story and plot that actually exist. Even more that have various types of enemies.

I bought 2 or 3 editions of dynasty warriors...so I don't see how I can't eventually buy it...but I am broke...and will wait till about November or December to decide which games to buy.
The $49.99 price at TRU should also be an indicator of how well they think it will sell.
Too be fair, a ton of games release at this price at certain retailers or with free gift cards, etc, and many sell pretty well.

I don't think that's any indication of how well they think the game is going to do. TRU is not competing its games against its other games (they don't care if you buy Too Human or Soul Calibur as long as you give them your money), they're competing against other retailers for the same game (Too Human at TRU vs. Too Human at Best Buy, Circuit City, etc).

In fact, it's usually games that are expected to sell well that some stores release at a few bucks less to try and entice people to buy that big seller at their store as opposed to others. I'm not saying that means they expect Too Human to sell well (I'm sure they don't), just that it's not an indication that they expect it to sell poorly, even if that is indeed what they expect.

In this case, it is a sign that retailers think it will do poorly and to prevent them from canceling large initial orders, the distributor and publisher agree to a much lower wholesale price than they would ordinarily agree to. The retailer then passes this on to the customer either as a lower retail price or by giving away a gift card. I talked to my local indy game shop today and they were selling it for $50 as well and they told me it was because they got word from the distributor last week that the wholesale price was dropping as long as they maintained their order of 10 units. I still really want this game, but I will probably wait for at least one significant price drop.

I think you make a very valid point here. TRU, as a company, isn't competing internally with itself on what games they sell, that wasn't what I was trying to say. From my perspective, and this is not completely confirmed mind you, the store I went to only received one copy of the game. They may or may not get more shipments, but when I see stores ordering low amounts of one particular product and then selling it cheaper, it makes me think that the game may not be that great. That's certainly not always the case, but in my experience the majority of low quality games have been cheaper than the competition.

However, TRU is also competing with other gaming businesses, especially around my TRU where there is a Best Buy next door, a Target across the street, and 2 GameStops all within about a 2 mile radius. Of course all of them will be competing for the customer's business, as well they should, but this kind of competitiveness hasn't been seen in the gaming industry for quite some time. When games are released they usually have a fixed price point of $59.99. Hardware is no different. I always thought to myself, "I wonder if I could open an independant game store and sell the games for $5-$10 cheaper and get more business than the big guys?" I guess what I'm trying to say is that there may be a change in the gaming industry, a revolution if you will, of competitive pricing and other enticements. For instance, I bought Madden 09 at TRU just because of the free figure and gift card. I was actually planning on buying it at Target but TRU won me over. Just about every "big" release game has some sort of promotion that follows it these days, which is simply fantastic for gamers. For once we as consumers are having a choice about where to buy our games, unlike in years' past where it didn't matter where you bought it because it was the same game, at the same price, with the same non-promotion.

WHat I am truly hoping for is that this revolution continues and we reap the benefits of great games and great promotions. :bouncy::applause::D
with the 20% off coupon, think I am better off asking them if they still have any, or just printing one out and trying to see if they will take it?
Allow me to share my experience from asking if they still had any. The woman at the customer service desk said "No, we threw them all out a few days before they expired." I was dumbfounded by this. My response was a straight faced, "Makes sense. Thank you."

Sometimes thats all u can say to people. Otherwise their heads might explode.

Looks like the price has gone up to $60 on TRU.com. At least, the only one that's in stock is at the higher price. The $50 listing is backordered.

I picked it up today for $39.99 + tax.

Nice lady at register just scanned coupon even though it was printed.

Good game for $40 I think.
Does anyone know if we can use the 20% off coupon with the B1G1 Half off deal?
I believe you can. The guy at the register gave me 2 of those coupons and I used them both. I picked up SCIV and Mass Effect. I also used the other on a Wii Fit, making it $77.03 tax incl., for the Wii Fit that is.
