First of all, what exactly is the point of this? Secondly, how in the fucking hell can you put the Incredibles in front of Citizen Kane, and that high altogether? You don't deserve to watch movies if you believe that.

I never thought LotR was that great of a movie. Hell, I might have even started to like it less because of the hype it received.

On a side-note, Grand Forks? I'm only 30 minutes away. Small world. c_c

Rating well on IMDB does not a good movie make. I like the antics of Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Cartman like any other degenerate but that doesn't mean they rate a quality movie especially a movie that involves a song about fucking your uncle. A good movie is definited by its ability to tell a good story not how many ticket sales or dvds it sells.

You can't compare ratings and box office. People went to Titanic because it had Leo. People rated South Park decently because they thought it was good. Top movies are a matter of taste. For instance, I think The Matrix is one of the worst movie series I've ever seen, and would pay to never have to experience such horror ever again.

I have a top about 186 with Aliens and LotR on it.

Also, I've never SEEN Seven Samurai. I cannot add a movie I haven't seen.

Edit: Don't respond with 'u havent seen it?! zomg u hav pore taste1'. I live on a tight budget, and I can't just rent all of the considered-best movies out there.

But aliens is far superior to the original

There is a lot of debate on which is the best. Aliens and Alien are different movies (and I mean more than the fact that they're not the same movie c_c;); one is more suspense-ful, while the other has more action.
To this day, I still don't understand why do people like Spirited Away so much. :?:
Because it's pretty good?

Grave Of The Fireflies
Metropolis
and my personal favorite...
Cowboy Bebop:Knockin On Heaven's Door

That is good anime
I tried to rent Grave of the Fireflies, but they did not have it.

Also, Cowboy Bebop: KoHD isn't as good as the series.
Agreed...but as far as movies are concerned...id watch that, Matrix, Legend Of The Drunken Master, and Led Zeppelin, 24/7/365/75
Also, I'm just wondering if my list is 'bunked' because it has the kind of movies that aren't generally considered the greats.
I didn't say it was "bunked," I said it was "bunk," which means I have debunked it by declaring it bunk. You dig?

There are differing tastes in movies, anime or not, though nobody ever acknowledges those anway.

Grave is a great movie, while I haven't seen enough of Metropolis to make a decision on it yet. I haven't gotten around to seeing the CB movie yet, so I can't comment on that.

I'd add to my fav. list Princess Monoke and Spirited Away as they were both very well done and enjoyable.

Personally, I think Metropolis is a tad overrated. My personal favorite anime film is Millenium Actress.

This post is bunk.

Then why are you wasting your time watching crap? You could rent Seven Samurai, but you spent that money watching Happy fucking Gilmore. You've got poor taste, kid, and your list is, in fact, BUNK.

Who said anything about renting? Watch it when it comes out on cable. If you don't have cable, go to an art film house. They show that stuff on the cheap or free. I was able to swing a Kung Fu Hustle screening when it was making the indie rounds for free plus I saw it about a year before its US debut.

You guys are so dumb. Its his personal favorite movies. and he was asking for you guys to list your favs as well. I'm sure if you listed your top 100 you'd have a lot of crappy movies as well.

*gasp* My opinion's been flamed! Holy shit! I'm very depressed now.

Honestly, do you think that you come off as a movie buff by saying "What, you like something that isn't generally considered a masterpiece? BUNK! BUNK I SAY!" and then calling me kid every couple of lines? What would you expect in a good list, doing a copy/paste job of IMDB's top ten? God forbid I have an opinion, ya? And Happy Gilmore's been out for, what, a decade? Excuse me for seeing it within that decade. If I were to throw in the LotR Trilogy, the Matrix Trilogy, Seven Samurai, and a bunch of oldies but greaties, you would have your dick in its ass in seconds? I wouldn't consider you a movie buff, because a movie buff is someone who knows his movies, not one that runs around, dicking around, showing off on what a big movie buff he is. What's your top ten? I'd like to see it, so I can randomly blurt out long words and call it bunk because it doesn't adhere to my opinion.

Edit: #1. I know, but it's not easy to see old movies. The movie channels I got are Starz, Showtime and Turner Classic Movies. I know it may be on TCM one of these days, but TCM doesn't re-air movies often.

#2. Thanks. At least someone understands what an opinion is. :3

Well, he did say "Top Movies," not "Favorite Movies."

I assumed people would interpret Top Movies as MY Top Movies. But there are only two moves that I enjoy watching multiple times - One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and 12 Angry Men.

Well, guy, by posting your list of favorite movies in a public forum, you are declaring that your opinion is interesting and important and that people should pay attention to it. It's not and we shouldn't, but you've also opened yourself up to criticism in doing so and it's kind of sad that you're throwing a hissy fit just because people are disagreeing with your choices. I personally don't give a flying fuck what your favorite 500 or whatever fucking movies of all time are, I was just razzing you for entertainment value, and you've sure made it worthwhile.

Oh, and if you think "bunk" is a "long word," I've got a whole bunch that are five letters long that would absolutely blow your mind.

You know what happens when you assume. You make an ass out of yourself, and the Off-Topic board rapes you. When you post your opinion on a place like this, especially an opinion so widely open for dispute, you're asking for a hassle. That's why jerks like us are here.

Edit: In response to MrEgg... PWN3D!!1!!1!!

#1. I actually made this topic for people to show their top films list. Take your own advice. :)

#2. Satan guy, I was hardly talking to you. I find that people use long words to make their cases look better. You SHOULD realize that you weren't the only one to use bunk.

That's MR. Satan Guy to you, young man. And also, I'm confused... you say you were "hardly talking" to me, and then you say that I wasn't the only one to use the word "bunk," which would indicate that it was in fact the word that you were referencing in your earlier post, which only reinforces my point, ergo-vis-a-vis, that you are fun to point and laugh at.

Um, and you also might notice I said that I could blurt out random, long words AND call it (the list) bunk. So, I can't really be calling it a long word unless I said, say, "Oh, along with bunk."

If it weren't for that horse, I would have never made it through my freshman year of college.

Yes it is.

I frequently trade my CDs and Games there.
FYE? I don't know the abbreviation. c_c I haven't had the advantage of going to the Columbia Mall in a while, let alone Grand Forks.
The advantage of going to the Columbia Mall? Ykes. Where exactly are you at?
