Immense gratitude to Shrike4242 for updating this thing while I was away!!!

This is an odd one.....

Basically the gist is that Toys R Us is reducing its inventory by 20% by marking down over 6,000 skns from it's inventory, most of which are toys. There are however roughly 300 or so video games/accesories that will be a part of this clearance. As of 7/11 all have been marked down from 30-50%. TRU is seeking to aggressively move these skns out of its stores. So if these games have not sold in roughly a months time they will be marked down again...a month later, again.....and so on until it's gone. So if you're the gamblin' type I suppose you could hold out for cheaper prices. Prices seem to be good everywhere, though there may be some variance in prices between stores.

Everything that is a part of this sale is on a 3 week cycle, meaning that every three weeks any items remaining in the stores will receive another price drop. Seeing as how these prices went into effect on the 11th of July we should be seeing them all drop again on the 1st of August.

The only caveat here being that retail is an odd beast that can be subject to change. So basically there is another price drop coming that in all likelihood will happen on the 1st so check back on the than to see what's up.

IRVING, TX Toys R Us still has stuff. I found a few Xbox live 12-month starter kits with Crimson Skies for $29.99. There are more as of yesterday. I wasn't greedy. They also had a lot of the 3month cards. Both for the original Xbox, not 360. Had lots of DDR mats and some clearance games, too.

If you pick up any of the 3 month cards, make sure to check the expiration date on the top before purchase, as well as if it says "Xbox 360 compatible" on the front of the package.
 
Not true. Hayward TRU just has junk on sale: some hot shots golf and starwars wireless controller for ps2 for $9.99 and etc. No logitech driving force pro for 49.98. They only carry the regular blue logitech driving force which is not a good deal at all!
 
Well, that employee I talked about was right. I don't know if other areas have this (besides those ones that the other poster mentioned), but my area (Harrisburg, PA) did have 20% off this Friday and Saturday. There's this Super Sale for Friday and Saturday signs everywhere (for both the Harrisburg and Camp Hill stores, York and Lancaster also confirmed), and everything with a red tag was 20 percent off.


I bought a bunch of stuff yesterday, brought my receipts in today, and got it price adjusted. :)

I went to TRU today to pick up Trauma Center for me and for a friend and one to pimp in trades. Also picked up a couple of meteos that were there along with a castlevania double pack.

This TRU is one of the older ones where you scan the ticket to pay then take the ticket to the "cage" of games. When they loaded my bag, instead of 3 trauma centers, there were 4. Yay for me.

That happened to me at Kmart the other day. I pricechecked a bunch of games to see if there were any new drops. The employee then put every single game i checked in my bag, even a few i didnt pay for.
Except in my case, i pointed it out because i don't steal. Plus kmarts randomly check your bags at the door and your receipt.

Didnt realize it was considered stealing if you dont notice it till you get home. I learn something new every day here.

OY, people are so UPTIGHT!!!! To me, if I see them making a mistake and they don't catch it, I'll tell them about it. However, if I don't see the mistake AND they don't, then its a bonus for me.

Also, in an unrelated note: If anyone wants the PS2 HDD with FFXI on it, there's ONE(that I saw) on the counter at the TRU in Dickson City, PA. It was clearanced to $39.99 when I had it pc'd.

LOL, quite a convenient way to look at things. Let's say if TRU overcharged you on something and you missed it somehow, but you found out once you got home. You're saying that you would do nothing about it, since as you put it, "I don't see the mistake AND they don't" then it should be a bonus for TRU, right?

Dang, wish I had known that earlier today. Saw a copy at the Topeka, KS Toys R Us but decided against picking it up. Unfortunately, it'd cost a bit in gas to head back there and $19 first class is pretty much at cost for a $15 game.

Honestly, I barely saw anything on sale. There was a bin of stuff that was super picked through, and like one PS2 game marked down like $5. I guess the bay area isn't getting too much of a sale in general, oh well :(

yeah i know, even the TRU Capitol Ave, San Jose has stuff they just really wanna get rid off. i guess that goes for other bay area TRUs.

Any details yet? Will it only be further drops of titles on the list, or new titles added?
 
Picked up Lifeline for PS2 for 4.98, Antigrav with Eyetoy Camera for 9.97 and Fire Emblem: SS for 14.97 (since Google Checkout probably never will sort through my order)
 
I still have a couple of 12-Month Xbox Live Cards left that I had picked up for other CAGs. Most of the people I PMed about the cards backed out or got them from elsewhere, so PM me if you still need one. $25 cash or money order or $26 PayPal (to cover PP fees). That will let me break even considering gas here is going for $3.40 a gallon.

I'm also looking for Zatchbell: Mamodo Battles (PS2 or GC) and King of Fighters EX2 (GBA) if anyone has extras for sale or trade.
 
I remember back when TRU had that 'cage' of games too. I preordered OoT, but not fast enough because I could only get it in the regular grey. Lets just say that mine isn't grey. ;)

Uh, just got back from the Dublin TRU and they still had Suikoden Tactics, Taiko Drum Master, Fire Emble GBA, and those Intec Gamecube monitors.
 
my TRUs around here suck. I went in looking for Bust-a-move DS and it was 20.00 with no discount. plus I wanted to get Puyo PopDS with 0 luck. if anyone could find either of these for me I'll gladly paypal some money for them.

This is slightly OT, but I didn't want to start a new thread just to ask this. Has TRU still been running the buy-2-get-1 sales? I know they used to do them twice a year, but I don't remember if they ran one this spring or not.

They only do them once a year, usually in late Sept/Oct.
 
Any chance someone is able to find the dvd remote for the xbox for $4.98 or less? My TRU hasn't listed any fo the games for sale yet (Jensen Beach, FL)...makes me wonder if it is a region thing...or maybe just a lazy store...ha.

Let me know if anyone can pck up the remote and I'll gladly pay plus expenses...thanks.

The games are on sale. Whether or not your store physically marks them down is a different story, but if the games are on this list, they WILL ring up at the clearance prices in the computer.

I thought that might be the case but for example - using their price checking machines - the dvd remote still rings up at $23.99...do I need to take it to the register? Would it have a different price?

The DVD remote appears to be YMMV, its been on clearance since before this current sale. I don't know if the price scanners correspond with the checkout, as my TRU doesn't have them (at least not in the R-Zone).

Anyway, got a new title for the list :

And I assume we're not getting any further reductions tomorrow then, since none of our CAG TRU employees have said anything...?

If any CAGs happen to see the xbox DVD remote for under $10 I would be grateful if they could let me know and possibly pick one up for me. It seems the stores around vary alot but they are still pretty expensive. $18, $20, $22, and $29 for the remotes respectively.

If the -20% off clearance deal rolls around in Cincinnati here, they'll be alittle cheaper but I'm not holding my breath.


BTW, I did pickup an Antigrav /w eyetoy for $9.98 at one TRU and that thing is a very decent 640x480: 30fps webcam for PC! I know its been mentioned before but the PS2 camera is just a re-inclosed D-link webcamera that retails for $35-40 plus shipping.

Great deal for under $10
 
For anyone who cant find this stuff in stores

There was a really cool girl working in games in toysrus, she printed me up the price tags for taiko drum master, i brought them to CC (had upc on it) and i got two for 19.99. then i printed the receipt that someone posted on this thread earlier, brought to Compusa, pricematched the xbox live 12 month card.

and at bestbuy i got traumacenter for 19.99 with the $10 off card, and sonic rush for 15 with ggc..off this topic but woo
 
Yeah, got anyone here (east coast would be preferable I guess) who wants to take the early trek and inform us of any new drops? Cause if there is another round, it'll be the one that brings a lot of titles into real bargain range.
