Immense gratitude to Shrike4242 for updating this thing while I was away!!!

This is an odd one.....

Basically the gist is that Toys R Us is reducing its inventory by 20% by marking down over 6,000 skns from it's inventory, most of which are toys. There are however roughly 300 or so video games/accesories that will be a part of this clearance. As of 7/11 all have been marked down from 30-50%. TRU is seeking to aggressively move these skns out of its stores. So if these games have not sold in roughly a months time they will be marked down again...a month later, again.....and so on until it's gone. So if you're the gamblin' type I suppose you could hold out for cheaper prices. Prices seem to be good everywhere, though there may be some variance in prices between stores.

Everything that is a part of this sale is on a 3 week cycle, meaning that every three weeks any items remaining in the stores will receive another price drop. Seeing as how these prices went into effect on the 11th of July we should be seeing them all drop again on the 1st of August.

The only caveat here being that retail is an odd beast that can be subject to change. So basically there is another price drop coming that in all likelihood will happen on the 1st so check back on the than to see what's up.

My TRU was very picked over. I only came away with:

Fire Emblem GBA
Castlevania Double Pack GBA

However, these were two of my biggest wants, so I'm not too upset.

When I got to the store, I noticed that all of the clearanced items were tagged as such. To me, that is a sure sign that I got in on this deal far too late. Once the general public knows about a sale, I'm screwed.

Anyway, my store had tons of Fire Emblem left, so if anyone wants a copy, PM me and I'll try to go snag you a copy!

They tagged them right away. TRU seems very good about their shelf pricing. There was no significant period where the prices were lowered but unmarked.

I work at a TRU, so as long as any of you have $$(I'd prefer paypal, money order as a second option), I can get the games for you at no extra charge besides shipping. Luckly I can hold games for up to a week. As far as what some of you are looking for, I know I have 1 Tokobot left, no MGA, and I am checking on Suikoden Tactics in an hour.

The U.S. version does not have Starforce... only the European version.

not sure if this has been posted but I saw DW 5 for xbox 19.99 there was no need for me to get this since I already have it on PS2...

I would but the Xbox version in all the BB's around here (IL) are out of stock. I'd get the PS2 version, but I try to keep all cross-platform titles on my Xbox.

I'm not in a rush to get it so I'm hoping I can pick up the Xbox version when it drops at TRU -- which all seem to have hordes of them.

My TRU had Viewtiful Joe: Double Trouble for the DS for $14.98. I managed to grab the last one, though.

Also, some of the clearance games were marked, but some were not - I noticed that neither Killer 7 or Baten Kaitos w/CD had the clearance price listed, but they rang up properly.
 
Is Viewtiful Joe: Double Trouble good? With VJ2 and the abysmal VJ:RHR, I'm convinced that Capcom had no idea what made VJ1 so awesome.

i just bought viewtiful Joe 2 last week. Though i beat it in like 3 hours on KIDS mode, i thought the game was fantastic!

ive never played the first one, so i wouldnt be able to compare the two for ya
 
Oh, Viewtiful Joe 2 is quite good. Kids mode is like riding a bike with the training wheels on. The whole point of VJ is DMC-style high difficulty, but wherein every move can be foreseen and dodged without prescience, and the entire game be played without taking a hit. Very balanced in that regard. VJ2 had some silly issues with the laser shield guys and some of the late game enemies. The final boss was cheap as hell too.

DW5 XL? I might just be in for that.

The Harrisburg, PA store had several copies as of around 5 p.m. yesterday. I will probably be driving through there tommorrow evening sometime.
