Toys R Us sold me a refurbished Xbox 360 Console

I bought a brand new Xbox 360 Arcade a few weeks ago at a local Toys R Us and I realized that the console I bought must have been a refurb. The power brick didn't even fit the jack in the back of the console. Plus I noticed the box had 2 factory seals on them (upon closer inspection you could see that the first seal was already broken and a second seal was placed over it). I complained to the manager and got my refund back since the policy isn't to accept open video game purchases. The guy was surprised that Microsoft would ship him refurbished units. So I went to Target and got a new Arcade there instead. Unbelievable about Toys R Us. Pay attention to the factory seals. Beware.

The double factory seals isn't uncommon. The reason being when they add a game to the bundle Microsoft opens the seal, pops the game in, and then put a new sticker over the old one. A sticker then goes on the front to indicate the new game pack-ins. Its a lot cheaper and faster than producing new boxes, de-boxing the old units, and repackaging them.

I could believe that. But the Spring bundle does have the pictures of the games printed on the outside however. So if that was the case, that would mean the factory forgot to put the games inside the box and had to reopen it up. The unsettling thing was the power brick wasn't even compatible.

Least likely culprit = MS
Most likely culprit = One of the many hands the system goes through in the entire distribution process

Seems like a classic swap of an old system by an employee, which explains the power brick.

That sounds about the same as what a person at best buy told me. We bought a 360 elite from there when they had the $50 GC deal, and the first one had forza/halo that was insanely obviously resealed. We swapped it for a plain 360 elite that had the games added in after, and that one had the factory seal. The 360 in the first box also had a bunch of scratches on the USB door flap, so I wouldn't doubt they reseal the boxes and resell them.
