Welcome to the Toys R Us clearance thread! Like all stores, Toys R Us also has clearance games-- and they often drop numberous times, such as going down to 19.98, 9.98, 5.00, and even as low as 3.00. There doesn't appear to be a set rhythm to when these drops occur, or how many of them will occur. Also, be aware that the games may not have their prices correctly marked-- generally, all TRUs will have the same pricing (there will always be exceptions) so do not let the price tag dissaude you from at least checking to see if it's at the price that it's been reported here.

Games, when possible, will have their SKU number posted. Please post any SKU numbers you have that aren't already in the list!

Also, some stores will be able to give you a price adjustment if your clearance game(s) drop-- if not, you can always try to return and rebuy the game(s).

Here are the latest drops-- special thanks to Prim4444! http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showpost.php?p=7341511&postcount=245

Call of Duty: World at War for the Xbox 360 is $19.99 online and at the store. Not really clearance priced, but it's still $10 than the new MSRP.

If anyone is looking to pick up some HDMI cables cheap, I picked up the following marked on clearance yesterday at my TRU:

Monster Game Standard 6Ft HDMI Cable (Model # GLX360 S HDMI-6)retailing for $17.98. For this cable it came out to be $9.30 after 25% off and an additional 15% off. Part of the $5.00 coupon was used for this.

Monster Ultra 800 8Ft HDMI cable retailing for $19.98, came out to be $12.14 after 25% off and the other half of the $5.00 coupon was used.

I realize Monster has a lot of controversy surrounding them, but I'm saving up for a plasma screen, so buying these cables cheap came as a great help in preparation for the purchase.

By the way, while going through my cell phone pics of some past deals at TRU I did find a Monster PS3 10ft. Component Video & Fiber Optic Audio cable clearancing out for $10.98 back in July. I doubt it's still there though.

Check all around the electronics section in your TRU for these cables, they are really placed in some odd places.

I don't know if you're new to HDMI cables or what, but that's still expensive. You can get HDMI cables for literally a buck or two online.

I am new, and after talking with a friend it seemed like $10 was the norm for cheap cables. In purchasing these clearanced $10 Monster cables, I was taking length and durability into consideration.

www.monoprice.com - you should never buy cables in a retail store ever again.

Yeah a few bucks at most, but you're being too hard on Kyoya when there is a chunk of the population actually paying 50 dollars or more for these things.

Honestly, it's totally fine - thanks for the tips and link to Monoprice - I've got a lot of researching to do - especially now since I've learned about Category 1 and Category 2 cables on Wiki. I may be taking these unopened items I mentioned previously back to TRU.

Getting back on track I really hope TRU releases another 40% off accessories coupon - the one they had back in late July was great.

I visited the gainesville fl location today.
They had an extra 25% off all clearance ending in 8 or 0
All the following are before extra discount.

Picked up Racquet Sports with Camera for the Wii- $9.98
I saw Dissidia Psp for 16.98.
I saw Bakugan Wii for 16.98 and 9.98, they all ring up 9.98 though.
Legends of Wrestling 360 for $16.98
There were quite a few games for all systems around the 24.98-34.98 price points, but they didn't seem to be great deals, IMO.

Do clearance games ever drop in price? Dead Space Wii has been $24.98 for as long as I have seen in in store. May just finally buy it if there is a current extra % off again.
Just checked my email and TRU is running an extra 30% off PS2, PS3, PSP and Xbox 360 games this upcoming Tuesday an Wednesday.
Not a huge deal considering clearance stuff including all clearance games has already been 25% off for the past week and will continue to be so through October 14th. Unfortunately, the 25% and the 30% won't stack, the 30% just overrides the 25%.

There's been a dry spell for a bit and then some activity recently, a couple of drops in the last few months with several new items being added to clearance. I figure there will be more as they clear some room for the holiday games which are fast approaching and arriving weekly. Drops usually occur on a Monday, can't remember if it can be any Monday or if it's usually a certain Monday like the first of the month. primm4444 would know.

It just overrides it? Drats! Though who knows, with TRU anything is possible and their computers may stack them like they did with the Wii games, lol!
Can anyone confirm if 30% & 25% stacks. It probably won't as indicated above, but did someone try it?
I tried it last week when the two day sale at 30% was on (can't recall which system it was, but whatever it was, I scanned the game and only the 30% popped up) and it did not stack. I doubt this will stack either since TRU has made it impossible for the same type of discount to apply twice to an item unless there is some very odd glitch like the double 30% on Red Steel 2 a few weeks back. Obviously, the 25% should still stack with the B2G1 on Sunday and the $10 off $50 coupon as well since those are three different types of discounts.
Thanks for the info. Where is this 10 off 50 coupon you mentioned
It was mailed to people directly attached to the new TRU monthly catalog. The coupon contains a unique code and is printed on a plastic laminated card, so it's not something which can be scanned, but it looks like lots of us received it.
Can anyone confirm if 30% & 25% stacks. It probably won't as indicated above, but did someone try it?
It does not stack.

Surprisingly enough though, the mp3 player 20% sale does stack with the clearance 25% for anyone looking to get a cheap mp3 player.
We don't even know which games has 25% off.

Thought the 25 off clearance was for the whole store and ends 10/10, correct?

Pretty sure Green Day Rockband was taken off clearance this week...

All clearance items throughout the store, including games, are currently 25% off through 10/14/10. That means it should stack with B2G1 on Sunday. As for the double stack with the now expired 30% it appears that it only worked for certain games, not everything. Kind of like how Red Steel 2 bundle was doubling the 30% a few weeks back but nothing else was.

Thanks, I'm definitely making a trip Sunday to see if I can find anything

Today via B2G1Free sale
$19.99 - 25% off = $14.99 Mass Effect 2 :360:
$18.98 - 25% off = $14.23 Riddick Assault on Dark Athena :360:
$16.98 - 25% off = $00.00 RockBand Country Track Pack :360: (want DLC code)

$29.22 + $2.56 tax = grand total $31.78

Mix and match to your pleasure, but $14.99 for ME2 if you can find one!
Good luck hunting...

Question, The 25% extra off on clearance is that shown anywhere in the store? When I went last week I asked about it and the guy at the video game section told me that it was the sticker price shown of clearance and they had no extra percentage off.

They had red signs all over the store, if you scan the item on the instore scanners (toy isles) you see the SALE price.
AND when it rang on the receipt ME2 showed $14.99! (also showed on scanners much to my surprise)

YES B2G1 combines with 25% off clearance! Woot.

My store has TONS of signs all over the video game department for the 25% off clearance games ending in 8 or 0.

Thanks to both! I live in Puerto Rico and we all all the same prices and deals like in the mainland, but I have not seen any signs for the extra 25% on clearance on the store. Here the games are behind a glass cabinet so I can't scan it by myself. I think I saw a few games outside the cabinet, I will try the scan technique w/ them.

The thing is I bought Yakuza 3 & SSFIV for the PS3 and used the 40% off the second game offer for them. If the extra % off works here, do they do price adjustment or will I have to exchange the yakuza for another game and re-buy separately yakuza again to get it cheaper?

I registered mostly to reply to your post: you got a great deal on the cables. My HDMI cable went bad after a power outage [Monster - PS3] and they sent a replacement OVERNIGHT for free. Not only that, these cables don't just look better, they're a LOT more durable than the monoprice cables. Don't listen to the nay sayers, you didn't drop $100 on monster, you paid what most people pay for whatever generic brand fry's has.

With the exception of "Deals" that happen every other month where HDMI cables are $1-$2, getting a 6 ft HDMI cable that is a decent quality will run you about $8 after shipping, even through monoprice. Those Monsters you bought are a better deal than anything you'll find locally and most everything you'll find online.

A plasma, PS3, and receiver runs you about $1500 at the least...$20 for two cables that have a brand name and corporation behind them isn't a bad deal at all..especially when replacing them is a pain free [and rather quick] process and you at least have "the best of the best" [even though that doesn't mean much when talking digital]

Monster is a complete waste of money. It provides absolutely nothing over generic cables you can buy from Amazon, other than looks and being able to tell people you bought Monster. Although, if someone tells me they bought Monster, I laugh at the.

Edit: To the "best of the best" comment above. Monster cable aren't the best. In fact, after numerous studies they are the same as other cables.

Most studies compare them to custom wiring or other hifi brands. Here is the quote from the famous gizmodo article..

• Monster has a point about future-proofing. I have no doubt, given our testing, that Monster cables can outperform other cables in video formats that are not yet in use. What does this mean for a consumer? Does it make sense to spend $300 now on a 50-foot cable, assuming you will spend thousands to upgrade all of your video equipment around it in the next few years? Logic dictates that the answer is no.
• The only people who should buy Monster cable are people who light cigars with Benjamins. Fortunately for Monster, there are plenty of those people. They're not even suckers, they are just rich as hell, and want the best. This testing did not prove that Monster is not the best. It just proved that the best is, for the most part, unnecessary.

so why in the world should you NOT buy monster if you have the chance to buy monster for roughly the same price [monoprice, 8ft and 10ft premium quality cables plus shipping vs the clearance price on monster..which isn't ymmv because i've seen the same clearance pricing at target, radio shack, and dollar stores]
Most studies compare them to custom wiring or other hifi brands. Here is the quote from the famous gizmodo article..

Buy what you want it's your money not thiers. I personally just buy my HDMI cables from ebay for like $2-3 shipped and so far they have all worked and performed as well as my brothers Monster HDMI cable.

I don't think they're worth full price, but I don't think that buying an HDMI cable for nine bucks is a complete waste of money. He got a quality (and yes, less importantly, brand name) HDMI cable for about the same price as others that don't have the brand name backing. If you're spending about the same amount either way, why not?

And it does provide something that other cables don't: a LIFETIME guarantee and we all know occassionally there are defects, bent connectors, etc. As long as it wasn't some sort of gross negligance they swap them out no problem and quickly as well.

The Halo coupon spoiled me too. I keep looking for something to drop under my buying limit of $10.

You guys are right about the Halo coupon. That and having so much GS credit, I just can't justify spending ~$20 for 3 games when I will have to use cash and they'll just be added to the backlog anyway.

I just wanted to let you all know that I did pick up three 4000 points card in the clamshell cases at my local TRU in the buy 2 get 3rd free deal today. So, in total, 12000 XBL points for $99.98, saving $49.99.

However, these were locked away at the bottom of the locked glass Xbox case in the store beside the electronics check-out counter. You may want to recheck your stores, perhaps they emptied out some warehouses. They also had other XBL cards in the clamshell cases: Three more 4000 cards, three 1600 cards for $19.99, and three 12 month cards for $39.98. I didn't pick up 12 month cards since I'm all set on XBL subscriptions and I've already spent too much today.

If I may, I would just for a moment, like to also pay tribute to the $10.00 Halo card stacked with the 30% off that they had in August: I picked up Tekken 6 and Prototype for $7.49, Ninja Gaiden 2, COD 4 Game of the Year, Wet, Gears of War, for $9.99, Scene It with controllers for $3.99, Scene It Bright Lights for $3.99, Codemned 2 Blood Shot for $6.99, and Project Sylpheed for $6.09. I'd also like to give an honorable mention to the 40% off accesories coupon back in July. Good stuff.

Againareku, thank you for the kind post.

I did keep two of the 8Ft Ultra 800 HDMI Monster cables from July (for my cable box and 360), but I took back the two other Monster cables unopened to TRU that I got late last month. The reason why I took that back was that I realized after doing research I'd need a recent high speed HDMI cable for a Blu-Ray player (unless I'm wrong). I was concerned that the 8 and 6 Ft HDMI Monster cables would not be up to par since they appeared to be from 2005 and 2006 respectively.

Either way, you hit it right on the money regarding the durability of the cables and the lifetime warranty, and for $11.99 that I bought for each of these back in July at TRU I'll take it.

Why not buy Monster cables at price comparable to all the cheaper ones? I'll tell you why: not supporting sue-happy, shady-ass mega-companies.

Yeah but everyone knows down the line even all these smaller companies are just some bastard child of sue-happy,shady-ass mega-companies

so you basically just pick your poison

My god a lot of talk about cables. Who cares where they come from if you spend less than $10 for each one your good. And Derrick is on the money. Every business wants to be large eventually. Most people start a business to make as much money as they can (working for themselves is a side benefit). Don't kid yourselves to think mom and pop stores wont be shady too if they thought they could get away with it and make more $$$.

finally we have a page on hdmi cables. now if only we had a page on deals found on clearance at toys r us. that'd be awesome.

anywhoo
take a look at the clamshells versus loose cards.at my tru the clamshells are marked at $39.99. and the loose are at $49.99.
worth a test if you're in the need for live cards.
