Ok, so its not our trade two get one free, but hey its something. Saw this when I went in to work to pay my 360 warranty. And yes, its any game, so if some of you are still sitting on any of the 2006 sports games, now is the time to unload them!

Edit: Yes, they killed the deal, I had no idea until today...you might as well lock this!

Important update - this should be added to the OP or the topic title!

I stopped at an EB today to pick up Madden and Ridge Racer to use for this deal.. they already had their new marketing signs up, and a sign for this deal is included. However, in the fine print on the bottom, it says the offer is only good for titles valued at $59.99 or less (i.e. no collector's editions :().

However, it is probably still possible to get a higher valued game in this deal, if the clerks don't know of the fine print or the details of the deal.. if you can just point out the sign to prove it's a deal, there's a chance they may not make the catch and you could still walk out with a collector's edition. I will be attempting this when one of the managers I know is working at my local GS and I'll let people know if it works.

I stopped and traded in four games today(2x Madden and 2x Ridge Racer) and was able to pre-order both NHL 07 and NHL 2K7, so YMMV on using this deal for pre-orders.

But it didn't say anything about restrictions on which titles could be traded in for it though?

Nope, nothing about specific titles, just the typical "all trades are suspect to manager's approval" and such.

The only differences between GameStop and EB anymore (aside from the name) are gift cards and store credit. All promotions run at both stores simultaneously.
 
If EB & GS were smart, they'd let people buy the collectors' editions for $19.99. When they did the pre-order deal for 5 games for $50 towards DOOM 3, they let you do DOOM 3 CE for $9.99 after the trade-in deal.

So in other words, we'll probably be able to pull off the Madden and Ridge Racer combo for the first week or so but then after that, once EBGamestop catches on, the "manager approval" will exclude them...

Looks like I will be trading in Ridge Racer 6 and Table Tennis... not sure what I'm gonna buy. But I will probably be able to buy back Ridge Racer 6 and Table Tennis at a lower price than I traded them in for(I think RR6 is still $19 on Outpost... and everywhere else).

False advertising on there part then if it does not state anything about restricted titles. BBB the assholes. If they point blank refuse to take them i'd call up the district manager start bitching to them. Yes i'm your worst nightmare. You do me wrong i do you wrong.

Hell if Fye can do a 2 for one deal why the fuck cant Eb gamestop? Cause they make more off those two used games than anything. They should be begging for games.

I'm gonna try my luck today with a few stores. I just want to preorder two games thats it. Nothing more nothing less.

Ok, but seriously... all that statement to me means is 'hay guyz go to the store you're a regular at and cool with the employees and MAYBE they'll let you slide with Kameo and PD0'.
 
Bleh, no dice on trading for the Prey CE for me, but at least the manager I know didn't say anything about not accepting Madden and Ridge Racer.

I might still get the regular Prey edition.. but I'll probably just wait until they come down in price.
 
Well, I'm off to deposit my check, and I'll take along some 360 games to see if I can get away with this deal. I'm still going to call ahead though so I don't look like an ass.

My store is already aware of it, how about that? I'm going to go back and trade in Kameo and PDZ anyway and just use credit for the rest of Dead Rising.

wouldn't this be considered false advertising then since their fliers or what not don't mention any exclusions?
 
just called a local EB and they rattled off the list of exclusions. Pretty much any title that isn't currently $60 brand new. So trading in a game that cost $60 new to get $25 credit doesn't sound like that great of a deal after all.
 
Yeah, they can kiss my grits on this "deal" then. Thats a pretty lengthy list of exclusions relative to the number of games out for the system.

I checked out one of the local stores on my lunch break, and they told me that they wouldn't accept ANY 2006 sports title -- including the 2K6 series which were not specifically mentioned on the exclusion list posted earlier. So YMMV trying to trade in last year's sports games.

Yeah this deal is pretty much a flop now. Its getting restricted to death already and this is the first fucking day of it....

Perfect Dark Zero
Project Gotham Racing 3
King Kong
Amped 3
All 2006 Sports Titles

There may have been one other title, but I think that's it.
 
i dont understand if they have exclusions then why bother having the promotion to pay an extra $9.99?....some 360 games do get $30 in trade value so if you trade 2 of those in then what? i wonder if they would still make you pay 9.99:lol:

If I haven't miscounted, I think that means that they exclude 16-18 (YMMV on whether they try to exclude Moto GP 2006 and THAW) out of 46 games released, or just over 1/3 of the games. If they do enforce those exclusions, then the deal really sucks.
 
ok, I saw three fliers for this trade in promo.

2 of them were the same, one was a large standee and the other a small paper that your meant to take. I don't remember seeing any specific exclusions on them.

The other I saw at one Gamestop store read: "Trade 2 X-box 360 games and get Saint's Row for $9.99". It then proceeded to list pretty much every xbox 360 game that is more than 6 months old as excluded.

I bought a new Ridge Racer 6 and used but mint copy of PGR3 for about $43 (in EB credit)and took it to Strawberries since they still had their trade 2 get one free promo. I picked up Dead Rising and to my surprise, it came with a free copy of Day of the Dead on dvd.
