Ok, so its not our trade two get one free, but hey its something. Saw this when I went in to work to pay my 360 warranty. And yes, its any game, so if some of you are still sitting on any of the 2006 sports games, now is the time to unload them!

Edit: Yes, they killed the deal, I had no idea until today...you might as well lock this!

I was in one of my area stores just yesterday and knew nothing about this deal. The guy working seemed to think I was a nice guy and proceeded to advise me of the deal and how to "cheat the system" by buying used copies of Ridge Racer and Madden 06 to take full advantage of it. I thought it was very cool of him to do that and said that multiple copies would work, but I don't really plan on going to all that trouble when I still don't feel that it's guaranteed to work if he's not working.

That is a YMMV my friend because it depends on your store or stores because my local stores will take any game like I stated earlier. Also, wanted to point out if you have CompUSA near you they have Dynasty Warriors 5 for only $19.99 and here is a link to the post where I found this out:

yea thats where i got mine, comp usa is right next to ebgames so i picked up 2 copies tried to bring one over but they said no

will have to try another EB

I went into my local mall and they read me the riot act of exclusions including 2006 sports games, kameo (because they had too many copies already), etc. So I walked outside drove across the parking lot to the adjacent plaza which also has an eb and they took kameo and pdz without hesitation. Seems like strange corporation operations to me.
 
I got Madden 07 (360) preordered for trading in PDZ and Fight Night, both on 360, Amped 2 (XBOX) and Crimson Skies (XBOX), for a grand total of $7.97. Gamestop in Virginia Beach.

I traded two games yesterday and picked up Chromehounds. I deceided I did not want Chromehounds, so I took the game to Gamestop to grab something else today. The manager said he would return the game for $9.99, since the deal was a 'promotion'. I balked and had him call the DM, since that would negate my trade-ins.

Appearently, the DM said the same thing. So make sure you get the game you want out of the deal. This happened at the Hollywood, CA location at Sunset and Andrews. The manager's name was Edgar, and he said this was new EB/Gamestop policy.

I smell BS so I called corporate.
 
I forgot about this thread - I responded to the new thread about the deals, and I think this info should be posted here. It looks like many of you are getting in on the deals with no restrictions, but the web site has a fairly large exclusion list for these promos, so I'd be caerful. Here's what I said in the other thread (since it will most likely get nuked):

Damn, with all those exclusions it is pretty crappy of EBStop to charge $9.99 on top of the 2 Xbox 360 trades! They've eliminated all the cheap games, the least they could do is make it trade 2 get 1 (without the $9.99).

In fact, it seems like in many cases you would get LESS than just trading the games straight up + 10% Edge bonus. Just like with the Dirge of Cerebus "bonus" they are taking advantage of people and actually providing LESS credit for a number of games.

For example, say you were to trade GRAW and Oblivion, 2 games which they list prices for on the web site and aren't brand new titles - thus ones people might use for this deal. You would get a base of $58 + Edge bonus of $5.80 for a total of $63.80. If you use this "deal" they will make you pay $9.99 and then, if you aren't savvy, steer you towards a USED copy of whatever game you are looking for (which only costs $54.99). So instead of getting the game + $8.81 left over, you lose your two games and $9.99. Wow, great deal there :roll:.

I don't even have an Xbox 360 and I loved their trade 3 get an extra $5 promo, but they are starting to piss me off with these last couple of "deals".

Since they've excluded things like Kameo, PDZ, all 2006 sports games, etc, I'm not sure what's left that actually trades for $20 or less (which would be the only games worth using the deal for - otherwise you might as well just trade them straight up with Edge bonus and you'll get MORE than you need for the full preorder, or at least closer than $9.99). I also love how they now include used games in the deal (ie, you can trade 2, pay $9.99, and get a fucking USED 360 game).

Some people are going to get really screwed with these deals (not CAG's probably but the kid+mom combo that goes in and gets the "deal" pushed on them). I hope this isn't the trend with all of their upcoming deals (on PS3 and Wii games too).

OK - here's the full exclusion list from the Trade 2 + $9.99 to get Saint's Row or "any" used or new 360 game deals:
all 2006 and older sports titles, Kameo, Perfect Dark Zero, King Kong, Project Gotham 3, Ridge Racer 6, Outfit & Amped 3.

That pretty much covers all the "exploitable" games, doesn't it? I'd be very careful buying these at EB/GS to turn around and trade back in :lol:.
 
When I traded my games in (see above) the guy who checked me out was all for the trade in 2 360 games and get one for $9.99. He never mentioned anything about exclusions. Was really cool about it. When picking up Madden at midnight, he remembered me and even said himself that he was thinking about which games he was going to trade in to capitalize on this deal.
 
hey just to let you peole know I was told that some stores (ebgames in my area) this weekend are having no exclusions... :) I made sure they wouldn't take my pd0 but the manager said they are having a special this weekend with no exclusions :)

WOW! That's just insanely crooked.

I am so happy to be steering clear of this promo.

I can understand the exclusions, but their inability to enforce them just makes me stay away from the store altogether.

I'll wait for a B2G1F sale and pick up a bunch of games for 64 cents on the dollar.

After this promo, I'm sure they'll be wanting to unload all of those Kameos, Outfits and PD0s at any cost.

It is a shame so many stores are allowing those trades. They're going to end up getting $35 for each new 360 game they let go. Considering they pay over $40 per copy, ... well, you do the math.
 
hey they took topspin 2 and condemned for "gears of war :)" also gave me the additional $2.50 so I only paid $5 out of pocket.. I am 100% on the no exclusions for this weekend deal.. (because they even had a sign that said "this weekend only no exclusions to 360 deal" and the manager was pretty adamant about it (said that it was only a few locations doing the no exlusions this weekend).. he said as long as I only bring in one of each title.. (no 2 or 3 maddens in his words..) :) going to eb this weekend

21.82 for 2 games not counting the trade-ins, I was either done with or didn't care about those other games, and the Outfit and Kameo I got for Christmas... so there!
 
I was able to trade in Ridge Racer 6 and Perfect Dark Zero for Madden 07 today. NICE!

I think I'm going to get some more games for cheap and try to preorder another game.

I traded in Tony Hawk's American Wasteland and a cheap copy of Ridge Racer that I picked up for a pre-order on Saint's Row. Thanks OP.

(I called first and found out my local EB didn't have any restrictions on the deal, like many others.)
 
Finally had a good experience at EB. Traded in Burnout Revenge ($20) and Top Spin 2 ($14.00) for Madden 07. However the idiot at the register didn't know how to do the deal so instead of charging me $9.99 for Madden, he deducted $9.99 from my $34.00 trade in credit. So I went into the store with Burnout and Top Spin and walked out with Madden and a $24.00 EB card!

Lucky, you got the best deal ever at EB.
 
I traded in 4 games today(NHL, College BB, Madden 06, and RR6), he bumped up the credit from $20.00 total for all 4 games to $120.00 for all four. So I picked up Saints Row and Enchanted Arms for free and after the 10% Edge Card bonus I still had $12.00 left on the card.

So I didnt have to pay the $20.00 out of pocket at all for the two games, I pointed it out to the guy put he really didnt seem to care.

Also another store in my area is having a B2G1 on all used sports games so last night I was able to pick up Madden 06, NHL, and College BB for only $34.20 for all three.

So I ended up with $132.00 in credit for:

Madden 06, NHL 2k6, College BB 2k6 = $34.20(after B2G1, and 10% EC)
Ridge Racer = $16.19(after 10%EC)

$34.20
+$16.19
------------
=$50.39
 
my ebgames got a list of exclusions on friday and never let me use it on preorders before then anyways so I'm having to go further from my house hoping a gamestop or ebgames somewhere near me doesn't because I want Saint's Row and Enchanted Arms this week
 
I was gonna grab College Hoops 2K6 and use it and RR6 for Saint's Row, but it's not worth chancing it to pick up CH2K6 and having it be excluded.. that, and I don't really care. Saint's Row will be the last full price game I buy for a while anyway, and even then, I had a bit of spare credit, so it'll only be like 48.

I was told at my EB the other day you now have 7 days to return a used game and if you check EB's receipts it does now say that at the bottom.

I was going to get College Hoops at another store. I try to avoid EB whenever possible.

I tried that earlier in the summer. Bought 2 xbox games for BC, and they ran like crap. Took them back, and was only allowed instore credit.

Yup, I went to a gamestop and ebgames and got laughed at and shown the exclusion list. Luckily, I stopped by another ebgames and traded PDZ & chromehounds for Saints Row.

Wait, so instead of bumping each game to $25 to give you $50 total, and then charging you $9.99 for the new game, they bumped each game BY $25 (!) - so one game went to $50 and the other to $35 and you ended up with a $20 refund?? Wow, they screwed up big time in your favor! Gotta love EBStop... The problem is the extreme YMMV due to lack of quality control on these deals. Some people get run out of the store with the restrictions and you not only get the restricted game taken, but a $30 bonus to boot!
 
speaking of gamestop/eb screw ups. i went to eb about two weeks ago to return a used copy of blazing angels... which comes out to about 50 bucks i should have got back. i told the employee i wanted to put all of it (the $50) on saints row and put down 5 bucks out of my own pocket on madden. i kept waiting for the part where i had to pay. finally she asked "do you have 35 cents? you only owe 35 cents on saints row... you might as well pay it off." i was confused as fuck, i knew i should not have got that much back. i just say "no, no cash on me right now i'll pay it when i come to pick it up." she prints my receipt for my madden pre-order, which i also ended up not paying for. i walk out with both receipts, thinking she forgot to ask for my 5 bucks for madden, and my refund receipt says i got back $69 and some change. which is why i owed only a few cents on saints row and nothing on my madden pre order.

THEN

i went to pick up my copy of saints row today and they never even took my 35 cents for it. the receipt even shows i owed 35 cents. the guy just gave me the game, printed my receipt and said "have a nice day."

totally off topic but i thought it would be funny.
