Ok Ill try to sum it up as easyily as possible. My intention was to just go in, trade in Halo 3 ODST towards the pre-order of Borderlands. Now. The whole reason im here is because I dont think the recipt is correct. But the recipt says.

Apparently not because you should of got 42 dollars for the Trade. The refurb fees cancel out the coupon.

If that's the case, and the game's condition didn't warrant a refurb fee, I'd go back and ask to speak to the manager. So not only was the OP screwed out of $4 for the refurb, but the $9 for the 30% bonus as well.

Yup, I've heard gamestop managers telling people all the time up here that refurb fees cancel out any bonuses.

Nope, in order to use coupons or promos, games need to be in working condition. By this they mean that the games are not cracked or chipped. They can be scratched to shit, as long as they are repairable (in which they will charge you the refurb fee); you should have still gotten the bonus (if they were scratched, even though they weren't).

They were just pissed at you and screwed you over cause you canceled on them.

i have to argue with them when i brought in BRAND NEW games theyll add the refurb fee & ill have to ask why its not adding up only to catch them. now i say if any refurb fees then set it aside cuz ill keep it.

By looking at the completed auctions, used copies of ODST are going for between $40 and $45 on ebay. If the asshole employee didn't screw him over, just because he canceled pre-orders, he would have gotten ~$40, with EDGE and one of the current promos.

Dude, when they put a refurb fee, question them right away if you know you were right. Once you get out of that store, it's over.

Refurb fees do NOT cancel any trade promos regardless of what any disclaimer says. The promos are automatic (or when activated by a coupon code). The refurb fee would just be subtracted from the total trade credit.

Post up the receipt so we can see everything without the confusion.

I only bring my games to GS when they have good power trade deals, but then that's rare because I usually don't have 4 games to trade at a time. The only benefit I see for GS trades, your store credit isn't taxed when you buy a game from them.

I got hit with a refurbish fee, on the other hand if you preorder a game when you go in and trade even though they don't always advertise it they will give you an additional 10% bonus towards your total trade value.

If you're ODST is in really good condition, Poor2More is most likely right...

The employee took 2 hits because you cancel 2 pre-orders, so this is his/her way of getting back to you, refurb fee and no promo. You should go back and speak to a manager right away..

This is why I refuse to trade anything in to gamestop. Luckily we have a store called entertainmart that always pays more than gamestop trades. There is also a playntrade in the area, but i've never checked to see their TIV. After having a friend who works for gamestop and hearing stories from him, I refuse to give them my buisness.
