Transformers Movie - DVD & HD DVD Sales Break Records
I still don't get the scorpion transformer. How was he able to change into that shape when there is nothing like that on earth?
There aren't any scorpions on earth?
I still don't get the scorpion transformer. How was he able to change into that shape when there is nothing like that on earth?
What's known is that Scorponok is carried by Blackout. Blackout transformed into a Helicopter that I'm assuming he ran into somewhere on the desert, since they mention that the helicopter was reported destroyed. So Blackout takes a scan of off the chopper, and Scorponock scans the sands and finds a Scorpion. How hard was that ;)

Ah. I see. I never watched Transformers before, but I did watch the Beast Wars series (which I like a lot). I didn't know Transformers could transform into anything they wanted.
Uhhh...I think that guy's seriously out of the loop. Dreamworks has already greenlit two sequels:
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/movies/a58430/two-transformers-sequels-in-pipeline.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenlight

To greenlight a project, in the context of the movie and TV businesses, is to formally approve production finance, thereby allowing the project to move forward from the development phase to pre-production and, barring disasters, principal photography. A project which is financed is said to be greenlit or greenlighted and a studio executive who has authority to grant greenlight status to a project is said to have greenlight power.
We all know that sequels are coming. I mainly posted to show the amount of toys sold.
soooo... where is the online pention to RE-RELEASE THE ORIGINAL G1 Toys?!?!?

zomg stop obsessing over me plz. Yeah I know, I'm super awesome or whatever but like stop stalking me. Christ, you're blowing some sort of whistle on me for asking for what he meant by quoting a wiki article without any context? What the hell is your problem, dude? Stop trollin', k.

Anyways, I seriously don't understand what thumb-dude was saying.

Okay, you're incredibly easily amused, I get it. Can you please keep it to yourself? Yes, I get it, his aids really impressed you, that's really nice, but I'm sorry, no way no how is it funny enough to go cross-thread, okay?

well it's been over a month since the release of this fantastic movie.. Most theaters have brought it down to one screen now... so how many times have you seen it? Me, 3 times. You might be able to squeeze 1 more showing out of me and that's it.

Now we need a dvd release date :p

btw- Has anyone notice an increase in sightings of YELLOW Camero's on the street?

Local buck movie places said they will be lucky to get this movie By labor day (though they might keep it in full price movies and try to rehype it for labor day)

Though some places are saying FEB 2008 for DVD i say they release it in Dec to cash in on the xmas money

It's still in the top 10, so I think it'll be a few weeks before it's in the $ theaters, around here anyways.

The megaplex here is still playing it in DTS, I think I wanna see it in that again.

I have seen it 3 times and will probably cath one more showing. Transformers, Spider-Man 2, and Serenity are the only movies that I have seen 3 or more times this millenium.

Ill never find a yellow Camero here in the city, but i DID find a solstice yesterday on the highway, pretty rare sight for me.
... btw- Has anyone notice an increase in sightings of YELLOW Camero's on the street?
Nope, but i did see a newer black camaro with an autobot sticker on the back window, i thought it was awesome. :)

makes you wonder...for the sequel... will the autobots reformat themselves to updated car models?!??! I hope not, but in order to save some money, I bet this will happen so that GMC or other company's can give them the cars and save a few million through sponsorship.

That's exactly what I was wondering...I think the deal with GMC will force the movie producers to create new models for the TFs. Also...I'm wondering how they'll write it into the storyline without it being a total and complete show for product placement.

oh that's easy... either one of two things will happen.

1. In the first 30 minutes of the movie, the autobots get trashed by
DEVISTATOR
and therefore upgrade to newer car models (OH GOD PLEASE DON'T MAKE PRIME INTO A FIRE TRUCK!!)

or

2. Mikeala will open her trap again and say "You guys are a bunch of junkers, can't you change into something else?"...bumblebee will kick them out AGAIN everyone gets reformatted with racing stripes :( Bumblebee will also get a complete make over by
the guys over at West Coast Customs

Kill the franchise right now.

I don't think there will be too many new models. GM jujst now decided to build that Topkick. The Camaro doesn't bow for another year. Hummer isn't going anywhere.

You might get some additional characters that are newer models, but I'd be willing to be none of the main GM-based characters change.

Now, if Ford offers stupid money, and Bay doesn't care about continuity, then disregard all that.

I don't think that would happen. Even if Ford did just offer retarded amounts of cash, I think the studio would turn it down (well it depends on the level of retardation of the money). With GM you get so many damn brands to choose from. Ford? Oh cool, Bumblebee can be a Range Rover....Cool right? Rig... FAIL

Ford has a few brands, too, they just all suck or are stuck in other markets.

The Falcon? Hot.

man that's awesome!! It really sucks that the police are giving him a hard time about it. However do you ever see the police giving storm troopers a hard time when they are out and about with their blasters?!!? no...why? Because everyone LOVES star wars... and some consider "Transformers" to be "Kiddie" Anyways although the police chief is on the fence...I bet you the DA's office is going to be a real dickhead and say, "yep, it's illegal now turn it over to the police for trashing or go to jail" Let the guy and his son be.... He has more to worry about from the Producers of the movie and the car company then law officials.
He has more to worry about from the Producers of the movie and the car company then law officials.
Are you saying that they'd go after him for this? I don't believe that for a second. Now, if he was making and selling the decals or something, I'd understand, but he did it just for him and his boy.
Real life Barricade:

I thought about how cool it would be to recreate Barricade but when I pictured it in my head, I would have replaced "POLICE" with "BARRICADE" decals to avoid confusion...though the black/white colors might still have created an issue. That's badass though!

well they *could* go after him because Barricade is copyrighted. Yes I know the owner is not mass producing and selling the decal kits. It all depends on how the lawyers for the company's see it.

It doesn't feel complete without the police lights...but then again once he adds that to the car, he's going to be in so much shit with police :( People just need to relax and allow him to enjoy it..he didn't steal it, he didn't try to sell it. I think it's cool...but his neighbors need to fucken lighten up.
What a half-assed attempt.
don't you just love it how he says "I'm a disabled vet..." what does that have to do with anything? It's was a so so attempt. You got to give him credit for that.

First thing that stands out is it's not a Saleen. It may or may not even be a V8/GT (looks like it might have the Pony Pkg available to the base model).

It's just...retarded looking with the lame effort he put into it.

Why such harsh words who did it just for his kid?
Why such harsh words who did it just for his kid?
The truth hurts.

I love my kids a lot, but I wouldn't turn my car into a 'Transformer' without spending a little more time and effort into making it look good.

The message he ends up sending to his kid is that it's okay to do things half-assed.

I think he did a pretty good job for what he spent...he probobly just doesn't have the budget to go all out with the Saleen body kit/engine and all. Just think of it this way....he made the Hong Kong (bootleg) version of Barricade.

Yeah agreed.

His kid was like 5. Like he knows the difference anyways. As long as it was black and white, had the decals, I'm sure the kid is happy.

LMAO.

Also take the words of a die-hard car nut (gearhead) with a little grain of salt. You should see my model collection.

In fact, once I get some new pics taken, I might start a thread on it ala the TF Toy discussion.

Rumors on HighDefDigest.com forums suggest that the movie will hit DVD and HD DVD and I guess Blu-Ray  on October 16th.
Although none of the titles has been officially announced, retailers are tentatively filling in their release calendars with 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment’s Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer on Oct. 2; Paramount Home Entertainment’s Transformers on Oct. 16; Paramount/DreamWork’s Shrek the Third on Nov. 13; and Fox’s Live Free or Die Hard and Warner Home Video’s Ocean’s 13 on Nov. 20.
